I was woken up by a long beeping sound and I opened my eyes and got up quickly. Why is there a beeping sound? I hate waking up early. It was two a.m. I moaned and got up and I see Charles walking out of the bathroom. He giggles and I sigh.
“What’s going on? Is there a fire or something?” I asked Charles and he starts to laugh.
“Polly we are going to school. Before you say anything, yes we do have to go to school. There is an all-vampire school that is close by. You will be in every single one of my classes so that no one can hurt you.” Charles said.
I nodded and walked into the bathroom and got a towel from the closet inside the bathroom. I made my way to the shower slowly still in a sleepy daze. I started the shower and waited for the water to warm up. I walked out of the bathroom and toward the bed and sat down next to Charles. He kissed my forehead and I smiled and so did he.
“I don’t really see the point in going to school. Can’t we just stay here?” I asked and he started laughing and I put on a pleading face.
“As much as I love your pleading faces, we still have to go,” said Charles.
I shrugged my shoulders and got up.
“Where are you going?” Charles asked me.
I laughed and walked toward the bathroom.
“I’m taking a shower. Can’t you tell?” I asked him. He laughed and did I.
I walked into the bathroom, got undressed, and got into the shower.
I finished my shower, wrapped a towel around myself, and got out of the bathroom. Charles walked into the bathroom and kissed me.
“I have to finish getting ready,” I told him. He leaned down and kissed me again. I walked out of the bathroom and headed toward my closet to get dressed. I found a pair of jeans and a white tank top with a black vest over it. I put on and added black boots with a two-inch heels. I found a leather jacket that stopped right above my stomach. I walked out of my closet and went to my dresser and found a black necklace and put it on and silver hoop earrings. Then for the finishing touch, I added my engagement ring.
“Ready to go... wow,” said Charles and I laughed.
“Ya, I’m all ready to go... wait I forgot to do my hair,” I told Charles and he giggled as I ran to the bathroom. I brushed my hair out and noticed a few streaks of red in my hair. I screamed and Charles came running in.
“What’s wrong Polly?” Charles asked me. I pointed to my hair and he laughed.
“Someone put red highlights in my hair!” I yelled. Charles laughed and held up a hand.
“I’m guilty of that.” He said and I punched him playfully on the arm. He laughed and I sighed.
“Next time ask me!” I yelled at him and he grinned.
“I knew you would say no so I just did it while you were sleeping,” Charles said. He laughed and wrapped his arm around my waist and brought me out of our room and out of the house. A car came around the side of the castle and stopped in front of us. He got in the driver’s side and I walked around and got into the passenger’s side. Charles leaned over and kissed my forehead. He started the car and pulled out of the driveway. We went through a different part of the woods.
“What if everyone hates me?” I asked Charles. He took my hand with his free hand.
“Polly no one can ever hate you,” Charles said and I smiled at him. It took us another five minutes to arrive at the school. Charles stopped the car and got out. He walked around to my door and opened it for me. He held out his hand and I took it. He helped me out of the car and we walked toward the school and many eyes were on us. A few of the guys flirted with me and Charles would growl at them. We walked into the school and to the main office.
“You must be Prince Charles and Polly,” said the main office secretary. She shook each of our hands and gave us our class list.
First-class: Ela
Second class: journalism
Third class: science
Lunch
Fifth class: gym
Sixth class: poetry
Seventh class: yearbook
“Well, at least we didn’t get math,” I said. Charles laughed and so did I. We headed to our first class and walked into the classroom and took our seats in the back. We got separated and I had to sit beside a girl and Charles was sitting next to a boy.
“Hi, I’m Lizzy,” she told me.
“Polly,” I told her and she shook my hand.
“Want to sit by me at lunch?” Lizzy asked me and I nodded my head.
“Ok. So what classes do you have?” Lizzy asked and I handed her my list of classes and she looked it over.
“I have all the same classes as you except for science and gym. We can sit next to each other in every class,” she said.
I looked over at Charles and saw that he was looking at me. I smiled at him and he smiled back at me. The teacher walks in and made us introduce ourselves. When it was my turn I froze. I looked around and said nothing. The teacher let it go and started teaching. Lizzy and I ran out of the classroom the minute the bell rang. We had journalism class next so we started looking for the classroom.
“Wait up Polly.” I heard Charles yell. He caught up to me and took my hand. I introduced him to Lizzy and told him that she was going to sit with us at lunch. We all walked into the next classroom and this time Charles and I got to sit next to each other.
“So, how are you liking it so far?” Charles asked me and I had to think about it for a minute.
“It’s pretty good,” I told him and he giggled and kissed me.
The teacher walked in and introduced us. I was happy he didn’t make us do it ourselves. I heard Charles laugh and I looked over at him and he didn’t say a thing. I sighed and started to take notes. A little while afterward the bell rang. I said goodbye to Lizzy as she headed toward her math class and Charles and I walked to science class together.
We sat beside each other once again. The teacher came in and told everyone that they had two new students. After that, we had to do an experiment dealing with dangerous chemicals and heat. Charles started the heat and I poured in the chemicals.
“It’s going to blow!” Charles yelled. He took me in his arms and we ducked under the table and heard it explode and he held onto me tighter.
“Can’t... breathe,” I said while gasping between words. He loosened his grip and took me out from under the table. The teacher came rushing toward us.
“You should take her to the nurse. It may not affect you but it can kill her,” the teacher told us.
Charles rushed me to the nurse’s office and sat me down. They talked for a while and then came over to me.
“Well you’re lucky that none of the chemicals got on you. You may go back to class.” the nurse told us.
Charles picked me up and brought me to the lunch room. Lunch started in one minute so he decided to just take me here. I saw humans walk into closed rooms and I shivered.
Charles kissed me and sat me down at a table. The bell rang and people were here in a few seconds.
Lizzy found us and sat next to me.
“I’m going to go get you some lunch Polly,” said Charles and I nodded my head and watched him go. A male vampire came and sat down next to me and moved my hair so that he could see my neck.
“You look so yummy,” he said.
“Back off!” I told him. He grinned and picked me up.
“Let me go!” I screamed. I kicked and punched him but he wouldn’t let go. He ran out of the lunchroom with me in his arms.
“Do you want to be my bride Polly?” he asked me.
“Never!” I told him and he laughed. I screamed for Charles and soon enough he came. He took me out of the guy’s arms and sat me down and ran toward the other guy and attacked him. They kept on fighting each other.
“Stop Charles, please. Stop before you get caught,” I grabbed his arm and he shook me off. Just then the principal came.
“Break it up!” she yelled. I held my ears because she yelled extremely loudly.
“You three in my office now!” she said. I looked at Charles and he took my hand and we walked to the principal’s office.
Charles and the other guy sat down. Charles put me on his lap and kissed my forehead.
“Now what happened?” asked the principal and I looked at Charles.
“He was trying to take Polly away and force her to marry him and let him drink from her,” Charles said.
“Is that true John?” she asked him. So that was his name.
“Yes. But who could resist her? She smells so good.” said John.
Charles held onto me tighter and I buried my head in his shoulder.
“Mr. John we have a human that is going to be our queen one day come here to learn, and you attack her. You are expelled John.” said the principal.
“But,” said John.
The principal pointed to the door.
“Out!” she yelled and I covered my ears.
“I’m so sorry Polly. You two are excused,” she said and I nodded my head.
Charles got up and took me out of the room.
“We are going home now Polly,” said Charles. I nodded and followed him out of the school.
