As Raegan walked down the halls of Hogwarts, everything was normal in year 3. If you count James as he cast a hex onto the floor in front of Severus as normal, that is. As the older boy slipped, he dropped his books, almost hitting his nose. James and the Mauraders howled with laughter as Raegan shot them an eye roll.
“What are you doing, Blackthorn? Go help your slimy friend up!” James taunted, but Raegan knew it was just a joke… They hoped. Yet, when Raegan approached the groaning Slytherin, they felt a sudden wave of energy. Raegan was who you'd call a Legillimens, and they opted to keep it a secret... The words, loud and clear, reverberated in their head.
“Leave me alone.”
Severus would have said his thought out loud, maybe they would have done just that… But they’d already seen what he wanted to say…
Raegan bent down to help him gather his books. “Leave me alone, Blackthorn. I didn’t ask for your charity.”
“Oh, I know you didn’t…” Raegan said. Out of curiosity, they sent him a mind message as well. “I know what you said.”
His eyes glanced up at the other momentarily, not saying a word. Eventually, they finished gathering the books and stood up. Raegan handed him the ones they’d gathered.
“Well,” they said, dusting their robes down. “I’ll be off.”
“Of course you are,” Severus thought as Raegan read his mind once again. “House traitor.”
Raegan grimaced and shot him a look of disgust, thinking, “House traitor? Excuse you! Who’s hanging out with a certain redhead every other day, hm? Oh, don’t lie– Hey! Stop thinking about Bezoars– I saw her in your mind just now!”
Severus gave them an equally frustrated and incredulous expression. “You don’t have to keep peering through my mind…” He said, slowly enunciating each word through gritted teeth with a surprising tolerance. “The only thing I see in yours,” he continued. “Is a certain boy–”
“Yeah, well–” They were cut off once again. “Not another word. I’ve seen enough… literally…” He waltzed away, his robe flying majestically behind him, for some odd reason.
Behind them, they could hear the Marauders snickering, minus Remus because he just looked disappointed. Raegan threw James a middle finger, he caught it and threw it back, and the day went on as per usual… Except now Raegan learned something new about good ‘ol Severus Snape.

[A/N]: Short first chapter, I know. I was just getting into it at the time. But I guess that's okay since you're just dipping your toes in for a bit. Probably going to post the second one right after. 306Please respect copyright.PENANAuxCdrXS3zi

Also, in case you haven't caught on yet, Raegan's pronouns are They/He. Thank you~
