Raegan and Remus sat in the back of the library, studying for that semester’s exams. Either would occasionally wave their wand to recall or return books on their shelves. Such was life until a certain Black Dog showed up.
“How’s my Moony doing~?”
Raegan didn’t even have to look up to know who it was. The perks of being a Legillemens was knowing things people didn’t think you’d know. A small downside was keeping track of what they thought you knew. But Raegan knew damn well that the two of them , Moony and Pads, were in love… but neither one knew it, ironically. “Sirius, I’m studying…” Remus muttered, his nose buried in a book about runes. “You’ve studied enough. Come on, I’m going to pull a prank on James– It’ll be great–”
“Yeah, well, good for you gifted kids who don’t have to bend over just to memorize something… you’ve been born with natural talent…” Remus said, still keeping his eyes on the pages. Raegan didn’t dare say a word, fearing a few "odd" suggestions might slip out.
“Hey, it’s not like that’s my fault!” Sirius reasoned. Remus finally looked up at him and said with an exasperated ring. “And I’m not blaming you. I blame the gods above for giving me a brain that would like to focus on something else than whatever this is–”
“What would you like to focus on~?”
“Oh, for crying out loud, Padfoot, Fuck off,” Raegan finally spoke, kicking their dirty boots off the table. The librarian shot them a poignant expression.
“Look who finally decided to speak,” Sirius directed his attention to them. “Done telepathically cannoodling with Snivellus?”
“Please, I tried to help him. But now... he hates me,” Raegan said in an annoyed mutter. “Besides, I think he’s learning Occlumency now, bloody hell…”
Sirius’ expression was amused for a moment, but melted into disappointment. “Aw shit… you could’ve spied on his thoughts for us–”
“Padfoot!” both Remus and Raegan groaned in annoyance. They gave each other bemused expressions. “Great, now you’re hogging Remus all to yourself…” Sirius said, but relented. “I don’t trust you one bit, Blackthorn… not until you prove yourself–”
“I have nothing to prove to anyone who won’t even think of believing a word I say,” Raegan said, glazing over the textbook. “...won’t even believe you’re in love with a certain werewolf…” they added in an inaudible grumble.
“What’s that?” Remus peered over his papers. Raegan cleared their throat. “Oh I just said that Sirius was such a bother… together with that essay we have to do on werewolves. I didn’t get to work on it yet.”
Remus perked up. “Oh, really? Need help? I’m done with that– quite easy, really–”
Good. Remus still doesn’t know.
More often than not, Raegan would like to hide the fact they could see through people…in fear they might shy away from them.
