Three days had passed since the chaotic events unfolded in the meeting chamber of the Jack Kingdom in the Areala Universe. Back in the Land of Spade, a new chapter began, one that was marked by a different kind of preparation.
Captain Solari stood proudly before the newly constructed base, a masterpiece of architectural and strategic ingenuity. The base was nestled in a remote area of the Land of Spade, hidden from prying eyes and built with the strongest materials. She christened it Fort Vigilance, a name meant to symbolize their unyielding watch over the threats that loomed in the distance. It gleamed under the pale sky, a beacon of hope and strength for the mages who would soon take refuge within its walls.
Solari walked along the ramparts, marveling at the advanced defenses and the energy pulsing through the core of the base. Everything was perfect. "Fort Vigilance..." she muttered to herself, smiling at the name, knowing the role this place would soon play in their ongoing battle.
Not too far from her, Kiera Voss sat under a familiar tree, the same one where Captain Doran had taken his rest days earlier. With a pile of paperwork in her lap, she glanced at the documents but her mind was elsewhere. Her thoughts drifted to Seraphina and Doran. She whispered to herself, "They should’ve reached Elder Aeliana’s location by now." A small sigh escaped her lips. "Captain Doran..." she muttered softly, knowing he could be clumsy, yet she reassured herself. When it came to battle, no one was more capable or sharper than him.
Suddenly, her communicator buzzed, pulling her out of her thoughts. It was a call from her older brother, Xavian "Deadshot" Voss, a man known across the universes for his deadly accuracy and sharp wit.
"Kiera, how's everything over there?" Xavian’s voice came through the line, a rare sound considering it had been weeks since they last spoke.
Kiera smiled, relieved to hear from him. "The base is complete, Xavian. Fort Vigilance is officially ready. What about you? How are things?"
There was a brief pause on Xavian’s end before he spoke again, his tone much more serious this time. "Not great. The Areala Universe is pretty much lost. A dark shadow has consumed almost every planet. The entire universe is becoming uninhabitable."
Kiera’s heart sank. "Xavian... you need to come here. Come to the Land of Spade. It’s not safe for you there."
Xavian chuckled softly, his usual carefree tone returning. "I’m fine, little sis. I was just calling to check in on you. You’ve got bigger problems on your hands than the Eclipse Sovereignty, from what I’ve seen. That meeting on Spadaria... didn’t exactly go well, did it?"
Kiera frowned. "No, it didn’t. It’s been a mess, Xavian. Things are spiraling out of control faster than we anticipated."
Xavian sighed. "Keep your guard up, Kiera. Things might come your way sooner than you think."
"Xavian, please... just come to the base," Kiera pleaded, her voice full of concern.
But before Xavian could answer, the call cut out abruptly. The sudden silence left Kiera feeling uneasy. She stared at the communicator, worry clouding her mind. "Xavian..." she whispered, fearing the worst.
In the Azure Universe, the scene shifted to a cold and dark castle situated on a moon orbiting one of the distant planets. Inside the grand hall, Elder Moros and Captain Elowen were bound tightly by Morrigan's Nether Binding chains. The room was dimly lit, the oppressive atmosphere matching the mood of its prisoners.
"You won’t get away with this!" Elder Moros shouted, struggling against his chains.
Morrigan, clearly annoyed, rolled her eyes. "When will you stop with the noise, old man? It’s pointless. No one’s coming for you."
Captain Elowen spoke up. "What do you plan to do with us?"
Morrigan’s response was sharp and cold. "That’s none of your concern, Elowen."
Just then, the grand doors opened, and King Arion strode into the hall with his usual air of authority. "Begin the preparations for the transformation," he ordered, his voice echoing through the chamber.
Elder Moros, confused and worried, asked, "Transformation? What are you talking about?"
King Arion approached Moros, crouching down in front of him with a mocking smile. "Do you really think Lila is going to come and save you, Moros?"
Elder Moros stayed silent, his fear evident in his eyes.
King Arion’s smile widened. "That’s what I thought. You’re helpless. Just a stepping stone in our plan."
Captain Elowen, defiant, asked, "Where are Tenzin and Zephyros?"
Morrigan, clearly irritated, slapped Elowen hard across the face. "That is none of your concern either."
Before Elowen could respond, a dark presence filled the room, sending a chill through the air. Morrigan and King Arion turned their heads, sensing the arrival of someone dangerous.
From the shadows, a figure emerged. He stepped into the dim light, revealing himself as Darius Kaine.
King Arion’s eyes glowed with fury as he stood up, his magic crackling around him. "How did you find this place?"
Darius Kaine chuckled, his voice dripping with arrogance. "That’s not the concern right now."
Morrigan, enraged by the disrespect, made a move to strike Darius, but he simply vanished into a shadow, reappearing perched on one of the chandelier lights above them.
"I have a proposal," Darius Kaine said casually, as if he weren’t in enemy territory. "I want Captain Elowen. In exchange, I’ll return someone just as valuable."
King Arion’s eyes narrowed. "I know who you are, Darius Kaine. You’re a member of the Eclipse Sovereignty."
Morrigan’s eyes widened in surprise at the revelation.
King Arion’s voice dripped with contempt. "You have the audacity to step into my universe and think you’ll leave here alive?"
Darius Kaine chuckled darkly. "I wouldn’t have come alone if I didn’t know what I was doing." His smile grew wider as three shadows materialized around the room, surrounding King Arion, Morrigan, and the chained Elder Moros and Captain Elowen.
The chapter ended there, the tension hanging thick in the air as the presence of the Eclipse Sovereignty loomed ever closer.21Please respect copyright.PENANAGikcMg7ZY3
