I can't believe she did that. I just proposed to her a week ago. She seemed so happy. I don't understand. This still doesn't make any sense. I flip through the channels. I don't understand.
"We have just got word that an inmate by the name of Vincent Anderson has escaped from prison and is said to be armed and dangerous. He was the mastermind behind the murders of the people on the cruise ship years ago." I shut off the TV. She's in trouble. No wonder she wasn't very chatty and disappeared and called from an unknown number. I run to Ruby's room and shake her until she wakes up.
"Xavier, do you have any idea what time it is? You know I have a big day at work tomorrow, I'm trying to sleep."
"Ruby. Camila is in trouble. The Captain has her."
"What? Are you sure? There's no way-"
"Yes I know, he's in jail. But she left the house without saying a word to me, and then called me a little bit ago to break up with me over the phone. It's all over the news that he's escaped from jail." She's silent for a while, almost to the point where I think she's not going to respond.
"Okay okay, you call the cops, let me get dressed." I leave her room and don't waste a second.
"911 what's your emergency?"
"I think my girlfriend has been kidnapped."
