Damon stood there, waiting for one of us to answer.
"Well?" he eagerly asked, aggressively.
No one dared speak. No one dared to eye contact each other. All I could hear was our heavy breathing.
"Listen Damon -" started Max.
"Lucy, may I ask you what is exactly happening to us and what was the hell was that...noise?"
I sighed deeply, scared of what Damon was going to do, "Err; well that noise was from a dog whistle-"
"Dog whistle...Seriously Lucy? We can't hear those things."
Max muttered, "Exactly what I was saying..."
I looked at Damon in the eye, "I know. But it was one. Hard to believe, but both I and Max have seen proof that somehow we can hear those things," I explained quickly.
"And my eyes? I'm sure the sound of a 'dog whistle,' didn't cause that," he said in a monotone voice, his eyes looked hard at me.
"I don't know...I haven't seen that before, Damon. I have only seen contact lenses do that, but that's about it." I replied, "I have never, well, seen human eyes glow like that before. It was quite unnerving to witness such a thing to be honest," I explained, then muttering under my breath, "I'm wondering why I haven't run off after seeing something extremely unnatural."
I looked at the boy toilet doors, observing how very wooden and worn out the look they looked. They were black, obscure colour, with golden door handles, which had very small details in them. I took advantage of my new eyesight and saw it had swirls, going in the same direction. I turned back round and noticed that the boys were looking at me, shocked.
I had thought I had said that, very low, making sure no one had heard that, however Damon and Max both looked up at me, speechless.
Before Damon and Max could go further, I interrupted them quickly, "why were you saying 'my teeth' as well? I didn't see anything wrong with your teeth," he said, confusion was written all over his face.
It was true. As soon Damon looked at his reflection, I only saw his eyes glowing yellow, abnormally. However, recalling how he was pronouncing his words beforehand, he seemed as though he was struggling to even say his words, through his teeth,636Please respect copyright.PENANAGY0hPkc20q
"...my teeth?" He stared at us, wide eyed.
Realisation suddenly hits Damon and turned his back to us, facing his reflection. Unsure what to expect, he slowly used his middle and index finger, peeled back his upper lip slightly, his hands trembling, shaken at what had just occurred to him.
"My teeth...they're no longer pointy! But they were...or just about..."
He seemed to be muttering to himself. His eyes widen, couldn't believe his eyes to what he was witnessing. His breathing started to become quick and fast, not sure what to believe. He put his hand away and back off from his reflection, shaking his head, side to side, violently.
"No...No! My teeth! They were...they were all scary and pointed...my canines were sharp! I felt them change...," he explained, while his voice started to become a little high.
Max came closer and touched his cousin's shoulder, "listen Damon, I think we've all had a weird day and need a time out and I certainly don't remember your teeth growing weirdly."
I just stood there, unsure what to say. Damon's aura seems to be a little stronger than it was before. I felt my squinted at his posture. More towards why he seemed to be...more intimidated.
I already felt daunted by the atmosphere around him. He seemed powerful.
Damon shook off Max's hand from his shoulder and turned around, "I know what I saw and I know the pain I just felt. It was real..."
"You may have been seeing things-"
"I wasn't! I know what I saw!"
"That's enough!" I shouted the two teenagers, "we can keep repeating the same conversation but it's going no where. We don't know what's happening to us at all, Damon. But we will get to the bottom of this, ok?"
Both Damon and Max stood there in silence, looking at each other and both nodded at me, agreeing to what I've been saying.
"Lucy's right," Damon agreed, "we need to find out what exactly is happening...what is happening to us...and arguing with each other, isn't going to solve anything. Lucy-"
We all heard knocking on the door. We all jumped at once, wide eyed at the wooden door. My hand was over my chest, feeling my heart pumping first, feeling as though it had been in a marathon.
"Hello? Hello? Anyone there?" It was a female voice, seemed like it belonged to an older woman, the door started to open, creaking against the floor, slowly, "I'm coming in! Is everything ok? Oh Lucy! I wasn't expecting you to be here."
There, stood between to doors, was the nurse Ferah, in her pinkish uniform, looking at us wide eyes, "I'm intruding? And Lucy, you do know this is the boys toilets?"
"No. Not all all, and I know but Damon felt like he was going to faint, so I helped Max here to the bathroom," I casually explained, hopefully she agreed with me, knowing it was sort of the truth, "anyway we wanted to make sure he was fine before I left them for tea. I didn't want to leave a fainted Damon in Max's hands."
The two boys looked at be, bewildered at the sudden story I just came up with, "but Damon seems ok at the moment, so I may take my leave."
Ferah stood there shocked and observed Damon, "goodness, are you alright? Why didn't you come and get me?" She turned back at me.
"Max needed help and looked like he would of struggled. Getting other help didn't come to mind though..." I looked at floor, "sorry."
Ferah sighed and closed the door behind her, since she was keeping the door open with her hand, "it's fine. Furthermore, are you alright Damon? You still seem a little white to me?"
Damon was taken aback and rushly replied, "Yeah, I've been never better. I'm alright now," he forcefully smiled, which I cringed at the awful, produced smile.
Ferah squinted her eyes at Damon and looked at the older teen, then she crossed her arms before asking, "are you sure? You seem a little jumpy?"
Max and I looked at each other, knowing well this could lead to something ugly and I knew she wasn't buying it at all.
"Me jumpy? I'm not jumpy. I'm perfectly fine. Seriously I am," this time was a genuine smile.
I looked at Ferah raising her eyebrows, who I felt relieved, accepted Damon's answer,
"Yeah, I feel fine, just lack of food, I guess. I mean, I'm off for tea now with Lucy and Max. I'll see you later," Damon grinned and pushed myself and Max out of the room.
Damon suddenly pushed back and grabbed Max's left arm, guiding us out from the boys toilets and through the corridor, away from public toilets.
"Damon?" I pondered.
I got no response until we were half away from Ferah. Damon let us go and looked back at the double doors. I almost sensed he was alert and on guide, making sure she wasn't following us or was anybody else.
The deserted corridor, was quiet and cold. The walls were white, with nothing on them; no scribbles either, sort from odd cracks here and there. There was green black boards located on nearly every wall, with club activities on them. Nothing more. The floor were white and clean, with a few odd foot marks, from the reception into the corridors. I looked at Damon once more. He seemed relaxed.
"What was that about?" Max crossed his arms and leaned on one leg, putting his full weight on it.
Max seemed angry to what just happened, "like seriously, what the hell was that about?"
Damon rubbed his eyes with his hands, before looking at us, "I don't know, I just have this weird vibe about her, like her aura is different and strong but not normal. I don't trust her."
"You don't Ferah?" I scrunched my face, wondering why he didn't like the older woman, "I know she's strict but that's her job."
"I know! It's just, she seems different."
"What, different than us? I'm sure whatever we are, she isn't."
"Thats not what I meant. I mean she's different from other people. It's like she saw right threw us and knew what was happening. It's like when we woke up and she avoided our questions thinking that we bumped our heads," Damon turned to look at the doors once more, "there's just something about her, I'm unsure about."
Came to think of it, I agreed with Damon. I saw Ferah strolling out of the boys toilets. I felt my eyes widen at the scene.
"We need to go-now!"
We paced ourselves to the reception, trying to avoid looking back, knowing well that I could fell Ferah's eyes, gazing at us.
Damon ended up coming to the Hungry Palace with us. We were discussing my notes and what was going with us. We were in a booth, so we felt more private with our chat. It wasn't as busy, but there was still plenty of people.
"One Texas BBQ burger with chips and one Southern Fried Strips," said a waitress, making her way over to our table, placing the burger in front of Damon while putting the chicken strips in front of me.
Max's food came before ours and himself a steak. The boys said they felt very hungry lately, which we unusual for them.
"So the notes seem to become more and more true. Shall we test the theory out? Like see if the rest is true?"
"And what? See if were actually werewolves? Haha! That ridiculous Max! They don't exist!"
"Oh they don't Lucy? Then please explain what is going with us?"
"I don't know!"
"You don't know what?"
We all noticed the rest of our group had came along and stood at our table; Shannon and Chloe were stood near Max while Damon, who was sat beside me, was near Jack.
"Hey! I didn't know you guys were coming!"
"Well Jack said he was hungry and we knew you guys were here, so we thought we up with you all," Chloe explained, "plus we haven't seen much of each other today. It's a quite a nice evening tonight," she beamed.
"Move over will you," mumbled Shannon to Max.
We all scooted over, so myself and Max were touching the wall and Jack and Chloe were at the other end of the table.
"So how was practice?" I asked, whisky munching away with my food.
"Well Jasmine was ok, but she wants way more practice though. Mind helping sometime Lucy?" Shannon answered
Even though I wasn't any good at cricket, I thought it wouldn't hurt to try and help Jasmine with cricket. I nodded, since my mouth was full, I swallowed then asked, "what else does she need practicing on like?"
This time Chloe replied, "mostly her aim and swinging. She's good at catching though."
"Ok. That's seems simple."
"So, what were you three talking about then?"
I stopped eating, Damon sighed and Max made a commotion, at choking on his food and we all stared at him. He grabbed his glass of cola cola, and drank the majority of it.
"Err, Max you alright?" Chloe looked over, concerned for Max.
"Yes, I'm fine. The chip went down the wrong way."
She nodded slowly at his response, not wanting to accept his answer suddenly.
"Nothing important Jack," Damon explained, but he give him a hard stare, making sure he knew well that it was something important and not in front of the girls.
Jack stared at Damon and looked away, before it looked suspicious.
"If it wasn't important, then mind if we know?" Chloe requested.
Knowing it was my queue to step in, I simply said, "you're very nosey Chloe. Are you always like this?"
Everyone was taken aback by my response, not expecting me to say that. In honesty, I had no idea where the confidence was coming from.
"Haha!" She had a very laugh, that made my ears twitch at the odd noise, "no. I'm just making conversation that's all."
I squinted my eyes, unsure why she was acting that way, "well, if you must know, I was talking about our assignments."
Jack groaned and slouched into his chair, "really? I thought it was more interesting, like let's egg Lee's bedroom door."
"Are you going to even order your food?" I mentioned.
Shannon was staring into space when she suddenly said out loud, "so you think there's something out there, like vampires and werewolves? Or even witches?"
I snapped my head up, wondering why she even bothered asking that question. I was about to ask when Damon got there before and took the lead.
"No Shannon. There's no such thing as sparkly vampires or oversize puppies" he eyed her, "why did you even ask that? Do you need to see a therapist?" He snorted, whilst he was continuing eating his tea.
She shook her head, "no...it's just I heard that there was howling and a dog like beast roaming the school grounds...rumour has it."
