It takes a special kind of awkwardness to almost poke out your own eye. I was sitting with my knees drawn up and tried to stretch my arms up, only to have my thumb kiss my eyeball. It's not a common occurrence, but when it happens, I feel so confused and afraid. Mind you, the pain always feels worse than if someone accidentally smacked your eye. Thought I was going to be blind for a few minutes there. Your body is supposed to be aware of all its bits and pieces (except pinky toes), so how does this happen?!!
