The sound of the metal scraping wakes everyone on the ship. Most of the people wake up with black circles in their eyes, grumbling or thinking it is waste of the little energy they have to grumble.
But some of them wake with excitement like Stan.
Even though the scraping and the difficulties of the first time in space Stan wakes up and walk with a fast pace outside the sleeping room, making to the long bridge and to the small garden with glass covering the roof, he sit on a small bench and looks the exotic flower on he's side with orange color on its petals and yellow on its end.
He then take his look on the surroundings seeing the trees and the flower, the cheerful and the tired people, he then let his head lean back and looks to the galaxy, the red clouds forming an image of a bird with its wings high.
A voice then greets him saying "how can you do that every day, I would got bored in the first ten minutes"
Stan smirk "every time is different, the colors, the light ,even the shape of the cloud"
"I will never understand you Stan, wasting your time in this clouds without getting bored"
He respond with a smile 'maybe you will understand Alina,maybe one day"
She smirk and then waves at him continuing her way , Stan then look back to the clouds forming the bird going down.
A voice in the speakers interrupts his peace saying "an announce to all the members, we have reached the rift and we are ready to departed, please everyone come to the hall room wearing your suits "
Everyone abandons what they were doing and head to the hall room, Stan takes his head from the cloud and gets up with an explosive move.
in his heart he feel a feeling of excitement and swiftly goes to wear his suit and swiftly again going in the hall room, everyone gathered there in the empty metal dome with only a small stage close to the the opposite to Stan, he then meets Alina and an orange skinned man with shorter limbs than the usual martians and an exoskeleton to help his strengh match the one of a human on earth , the three of them chat about their payment and how they will rise to the middle class with the new potentials that will be created after this expedition.
A tall young woman with red eyes and a small scar under her eye steps in the stage,wearing a dark uniform with only three bright yellow emblems showing a woman with the planets of the solar system behind him, resting on her chest and washing away the monotony of the uniform, the woman then with speaks to everyone with a clear loud light voice and a serious face "it is really beautiful to see today in this ship that even after the brink of war that humanity faced ,people from all of our solar system came today to obtain our next energy source to help us colonise planets and boundaries beyond our imagination, i am really greatful to work with you and bring a new era for the human kind" the woman bow and many with Stan and Alina included cheer yelling with smiles "jorogumo, jorogumo" Stan cheer, shoulder by shoulder with Alina and the man jumping up and down.
suddenly Stan hears a grunt behind him he looks back for a glimpse and sees a tall man with a long dark beard, the same color as his eyes ,eyebrows and hair but he just let it pass,the voice in the speakers then announce "icarus is almost ready for the jump, please stay calm"
The cheer stops with the intense scrape of the metals and the voice starts counting "five, four, three
, two, one" then in a glimpse everything became black.
