That day, Sam went down to the basement of the new headquarters to start his investigation of Vincent's past after Death gave him a tour. He went to a library that held books that were far beyond this world. In hopes of finding knowledge of the other world that would help solve the past of Vincent. But all found there were books about strange things but none of them had anything in it that could lead him to where he should look for what he wanted. The only thing was one book that looked interesting called "The Unseen World". It was about things that go on in the world you can't see or hear and don't know what they are. There was a lot of talk in it about how there were things living under the ground, some good and some bad. Which kinda related to the other world Vincent was talking about. So Sam went home with the book thinking that maybe something in it might tell him more about Vincent's past. That night Sam didn't sleep very well and when he woke up the next morning he was a little tired.

Meanwhile, after departing with Sam, Death feels an urge to figure out Vincent's past as fast as possible, after some brainstorming, he comes up with a foolproof idea. Since the only way to figure out Vincent's past is by going back in time, Death simply needs to find out who Vincent really was before he became a vampire. It should be easy since all his records should still exist. And if they did not, then his parents should have kept an accurate record of their son even though he was human at that time. Death decided to check on these facts first to see if he got lucky. After some thought, Death decides to visit the town where Vincent was born and see if he could locate any information concerning his past.
Death went into the house where Vincent was born and searched through the documents there, but all he found was a rather disturbing story of a young couple who had a baby boy on a cold winter night. They named him Vincent and although they loved him dearly, they couldn't afford to feed him so they gave him to a family of vampires. This family raised the child until he was six years old when they made him into a vampire himself. The records show that the mother and father visited their son once in a while thereafter, but since he was now a vampire, he was unable to contact them directly. A few months later, the father died in mysterious circumstances, leaving his widow to raise her son alone.
After hearing the entire story, Death felt quite sure that the boy whose name was Vincent was the same boy that he met in the graveyard. Although he knew that the boy had been changed into a vampire, Death was not afraid of him anymore because he wasn't anything elses; but in fact, in deep affection to the Vince.
Therefore, Death decided to wait for his chance to return to the other world and hopefully show his feelings to him. Death left the house feeling somewhat relieved and returned to his own world.
