Stan wakes up in a metal house,he gets up with his body hurting and his head close to reach the roof,opposite of him he sees mason sleeping and flicks a smile and Stan then goes out with small steps opening the door,the two suns lightrays struck him and his eyes flick until he get used to them, watching more buildings getting constructed and people holding food and pieces of Icarus, leaving them close to the drones that construct the buildings and he gets called by a soldier telling him "you there,you know how to fix the three d drones?" Stan shake his head affirmative and follows him among the people and the soldiers, some placing seeds and watching them with care, others cutting some scatered tree branches and drinking water from it and robots getting reconstructed by the soldiers piece by piece from the fall of Icarus "can you explain me what have happened in the forest?"
"you must be one of those who survived the attack of these creatures" he sight and continue "we manage to kill most of them, lost five hundred people and then we leaved the forest and came here and now everything you see here is what we accomplish in the span of ten suns "
"ten suns?"
everyone have lost the sense of time here and the day and nights are shorter so we establish this new system"
the convarsasion end here
and the soldier stops and move sideways,Stan look at Jorogumo as she change wires and circuits from the robot,Stan moves closer and says "miss Jorogumo can you back up for me to fix it?" Jorogumo look at him and says "just call me Jorogumo and yes" she moves to the side and Stan grabs the robot, connecting the wires one by one and then closing it and rebooting it,now flying and continue constructing the building,Jorogumo then open her hand towards him and says "it seems you know very well how to fix these robots"
"i learned about robotics and engineering at the cambridge university"
"then explain to me how a man like you end up here?"
"well you know that for almost every task there was a robot and the only job that i could have was to fix the robots but there was no job for me even for this,everything was already taken"
Jorogumo grit her teeth and then continues "thats what happens when goverments take their infant laws because people are just idiots"
Stan look with his eyebrows up and Jorogumo look at him with silence,and then continue
"im sorry, i was a little impulsive about this, i should depart now and stay safe here"
Stan smile at her and She leaves,Stan continues to see the settlement, robots cleaning or cutting grass and woods, collecting water and more of them coming from the vehicles and taking orders.
The night falls and lights shine in the settlement like a smile fire in the open fields. People go to their houses with many entering the same house as others, a hand greet stan from behind and he felt a shock on his body,steping back and looking at mason
"you scared the life out of me"
"im really sorry for that"
"how do you feel?"
mason look at him with his eyes half closed "i have a little headache thats all,can you explain me what is happening here?"
Stan explain to him what he know and their attention shifted to a large fire the people made.
Mason look at Stans again and he gravs him from his shoulder saying "lets go spent some time there"
Mason pushes Stan before opening his mouth and as they approach they hear an ephoria female voice singing,they walk closer looking at men and women sitting and hearing her as she watch the fire and the soldiers that guard the place taking their eyes from time to time and watching her.
Mason and Stan sit there listening to her,with Stan looking at the slim dark long haired girl that sit on the ground with his pupils expanding and focused on her,Mason then look at him and drops a small laugh with Stan staying still on her until she ends her song,after that Jorogumo comes from the shadows and starts talking "im sorry to interupt you from your songs but i have to make you an announcement,despite losing many of our people and having no means to leave from here we are doing really well,our robots and weapons are at a very pleasant condition and it seems food can grown in these lands but quite slow unlike the fruits and vengetables in the solar greenhouses"
everone show confidence in their faces and then Joroguno continues "but we have many more problems rising,the solar greenhouses cannot use the energy of these two suns and when their remaining energy runs out we have to wait even more for them to grow, even risking of running out of food and for our chances of survival to increase we will have to start hunting while simutaniously i look for the energy source we are searching and trying to communicate with the USS"
the confidence swiftly fade from the people
"i want to know from now who is willing to come hunt "
Mason quickly raise his hand and then Stan followed him,the girl who sang and many more raise it,
Jorogumo continues with the same unmotional face she started "very well, i hope you have a pleasant night then" Jorogumo leaves in the shadows she previously came and everyone starts departing ,with Stan sitting there and watch the girl until she leaves his view,he then gets up and Mason watch him with his one eyebrow lift up,Stan look at him and laughs saying "she is cute"
they then go into their house almost unable to see anything without lights but finding their beds and sleeping .
The next day comes and Stan and Mason wake up dizzy and their eyes half open, they get up and went outside,they feel their stomachs hollow and ask a short man some meters opposite of them "good morning ,sorry to interrupt you but could you tell us where can we get some food?"
the man point his hand right,on soldiers giving food to those who ask "you just have to go there and ask"
"thank you"
Mason and Stan approach the soldiers and ask for food,giving them some bread and vegetables in plates "return the plates to us when you done" they say and then leave.
They eat their meal and give the plates back,a soldier then comes and tells them "Jorogumo wants to see you" Mason and Stan look one another and they follow the soldier outside the settlement in a hill, with a crowd of people there and two vehicles,they blend inside the crowd and hear as Jorogumo speak to them "to ensure our chances of survival we have to start hunting,one of my team have spotted a place with many harbivores that can possibly be used as sources of food,so however wants to help himfelf and the others in this settlement come forward.
Mason quickly goes forth with Stan following him, with the girl black haired girl that she sang yesterday and Kalevi.
Jorogumo then announce "from now and onward you will start training for one week and then you will start hunting"
the soldiers gave weapons and instructions to the volunteers,making a line in the wide open field and start firing at the trees.
