It was a dark night, as Bass approached the guy with the coil gun, ready to kill the guy who was about to shoot Charlie who was trapped under a heavy shelf. He couldn’t let him kill her. Miles’ family was his family. Besides, he had promised Rachel that he would save Charlie, no matter what. Then he did kill the guy with the coil gun he had in hands too and stepped into view.
She silently looked at him.
“Hello, Charlotte,” he greeted. “A thank you would be nice.”
He looked at her for a moment, before walking away to go find Miles.

It was a dark night, as Bass sat on a log across from where Charlie lay, a fire going, rain falling. He had just saved her life from a few guys who had poisoned her drink.
He watched over her, as she lay there, sharpening his knife while he waited for her to wake up.
When she finally woke up, he tossed her his flask that he had filled with water for her.
“Here,” he said. “You need to flush the poison out.”
“What did you do?” she accused him.
“I saved your life,” he answered.
She took a swig before asking, “How long was I out for?”
“A few hours. Don’t worry. I was a complete gentleman the whole time,” he answered her.

It was a dark night in Willoughby, Texas at the high school as Bas and Charlie looked for the others. Then, when he saw the exit, he stopped and gave her a look and she knew what he was going to do. Then she watched him go out the exit.
Half an hour later, when she was pinned to a wall with someone about to shoot her, Bass came back to see that and grabbed the gun and used it to knock the guy out. Then they went together to go find the others.
An hour later, they were hidden behind things, shooting rifles with the Patriots shooting back.
When he saw that one was at an angel to make his aim on Charlie, he turned and shot the Patriot down. As long as he was alive, he would not let harm come to her.
