I can do nothing, but stare straight ahead, unable to speak or move my body as I just sit there on a chair, wearing the armor similar to what Ryland used to wear. Wearing armour while sitting down is really uncomfortable. The temperature as of today has dropped greatly, this world getting even colder and my body feels stiff, butt in agony from just sitting on this chair unable to move.
Feeling different, not myself is disconcerting for me.
Whatever happened to me after I passed out, left me awake, but locked into my body and unable to voice my opinion, nor argue. I'm not in control. I woke up on this chair and have been alone for hours until just now. Sebastian and Rain are in the room, they're office. They're standing by his desk, looking out the window at the Community as the sun rises, but that doesn't help make anything less cold.
I don't think anything's going to be getting better now for me, only worse or my friends for that matter. Where are my friends?
Sam's back to being out of action while Owen and Avery are dead and I know that for a fact, my friends fate is unknown, just that they were carted off, Harriet ran away or something with some random guy from the the exiled section of the city accompanied by some hologram and Shelby Brown... I honestly don't know entirely.
I hear a set of footsteps and a person stops right in-front of me. I blink my eyes upon seeing her., Shelby! She's dressed up in a slightly girly attire than I've ever seen her wear and her hair is into pigtails, but her face is stern.
She gently pokes me in the nose with the tip of her finger, saying 'boop!' and then she slaps me, letting out a slight maniac laugh and places her hands on her hips, grinning. Sebastian and Rain haven't noticed this. What is she playing at?! I can tell she's more like her normal self, but she's faking being different? If I could scoff at her right now, I would.
"Well, you're certainly different this morning. Nothing like the girl who's screams kept me awake last night!" She hisses. "Sherbet!" Sebastian scolds, turning around, his hands behind his back. Rain strides over to Shelby, pulling her away from me slightly.
"Sorry, Mummy and Daddy." Shelby pouts.
"Oh, it's alright our angel, but just be careful with her, I don't want her face bruised up or any part of her for that matter." Sebastian states. "Sorry, I won't do it again." Shelby adds on. apologizes, looking hurt. They reassure her it's okay, Sebastian patting her hair with his hand.
"So, any word on Harriet from the Guards?" Sebastian speaks up. "No, sissy's just gone." Shelby responds, twirling the end of her pigtail with her finger and her foot moving around.
"She's really not worth it, Sebastian. We chased her once, let's just her leave if that's what she wants to do. Maybe she'll come crawling back to us next time?" Rain suggests to him rather snappily.
Sebastian let's out a grunt and turns to face me. "How are you doing this morning?" He asks, holding a hand out which he quickly pulls away. "Oh, right! You're locked in there and can't shake my hand!" He laughs, taunting me.
"But I know that you understand every word I'm saying, huh, Valerie?" He says with a sly grin before standing up straight. "Right, I want the Guards to get everything ready. Go tell them to make the arrangement. By noon tomorrow, we will have the one game we've been building up too, just with less contestants than we planned on initially...." He says walking away from me.
"Because I say so and you, Valerie will be our winner!" He says quickly, turning around, spooking me, but I can't flinch or anything. It's really uncomfortable and even hurts. It's like an itch I can't scratch.
And then they all burst into laughter in-front of me. "Come on, let's go prepare ourselves some breakfast. You can go change, Shelby. We need you out on the field with the Guards." Rain tells her which she nods at, excitedly that she's pleasing them.
"What about her?" Shelby asks, looking in my direction. "Oh, don't worry about her. It's not like she can go anywhere. Till I want her to go somewhere that is." Sebastian snickers and they flick the chandelier above, off and slam the door shut behind them of their office, leaving me alone, paralyzed with just thoughts for company and my inner-most thoughts right now?
I hate them all and I want them dead after everything they've done to me and more importantly my friends and others that I've come to call my friends here.
