MACROSS 7: THE POWER OF WORD FORCE
Chapter 9: Riviera
Sally Saint Ford was fed up, when she thought she could take a break after almost the entire Macross 7 fleet was about to be taken over by a criminal organization, now she had to babysit the entire New Macross bridge crew.
"But they're not kids, for God's sake!" she thought, frustrated.
The Macross 7 fleet received prompt help from the UNSpacy of the Earth, things got very ugly but fortunately the negotiations with the UNS were not tense. The civilian autonomy of the fleet was not compromised in any way and, on the military side, there were not many concessions to be made either.
“Hey, Sally, you gotta see this, I think I saw a crab!” Miho shouted to her from a distance.
Sally snorted in frustration, as the Riviera ship had no crabs, at least not wild crabs, but they were bred in special hatcheries just like the rest of the marine fauna.
Without being able to do anything else, the officer went towards the rocky area of the beach. Right there on that spot were the other bridge officers: Miho Miho, Kim Saintlaurent, Melissa, Birdy, Leona, Kyone, Reina and Violet. All of them very excited trying to find some tiny crab.
Although reluctant to participate at first, she was eventually involved in the search for the lucky crabs, a futile quest because after a while the already bored girls went to explore other places.
On his group tour, they found a rare individual, wearing a wide-brimmed straw hat and wearing a set of tourist clothing just like the one worn in the Hawaiian Islands, he bit into a long stem of ripe barley. I was on the rocks and was listening to an old anime song through a worn-out device thanks to a USB memory device.
“Is that Sailor Moon?” asked Kim, who inadvertently caught the subject's attention.
“Hmm?”
“Oh, sorry, I didn't mean to intrude. I listened to that song and that old show I used to see when I was a kid came to mind.”
“Yes... I really like anime songs.”
“Hey, Kim, what are you doing?” Melissa asked him, who along with Birdy, arrived at the place.
“Melissa, don't get too far ahead of yourself, walking around here is difficult," said Birdy, who cut her complaint short when she saw the guy. “Hi, there.”
“Hi," said Utis, who was nervous to see the other girls, very pretty by the way, approaching the place as well.
“Hey, are you a friend from around here?” Leona asked him.
“Yeah, I'm from here, well, I used to live on this ship.”
“Is that so?” Kyone said.
“Yes, not everyone on the Riviera is a tourist from other ships. I used to live near here.”
“Oh, tell me friend, have you seen crabs?” Reina asked him.
“Yes, they raise them in the ship's hatcheries.”
“I think you were right, Sally, aren't there any wild crabs around here?” Violet asked him.
Utis shook his head and then showed the girls where the ship's kennels were. There they could not only see the crabs, but also various marine fauna that were bred for consumption not only from the Riviera, but from the entire fleet.
The girls thanked Utis for the information and were ready to go to the kennels, leaving Utis who continued to listen to their music as he watched the waves crash into the rocks.
"The battery's dead. Time to go back to the hotel," thought Utis, who after putting a new battery in his old yellow radio, and covered with anime stickers, decided to get going.
Attendance at the restaurants on the waterfront was normal, not very low, nor was the place overflowing with activity. In that, Utis saw the "princesses" of the Riviera: Eila and Sanya.
The two girls were the bridge officers of the Uraga-type ship, which was connected to the Riviera. Eila, as usual, wore her long braid on her side; Sanya, for her part, wore her beautiful hair, as black as the wings of a crow and matching her equally spectacular eyes.
The officers were chatting animatedly, commenting on an article in a magazine that seemed to be fashionable.
"Wow, Sanya sure is pretty. I wish I could talk to her, but I don't know her at all," Utis thought, relieved to be wearing his wide-brimmed hat, as he could feel his face catch on fire.
As he lowered his hat and hurried along, Utis passed by and, after a good distance, turned around to see the beauty of the girl with the black hair and porcelain doll face.
A waiter would bring them a snack while the girls would leave the magazine aside and look at one of the plates and the other at the handsome young man who worked in the restaurant.
"I'm already hungry, I'd better go to the restaurant near my hotel, the food is cheaper there," thought Utis, who really could afford to eat in the same place as the girls, but using the price difference as an excuse, decided to leave the place.
.
.
Already in the afternoon, Utis was contemplating the hologram of the sunset. He had ordered a double plate, which had been accompanied by an extra dessert, which satisfied his appetite and now made him drowsy.
The advantage of a holographic sunset was that you could look at it from the front without having to worry about the eyes. Of course, Utis missed the presence of the screeching seagulls on the planet Eden, but ultimately, the sunsets on the Riviera were most beautiful, there was no comparison.
His body was satisfied, but his heart was not, so he imagined that Sanya was standing beside him, who was also watching the beautiful sunset.
CONTINUARÁ…
Author's final notes: Hi, as you saw, I had to name most of the girls from New Macross or Rivera, as I couldn't find their real names anywhere. What a waste, so many chapters and none of them go into the girls.
