Aaron looks at his watch. "How long does it take someone to answer a door?" He says to me.
"It's a big house dear. Be patient, I'm sure they're coming to the door soon."
He squints his eyes at me, "Ring it again." I stare at him for a moment, then reach for the doorbell a second time. The door swings open before I have a chance to ring it.
"Mr. and Mrs. Davis. Hello there. Come on in." The servant says cheerfully. "Sam here will take your coats." The servant gestures toward the man standing next to her. "Until everyone arrives, feel free to grab a drink and we'll get started shortly." Aaron pulls me to the side.
"Why did I have to come with exactly? I don't like Leo as it is." I smile at him. "Be nice, I told him that I'd at least make an appearance. It is his birthday after all." A scowl forms on his face. He opens his mouth to respond, but the doorbell interrupts him.
"Hi! Come in, come in." The servant says in a sing-song tone.
"Woah, this house is huuuge." A little kid starts running around. My husband scoffs in disgust.
"Who brings a kid to this kind of party?" He says to me.
"Apparently she does."
"Max! I told you to behave, now go sit on the couch." The kids' mom yells irritated.
"Make me Lara" Max sticks his tongue out at his mom. The kid sprints off towards the living room and the mom chases after him.
Tsk tsk tsk, "She just had to bring that little Devil here? I would have left him at home." My upper lip curls in disgust as I say that. Aaron nods in agreement with me.
