The tide calls like a siren in the dark,

pulling me beneath its cold, endless grasp,

its touch a violent ache on my skin,

dragging me into the blackened liquid.

The water presses against me,

suffocating, pulling me closer,

before releasing its grip,

leaving me gasping for air,

only to return with a fiercer hunger.

I watch the horizon blur,

a place I can never reach,

a promise that dies with each wave,

as the tides rise and fall

with a rhythm that echoes in my chest,

an open thud of something lost.

I am nothing but the space between,

the push and pull,

the flow of a world

that devours me bit by bit,

an endless, mournful nature

between the shore and the sea.

it owns me,

and I am swallowed by it,

forever trapped in the dark embrace

of its ceaseless, aching rhythm.
