Zhi Xun shivered in the cold air-conditioning of the room. Reaching out with her hand, she only felt an empty space. That was right. The night before wasn't one of the scheduled days he was supposed to sleep over at her place.
The feeling of emptiness radiated inside her. She was lonely. She had been alone for three and a half years. She considered her no strings attached relationship with Tian Yu. It had been a few weeks since they had returned to N City, and they had agreed on a schedule for him to come over and on other days, she would go over to him. And then what? After her physical needs were met, what else could she hope for from him?
She could not deny that he had done everything in his best ability to satisfy all her needs, be it her sensual needs or even the cleaning up at her place. He would cook for her everytime he was there. Furthermore, he had been so caring to her that she felt the relationship between them had been not just physical. They shared an emotional bond.
She took her time to shower, and dress. She expected to be walking in into an empty office as she had no schedule for the day. It was going to be a quiet boring weekday. She couldn't wait for Friday to come. She looked at the table. It was empty. No breakfast. A Post-it was on the fridge from Tian Yu two days ago. He had left her a few days of prepacked meals in the fridge, which would last up to 5 days refrigerated. All she had to do was pop one in the microwave to heat it.
As she munched on her breakfast, she contemplated every single action he had done and how he had been around since they had met in the castle. Would he mean what he had said and be here to stay?
When she strode into her office, a Shoutit message from her assistant Shel arrived telling her that her air conditioner had broken down and a technician was on the way. Shel was on sick leave for the day. She replied Shel with a smiley and noted sticker, and then went to grab some coffee. Fortunately she had a portable battery powered handheld fan in the drawer. She took it out and fanned herself with it, then realised there was a sticker on the back of the fan. She had not realised it earlier. It was a mini version of one of their couple photographs in the past.
As she was lost in her thoughts, she heard a knock on the door. She had drawn her blinds and couldn't see the person. She assumed it was one of the staff, and called out for the person to come in. She turned to her laptop and started working on her article. "Is there anything scheduled for later?" she asked.
Tian Yu watched Zhi Xun as she tapped on the keys on her keyboard furiously while writing her article. She looked even more seductive in her executive wear and particularly when she was deeply absorbed in her work. "Miss, I'll need you to move a bit while I have your air-conditioner fixed," he said. She looked up momentarily to see Tian Yu in a cap and his technician uniform. She thought he looked absolutely sexy, as if he was cosplaying a technician.
"It's you?" she asked.
"Little Gao of DreamTech, at your service," he said in his usual voice that she had found to be so sexy. Zhi Xun picked up her laptop and moved to the sofa on the side where she continued to work. Tian Yu observed what a workaholic she had turned out to be.
He put down his toolbox and headed to the door and opened it, before bringing in a tall ladder. Zhi Xun had always thought he was tall, and yet he needed a ladder. She found it ironic. The ladder had belonged to Su Vogue, and was a really old one. She hoped he would be fine considering how old it was. Setting down the laptop on her lap, she sat on the side of the sofa next to him to talk to him.
He finished the repairs and started climbing down the ladder. Just as he was stepping down on one of the lower rungs of the ladder, it started to wobble due to his weight. "Xiao Xun, watch out!" he shouted as he was sent sprawling from the ladder, which fell over and hit her table. She didn't move away in time, and he crashed directly on her, causing her to drop her laptop as they rolled off the sofa and ended up in a messy heap on the carpeted floor.
"Are you okay, Xiao Xun?" he was first to ask.271Please respect copyright.PENANAgTTy48py5K
"Obviously it hurts," she said with a painful look. He assumed it had hurt too much to get up, and let her continue to lie on top of him. After fifteen minutes or so of lying motionless on the ground, it came to her that the sight of him in a technician's outfit had been so appealing to her. She lifted up her wrist and looked at the time. Ten minutes later, all the executives would be leaving for lunch.
The noise outside dispersed as soon as the clock hit twelve noon. Their eyes met, and he immediately recognised the look in her eyes. It was the sensual look of a sexual predator. "Are you.. thinking..of?" he stammered nervously. "Right here?"
"Why not? You promised to give it to me at any time," she said with a mischievous look.
"But in your office.. isn't there surveillance cameras..?" he asked, looking around for one of those devices in his defense, only to find none.
"I don't have CCTVs in my office," she said. "It's part of my agreement with my boss."
He struggled to get up, but she clambered on top of him. "You're not getting away," she said as she flashed him one of her most sensual looks. As much as he was tempting to her in his uniform, she was as bewitching in her short, skin-hugging dress. She was egging him on slowly. He felt his own temperature rising when she rubbed herself against him. She took his hand and used it to hike her dress up to her waist as he did in the past. He looked down in surprise, and felt himself harden to see that she was wearing a thong instead of her usual comfortable underwear.
"That was supposed to be your dinner," she said promptly. "Now it's your lunch." She had meant to invite him over on the pretext of having dinner together.
"Do you really want it here?" he whispered, still nervous. His heart was beating so quickly. "Won't someone see? I don't know, Xiao Xun. It doesn't feel right."
"You know, if you don't do as I say, I'll say you did a bad job and spoiled my air-conditioner," she said, extremely annoyed at his hesitance. She was used to getting what she wanted when she called for it. "Don't challenge me." She tried to give him her best meanie look.
"You know, the mean girl look doesn't suit you," he said, and planted a kiss on her lips. "I'm all yours. All you have to do is ask. But how did you get so sensual?"
She responded with an impatient and rough kiss on his lips, before reaching to unbuckle his belt. "I'll do it," he said. She climbed out of her underwear and observed his stiffness, stroking him gently with her soft fingers.
"Wait," he said, and she replied, "I have some ready." She put her hand into the bag beside them, and drew out a square. "You were prepared," he said as she put it on for him.
Her hard efforts in working out at the gym paid up. They breathed heavily together as she rode him, thrilled by the fact that they were having it in an office. She took his hand and placed it inside the opening of her dress, allowing him to explore within while they kept watch for anyone coming. Eventually, she felt him climax and release, as she moaned hard.
"It's soundproof in here," she whispered as she got up and drew some wet tissues for them to wipe off with, from a drawer. "Still, the door isn't locked," he said.
"Normally nobody comes into my office," she said. "Everyone converses using Shoutit here, and if they need me, they knock. But I don't normally have anyone come near my office due to privacy reasons. My assistant is on leave today as well."
"Ah," he said. "The ladder crash was quite loud. Are you sure nobody heard it?"
She shook her head. "Even if they did, they wouldn't want to incur my wrath. Nobody comes near my office."
"Then what if there's an emergency, like you fainted or something?"
"That's why I have an assistant," she said. "Unless you'll like it to be you?"
He laughed. "I don't know anything about fashion or journalism. I'll need to check the air-conditioner, then I'll need to go and take care of some jobs."
"Well, that was quite a 'bad' fall you had earlier. If not wrong, that's our ladder. It's our responsibility. I have to take you to the doctor."
"You were the one who broke my fall," he said. "Maybe I should take you to the doctor instead, since I hit you when I fell."
"Why don't you hide in here till I finish work?" she asked. "It's only three hours, and nobody would find out anyway. I'll take care of your boss." She grabbed her smartphone. Tian Yu saw the unlock screen of her smartphone, and turned to look at her.
"You still have that photo?" She quickly said in defense, "I just kept it because I look good on it."
"Oh," he replied. She dialed his boss' number, and explained that he had a fall due to the company's ladder, and she apologised that he would not be able to go back to work since she had to take him to a doctor. The boss replied with a 'thanks' and 'ok' before hanging up courteously.
"He said okay," she said. "I'll have my doctor write you up a sick certificate. In the meantime, you can sit yourself in the corner of my room, while I finish my article."
"Alright, then." He threw the remains of their 'game' into her step waste paper bin, and pulled on his trousers. "I'll just do as you want while you work."
He turned on the air conditioner and checked that it was functioning well, before moving to the sofa and sitting himself down like a good boy.
He was aware that Zhi Xun didn't like to be bothered when she worked, and so he engrossed himself in watching her silently at how focused and serene she busied herself in writing her article for two hours, before she finally hit the submit button and called it a day.
"There's still an hour," he said.
"Let's go," she said. "Like this?" he asked, pointing to his uniform.
"I don't care," she replied. "Let them think all they want, it's not my problem."
"Are you sure there won't be rumours?" he teased, putting his face near her face and planted a kiss near her ear. She shivered, but maintained a serious look on her face. "Let them think what they want. At least they know I'm not available now."
He picked up his tools. "As you wish."
Everyone quickly pretended to be busy with their jobs as she dragged him out the door, toolbox and all. It was sure to result in a few broken hearts, she thought.
"Min, get someone to take out the broken ladder from my room. I'll take him to the clinic," she ordered. "Aye, sure," the lady smiled, without a further question. Min was one of her most trusted colleagues, and since she was from HR, nobody would dare say a word while she was watching them with her eagle eyes.
"Where are we going?" he asked in a surprised manner, knowing that she was heading towards the route that was not her home.
"You'll see in a short while," she said, and came to a rapid halt outside a tailor. She was bringing him to have a fitting, he realised. What was she up to?
"I have a big event coming up, and need you to be my partner for it," she explained.
"I'll be glad to," he said readily. "But I can pay for myself."
"Consider it my gift to you," she stated in her determined tone.
He entered the fitting room and took off his uniform, putting on the tuxedo. She lifted the curtain and poked her head inside to watch him from the mirror, and he pulled her inside the room gently.
"Don't you enjoy the thrill?" he teased her, before running his fingers along her sides and kissing the nape of her neck. She shivered. "Not here, it's too public."
He released her and smoothened his suit. "I find it hard to let you go, Xiao Xun. Not after how you've really stolen my heart. And I know you feel the same." She hated to admit he was right, even though she didn't want to say it to him. "Everything is great as it as right now," she said. He looked a bit disappointed.
"I will prove what I can do for you with time," he said, and strode out of the fitting room.
They had dinner at KFC, and she saw how a pack of young girls could not keep their eyes off his tuxedoed figure. "Let's just go home," she said, once he had finished his meal.
"Are you mad?"
"I'm just tired," she lied. She hated how the girls were looking at him like she didn't exist. She just wanted to unwrap her package and feast on him hungrily. She desired to keep him within her control, and out of the hands of the pesky young females.
Their favourite song played on TV, and she burst into tears. He held her and told her gently, "I'm here. I'll always be here for you, Xiao Xun." She sobbed uncontrollably, as she knew that the question of what they were would still continue to exist. He wiped her tears carefully away with his fingers. His kisses had been soothing, and she just wanted him to stay by her side.
She hadn't expected it all to come to this, or that she would be slowly developing feelings for him all over again after he left. Why did love had to be so complicated, she asked herself.
"You're all that mean to me, Xiao Xun," he said. Laying her down on the sofa, he whispered, "I promised I would prove to you how much I love you and want you. You don't need to think about giving me an answer. Just relax and enjoy what will come. If I could, I would give you all the stars and the sky". She closed her eyes as he nuzzled his face against hers and showered her with kisses. She understood that he was juggling different jobs, in particular taking odd-jobs which were an insult to his intelligence and having to deal with unreasonable customers' rage, and working hard for her sake, but could she accept him? Could they love each other like before?
