"Ruby. For the fifteenth time, where are we going??" I'm practically yelling at her now.
"I know where Cam is."
"Yeah, you've said that each time I've asked, but how?" Her grip around the wheel tightens. "What aren't you telling me, Ruby?" She doesn't answer me. We pull into the driveway of a huge expensive-looking house. There are a bunch of cars parked outside. "Ruby-"
"Stop asking questions and let's go." I get out of the car and follow her. The first thing I see is bodies piled up on the grass right outside the door. My mind immediately goes to Camila. I know she's not in the pile of bodies, but I still can't help but look at them to see. I breathe a sigh of relief when I see that she's not in there. Quietly Ruby pushes the door open. She takes a gun out of the waistband of her pants. I don't know when she got that. The house is empty and Ruby curses under her breath.
"Did you really think that we'd be that stupid as to stay in one spot? We'd be sitting ducks." Ruby and I turn to see a girl standing in the doorway. She's dressed in an all-black pantsuit.
"What did you do with her?" I've never seen Ruby so angry.
"Oh, nothing yet. But I can tell you that you'll never see her again." Ruby walks over to her and places the gun on her temple.
"I'm gonna ask you again, where is she?" She's silent, just staring at Ruby. Ruby smacks the girl with the gun.
"Where. Is. She?" Ruby says through her teeth.
"Do what you want Ruby. But I'll never tell you." Ruby smacks her with the gun again.
"Ruby, what are you doing??" I say. She doesn't answer me.
"Does your friend here know-" Ruby punches her this time.
"-that you're working for Vincent aka The Captain." It takes a second before it sinks in the realization of what she just said.
"Yeah, she's how we found Camila again in the first place." Ruby places the gun on the girl's temple as if to tell her to shut up.
"Do it, I know you w-" Ruby pulls the trigger. The woman's body flops to the ground. Ruby walks over to me and tries to grab my wrist, but I yank it free.
"Are you kidding me, Ruby?! Why the hell did you shoot her??"
"I'll explain in the car." She says.
"Like hell, you will!"
"Listen, I know you're mad at me, but right now. I am the only chance you've got at finding her. So you either work with me and get mad at me later or, don't work with me and I'll find her by myself." I say nothing and walk to the car.
