a song forged in the flames of false ideals,

where peace is stitched together with quiet betrayals,

and greed wears a crown of illusion.

The weight is crushing,

a surrender we never chose,

to the gnawing hunger of endless wants,

reaching for the sweetness of dreams

that promise escape,

but only tighten the chains.

The broken sleep in the shadows,

homes carved from faded hopes,

while the elite float above,

bathed in gold and glass,

swaddled in the decay of excess.

They run after money.

They chase stolen time.

Hands trembling,

grasping for something that always slips away,

an empty promise that haunts them,

but the distance grows,

and still, they race.

Men and women,

lost and hollow,

burned by the empty words they swallow,

the cold settling deep in their veins,

speaking in a language that means nothing,

a rebellion that dies before it's born.
