SAKIKO'S DREAM
The sky is a dark red as SAKIKO stands in the woods, the silence calming her senses. The snow fell slowly, except it took a pink hue from the sky, instead of a winter wonderland, its a bloody massacre made from snow. SAKIKO wore an all white simple dress with thin straps that's surprisingly thin, but she didn’t feel cold. Instead she felt like a snowflake, free and calm, she smiles and spins around in the snow, looking up into the sky holding out her hands. Then she hears someone calling out her name faintly, despite wanting to stay SAKIKO follows the voice, her bare feet leaving small foot prints behind her. As she got closer to the voice goosebumps start to rise and finally SAKIKO felt cold . . . from fear. Her name gets called louder and louder with each step she took, after pushing back a bush there stood SAKIKO’S parents. Looking angrily at her like they’ve always done, she wanted to stop walking and tried with every fiber of her being to stop and walk away from them. But she couldn’t, and she didn’t want to know what’d happen once they got their hands on her.
MR. ONTURA: Look at you! You went outside and now your sick.
MR. ONTURA walks up to SAKIKO and grabs her wrist in his thick hand and drags her. SAKIKO stumbles and fights against his grasp, leaving a wild and disturbed snow path behind them. In the distance sits the house SAKIKO grew up in, in the blink of an eye their at the steps kicking down the door.
MRS. ONTURA (sinister smile) : Drag her into the bathroom.
SAKIKO’S eyes grow wide and MR. ONTURA pushes her to the ground, grabbing her wrist he drags her into the bathroom. SAKIKO screams and pinches his hands to let go, despite tearing skin off he never did. Once in the bathroom the water was already filled, the tub steaming with the promise its going to hurt. SAKIKO (screams and writhes) : No! Let me go!
They smile and did just that, falling in the water it burned like acid, coming up for air SAKIKO took a deep breath but immediately her parents hold her under. She fought to stay a float, screaming and thrashing from her parents hold and the painful hot water. Then she heard a familiar chuckle, and from her water torture behind her parents ROY comes in the bathroom. He looks over them, staring straight into SAKIKO'S eyes.
ROY: You should have been a good girl.
Pushing past her parents ROY takes over, grabbing her hair he shoves her head under the water, SAKIKO screams from the pain but regrets it once the water fills her lungs. He lets her go and SAKIKO quickly sits up, retching and coughing up water, crawling out the tub she's soaked head to toe. SAKIKO kept coughing and coughing making ROY click his tongue.
ROY: Pathetic girl.
He picks her up and in a flash, SAKIKO slams down onto a cold metal table. She didn't recognize the room, it's dark except a light hanging from the ceiling directly above them. ROY straps SAKIKO down and pulls out a metal rod from behind his back, immediately he strikes her face.
ROY: I told you to do one thing!
He swings again striking her throat, SAKIKO chokes for air as she coughs into fits.
ROY (gets angrier) : No! You had to run from me. I (strikes SAKIKO) am better (strikes again) than any (strikes again) person (strikes again) YOU WILL FIND!
He then drives the rod right through her thigh, SAKIKO knew no one will hear her as she silently shakes from the pain.
ROY (takes out a box of matches from pocket) : You will respect me. (Strikes match) or we will surely meet in hell.
He flicks the match to the ground and the place quickly catches fire as he smiles at her. The boxed room is finally shown as the flames spreads to the walls, ROY'S face glows from the flames as he continues to lock eyes with SAKIKO. He gets closer to her, as if to make sure no one else heard this.
ROY: And that . . . is a promise.
ROY backs up and disappears into the fire, leaving SAKIKO to the flames. She struggles to break free from the restraints but is proven useless as the straps don't budge. Smoke starts to gather and clouds around SAKIKO'S face making her go into another coughing fit.
SAKIKO (weakly) : help (coughs violently).
But no one came, just as SAKIKO suspected.

SAKIKO wakes from her dream, lunging forward she starts coughing uncontrollably, AKISE immediately wakes up and in an instant she leaves the fort to grab SAKIKO’S medication on the counter. Despite how much SAKIKO coughed, tears came to her eyes the moment AKISE comes back with the pill and a cup of water in hand. AKISE tries to hand it her but SAKIKO just slaps her hand away as she continues to cough.
AKISE: Fine, we'll do this the hard way.
Grabbing SAKIKO, AKISE wraps her legs around her and locks her in as she uses an arm to restrain her and the other to shove a pill down SAKIKO'S throat. Once AKISE put the pill in her mouth she clamps down tight to avoid her spitting it out. And finally SAKIKO gave in and swallows the nasty pill before it leaves even more of a bad taste in her mouth. AKISE loosens her hold but she never moves from her spot and SAKIKO just sits there with AKISE, using her shoulder to rest her head. After a couple minutes the coughing starts to die down, SAKIKO'S throat felt raw. She reaches out for the water and AKISE hands it to her. SAKIKO gulps it down, the water helped ease the burning sensation in her throat, somewhat. Once the pill took away the cough that's when the grogginess comes in, making SAKIKO lay down, resting her head on AKISE'S lap. AKISE smooths down her sweaty hair, the feel of it calmed AKISE'S frantic senses. AKISE imagines how hard her heart would be thumping in her chest right now, scared something could've happened to SAKIKO.
AKISE (stern) : You need to take your medicine. It's non-negotiable anymore, we'll set up a system for you so this never happens again.
SAKIKO: I’m sorry, your right, I’ll take them on time for now on. It’s just they taste terrible, I don’t like the way they make my tongue feel like it’s made of Styrofoam. Oh, and you don’t have to worry so much sometimes, it can be a little much.
AKISE couldn't help but smile at SAKIKO'S complaint, she pulls SAKIKO into her lap, holding her small body in her arms gently.
AKISE: I have every right to worry over you, you're my baby.
From the pulled back fort flap AKISE looks over to the movie credits scrolling up the screen lazily.
AKISE: Damn, the movie is over already?
SAKIKO looks over at AKISE and eyes her.
SAKIKO: I swear your like a cat, you just sleep wherever you please.
AKISE couldn't help but burst into laughter, earning a smile from SAKIKO who reaches up and lightly tugs on a blue curl.
AKISE (calms laughter) : I do don't I? I guess it's just a vampire thing, I never feel rested no matter how much I sleep. Sleeping is an old habit, I guess.
Then, a knock comes to the door.
AKISE (mumbles to self) : What the fuck?
Looking over at the dashboard the time read 1:38 AM; ‘late indeed’, AKISE thinks to herself. Getting up to go investigate SAKIKO stays in the blanket fort while AKISE looked through the peep hole and what she saw next made her snarl. Looking at ROY’S smug face angers AKISE, walking away from the door she goes back to the fort and picks up SAKIKO. Walking straight to SAKIKO’S room and placing her on the bed, SAKIKO gives a curious expression.
SAKIKO: What's wrong? Who's at the door? Is it one of those scammers who tried to rob us last time?
AKISE (growls) : It's him.
Instantly dread fills SAKIKO’S eyes and her pale skin turned paler, making her look deathly sick..
AKISE: Stay here, I'll just tell him your at a friend's house.
AKISE turns around and leaves the room closing SAKIKO’S door gently, the knocks turned into poundings making the walls vibrate.
AKISE (rages quietly) : Hold your fucking horses.
Storming down the hallway to the front door AKISE rips it open making ROY stop mid-air for another pounding on the door. Putting down his fist and smoothing down his hair he clears his throat.
ROY: Hey Akise! Remember me? It's Roy, uh- is Sakiko there?
AKISE knew the friendliness was a rouse and wanted to reveal his true colors.
AKISE (leans against frame and looks at her fingernails) : Who wants to know?
ROY (frowns in confusion) : Um, me, her fiancée.
AKISE (fakes surprise) : Ooh! Oh oh! That's right, this fucking guy uh ya she's not here. First thing (holds up a finger) she's at a friend's house spending the night and two (lifts second finger) Sakiko . . . is mine. So back the fuck off.
And just like that the friendly demeanor drops and the true colors show just as AKISE wanted.
ROY (smile tightens) : Is that so? Well then I guess I'll have to take you out the picture then, huh?
Whipping out an army knife he slashes AKISE'S direction who quickly backs from the attack. When he goes for another slash she grabs his wrist, twists it behind his back and shoves him out into the cold open air. He drops the knife in the snow and AKISE walks up to him and punches him straight in the face. Hearing the crunch of his nose, she smiles to herself in pleasure from the sick noise. ROY fell to the snow with blood gushing out, AKISE looks at her fist to see some blood spots. She licks the blood off and holds up her fists in defense.
AKISE: Let's fucking finish this shit.

BACK IN SAKIKO'S ROOM BEFORE THE FIGHT
SAKIKO sits on her bed as she strains to make out the words but all she got are soft murmurs of voices talking back and forth to each other. ′There’s no way Roy can hurt Akise‘, SAKIKO thinks to calm herself, but despite reassuring herself her imagination still played along. SAKIKO moves to the window the moment she heard a loud grunt, AKISE hovers over ROY who lied in the snow covering his nose that is now gushing out blood. SAKIKO couldn’t hear anything but mouths were moving, but as ROY distracted her he slowly reaches for a broken piece of wood poking out of the snow. Without thinking SAKIKO jumps out of bed and rushes out the door, afraid of the worse possible outcome. ’You can’t be afraid‘, SAKIKO tells herself. Running down the hallway she almost trips on her own feet, ’don’t be afraid!′ Reaching outside SAKIKO dashes to ROY’S side and yanks the wood right of his hand the moment he picks it up to hit AKISE with.
SAKIKO (shaking) : I WON'T BE AFRAID!
As ROY got up SAKIKO took her turn and she punches him straight to the ground again. Furious he gets up and throws snow in SAKIKO'S eyes, giving him the opportunity to tackle SAKIKO to the ground.
AKISE: HEY!
AKISE starts rushing over to help SAKIKO.
SAKIKO: No!
AKISE stops and ROY is now on top of her trying to throw more punches at SAKIKO who blocks his fists by taking them into her hands. Surprisingly keeping up with his strength.
SAKIKO (keeps eye contact with ROY) : This is my fight AKISE! I have to do this myself.
Looking on her other side lies the knife ROY dropped. Getting her feet under his belly she lifts ROY and kicks him off her. Quickly getting up SAKIKO goes straight for the knife and obtains it, clenching the handle with both hands as she wields it in front of her. Pointing it straight at ROY who froze and rose his hands up, but that it's, SAKIKO doesn't move and ROY starts to laugh.
ROY: That's what I thought, you seriously think you could do anything? You can't do anything with that, you can't even stand right now!
SAKIKO (glares) : That's what you think.
Charging at him without another thought ROY had little time to react and the knife sinks deeply into his thigh. Crying out he didn't hesitate to pull out the knife and use it back on SAKIKO, getting a slice on her side. Then a black get away car pulls up and honks, ROY jumps at the loud noise but quickly limps to the vehicle. Before getting in he turns around and points at SAKIKO, a new fire in his eye.
ROY: I'll be back Sakiko, you better watch yourself.
He then hops into the car and before he could even shut the door the car speeds off into the night, hearing the screeches in the distance as it turns corners to lose their tracks. AKISE starts to run after them but the side wound causes SAKIKO to drop to the ground in pain. AKISE stops and turns around but turns back to the road, wanting to hunt down those pricks and deal with them one by one but SAKIKO needed attention right now. Screaming back at the empty road like a vulgar sailor, AKISE goes straight to SAKIKO. Who smiles up at AKISE, proud of herself for (semi) taking care of the problem.
SAKIKO (happily) : I did it Akise.
AKISE looks at the wound and raises an eyebrow in confusion, she did not look at this situation as a win. SAKIKO tries to laugh it off but her side hurt too much for her to do that. So she keeps talking.
SAKIKO: I faced my fears, just like you.
Despite how AKISE felt she still smiles proudly for SAKIKO, and with her help SAKIKO stands up and leans on AKISE for support and they walk back into the house. They move to the couch and AKISE inspects SAKIKO'S wound, wasn't fatal but it still had to be patched up. AKISE fixes SAKIKO up with no problems but the house is silent.
SAKIKO (worried) : Why are you being so quiet? You should be happy.
AKISE (shakes her head) : I can't, I'm still furious, it's hard to think straight. (Laughs weakly) I can't even patch you up.
SAKIKO (frowns as she looks at the patch job) : I think you did well.
AKISE: You always think I do well, even when I fail.
SAKIKO: That might be true, but you gotta give yourself more credit.
AKISE smiles softly at SAKIKO, she could never get enough of her kindness and affection. Leaning down to avoid moving SAKIKO she softly kisses her lips, SAKIKO kisses back, opening AKISE’S mouth and stroking her tongue against hers. AKISE slightly moans at the warm wetness of her mouth, she then picks up SAKIKO like she was a bride and brings her to her bed. Before AKISE could leave SAKIKO clears her throat, making her turn around.
SAKIKO: Um . . . Akise? Can you actually sleep with me tonight?
AKISE (smiles) : Sure, anything for you baby.
Slipping under the pink comforter AKISE grabs one of the many pillows SAKIKO has and lays on it, facing SAKIKO. SAKIKO smiles and in a couple seconds she starts to close her eyes and slowly she fell asleep. AKISE watches her sleep for a while, taking in every pretty detail about her, ingraining her face in memory over and over. Then AKISE decides to fall asleep and she dreams her and SAKIKO having a cupcake fight.
