What is wealth but an altar of sand?

The people breathe in gilded air,

perfumed with promises of something more,

while the hillside cradles their glamour homes.

Above them, towers of glass glitter

with the silence of the untouchable.

A boy runs,

his shadow stretching behind him

as he chases something he can't name.

Not wealth, not time, but a version of himself

that never learned how to fall.

The world, stitched together with threads of deceit,

tightens its grip on his skin.

Each word, each touch,

a mark pressed into his soul

by hands he never asked for.
