The air was dense with raw power as Malakar slowly rose to his feet, his body glowing with an ominous, multicolored aura that pulsed like a living storm. He dusted himself off, his gaze fixed on Seraphina with a chilling calmness.
“You truly believe you are the strongest, don’t you?” Malakar’s voice carried an unsettling resonance, each word cutting through the air like a blade. “You remind me of him many hundreds of years ago. And the result will be the same…” He extended his arms, the aura around him growing chaotic and volatile. “Chaotic Ascension.”
In an instant, Malakar transcended his physical form, his body morphing into a swirling vortex of constantly shifting energy. His new form made him immune to conventional attacks, his movements an unpredictable dance of chaos. Before Seraphina could react, Malakar appeared directly in front of her with blinding speed and struck her chest with a devastating blow. The impact was cataclysmic, sending her plummeting to the ground, carving a deep trench into the earth.
Malakar leapt high into the air, both hands raised above his head as a massive sphere of energy began to coalesce. It crackled and pulsated, shrinking to the size of a marble as its destructive potential condensed into a singularity. “Abyssal Annihilation Sphere!” Malakar roared, launching the tiny sphere toward Seraphina. It detonated on impact, the blast radius spanning a full mile, obliterating everything in its path.
As the dust settled, Malakar hovered in the air, his arms crossed in satisfaction. But to his surprise, Seraphina emerged from the wreckage, her form glowing with an intense fiery light. She was unscathed, her body encased in her Demonic Inferno Armor, the flames of Hellfire shielding her from the brunt of the attack.
Seraphina’s voice cut through the silence. “You’ll need more than parlor tricks to bring me down.” With a burst of power, she launched herself into the air, summoning her devastating ability: Infernal Devastation. Hellfire erupted from the core of the Land of Spade itself, hurtling toward Malakar with destructive intent.
Malakar laughed, holding out a single hand. The massive wave of Hellfire collided with his palm, and with a dismissive gesture, he redirected the attack back at Seraphina. She braced herself, enduring the returned inferno, only for Malakar to be struck from the side by another blast of Infernal Devastation. Staggered, he looked around, realizing he was surrounded.
A thousand Seraphinas now encircled him, each one brimming with the same fiery energy as the original. “Phantom Duality,” Seraphina declared. The doppelgängers acted independently, each launching their own version of Infernal Devastation at Malakar in unrelenting waves.
Malakar sneered as he evaded and countered each attack, his voice booming. “I thought you said something earlier about a one-on-one. What happened to that? Now it’s a thousand-on-one. All the same, though—this still proves no problem to me.” His aura surged as he unleashed Entropy Surge.
The battlefield warped as the force of entropy accelerated decay and unraveled existence itself. The doppelgängers disintegrated one by one, their forms dissolving into chaos. Within moments, the thousand Seraphinas were no more.
Malakar landed gracefully, his Eclipsing Blade glowing ominously. In a burst of speed, he closed the distance between himself and Seraphina, slashing with precision. Seraphina fell to the ground, blood spilling from a deep gash on her side. Malakar laughed menacingly, his voice filled with triumph.
But then he noticed something was wrong. He looked down at his chest to see a gaping wound, blood pouring from the same spot where he had slashed Seraphina. Confused, he glanced back at Seraphina’s fallen body—only to see that it was his own.
Seraphina’s voice echoed from behind him. “Illusions are interesting, aren’t they? One moment you believe something to be true, but it’s a lie. The beauty of my illusion is that it’s not just a trick of the mind—it manifests as reality itself. The pain you feel now, Malakar, is very real. Tend to it or you’ll die here and now. But don’t worry…” She raised her hand, flames gathering into a deadly beam. “Your death was already sealed. I’ll give you the grace of a peaceful one.”
She prepared to unleash Infernal Devastation Beam when a shadow streaked across the battlefield. Out of nowhere, Nyxara Tenebris appeared, leaping in front of Malakar and taking the full brunt of the beam. The impact was devastating, Nyxara’s body engulfed in flames as she collapsed to the ground.
In her final moments, Nyxara turned her head weakly toward Malakar. Her voice, barely audible, carried a solemn weight. “Make it peaceful…”
