The doctor had told him that his ankle should recover in about two to three weeks. The injury had been mild, and people recovered at different rates. For the one week he had been living at the apartment, he was pleased that Zhi Xun had been working remotely to take care of him at home. As she wasn't much of a cook, she had ordered takeout for their everyday meals, and he had probably put on a few kilogrammes.
(One week ago)
He still needed to bring in some income for his wedding plans despite his injury, and so he needed his laptop. Zhi Xun had scrutinised his face for a few minutes before hesitantly taking out a bag containing a laptop. "Here you go."
When he opened the bag, he was startled to realise it had been the laptop he had gifted her shortly after rescuing her from the fire. The moment she left the room, he preoccupied himself with browsing the folders in the laptop. The digital photos they had taken of their couple photographs and selfies were still intact. There had been a few Word files containing the raw text that she had used to paste her journal entries which synced across her devices.
"100 days.. Where are you? What have I done wrong?"
"I went to the condo.. but security said you went on a vacation.. why did you leave me alone? When are you coming back?"
"I called Ayin.. She couldn't answer me.. what happened to us?"
"My bag was stolen..I was almost taken advantage of by strangers.. I wished it was you who saved me and not that man.."
He rubbed his eyes and tried to focus on their current relationship. He had hurt her so much, and he would never allow her to be sad again. If his ankle had not been sprained, he would have ran to her and embraced her with all the strength he had.
...........................................................................
"Good morning," he said, peering into the beautiful eyes of his sleeping partner, who had just woken up to the melodious chirping of the birds outside their window. Her chest was pressed against his in an embrace. "Good morning, you," she responded with a yawn. It was adorable, and he would miss her once she returned to work.
"When are you going back to work?"
She gave him a little sneer. "Su Vogue won't die with the little personal leave I am taking. After all, I get to clear my annual leave."
"Aha," he laughed. "Don't forget that you spent two weeks in Bangkok with me. How many vacation days do you have, by the way?"
"Maybe thirty?" she replied. "Or forty. I don't remember, after all the lazy days I have taken this year."
He smiled. "Why are you up so early, then?"
"Ayin will come over to see me," she said. "Originally, we had planned on hanging out at a café, but since your ankle is injured, I can't just leave you at home, can I?"
"Okay," he said. "Let me know if there's anything she needs."
"I'm sure she's doing well. She's interning for Su Amore now. In a few months, she will graduate in fashion design."
"Oh. Is that why you are meeting her, to talk about her future plans?"
"We usually do a casual hangout from time to time. She hasn't much friends, just that boy."
"The boy? Fang Qi?"
"Yes, they're steady now. They've already been together for the last few years."
"I'm glad for her," he replied. He watched her pull herself up from the bed, then his eyes followed her delicious nude figure as she moved to the bathroom to take a brisk shower and then dress in her home clothes. All this she confidently did it in front of him. He felt his member stiffen. It was always her, who had this power over him.
She walked towards him and climbed back into his arms, the fragrance of her body from her shower filling the air. He could see the outline of her breasts under the loose cotton tee she was wearing. As he expected, she hadn't bothered to wear a bra. Without thinking, he lifted up the bottom of her tee and began drawing circles over her chest. She squirmed. "What are you doing?" she looked a little furious, but succumbed to the passion of his touches. "Having my self-service breakfast because you didn't feed me," he said with a laugh. Greedily he feasted on her buns, stimulating her with his tongue. She didn't stop him as he took her on his lap and pulled her shorts down to her ankles. "Ayin will be here any moment.." she stammered as he gently played with her opening. Without warning, he penetrated her cavity with his fingers and wetted her thoroughly. "I want it," she finally said, and let out a loud moan as he entered her and rammed her continuously. Her moans were loud and sensual, invigorating him with the sexiness of her voice He felt her climax, and then a shrill sound broke out. It was the buzz of the doorbell!
It rang a few more times, before he pulled out and released into a handy cotton towel nearby the bed. She heard Ayin call her name, and quickly pulled on her shorts, before rushing to the door and opening it immediately.
Tian Yin looked a little impatient waiting in the heat for her to open the door. She took her place to sit on the sofa, dressed in a tube and summer shorts. "So, how was breakfast?" she asked straightforwardly.
"Breakfast? I haven't had breakfast," Zhi Xun faked a smile.
"I heard everything," she said. "You have a man, don't you?"
"Er... Yeah." Zhi Xun didn't deny Tian Yin's statement. In fact, the apartment wasn't soundproof, and she hadn't bothered to close the door of her bedroom since she had been only resident in her five-room apartment. Her moaning earlier had been so loud, that she felt embarrassed in front of Tian Yin.
"How long has it been?" Tian Yin asked. "Not that I want to judge, after all it's the twenty-first century. I can't really say anything about it. I'm just curious.. Since it's been 3 years and you never did mention about having anyone."
"We aren't in an actual relationship," she said.
"Is he a special friend?" Tian Yin asked curiously.
"You can say that," Zhi Xun said. "You really won't judge?"
"How can I ever?" she laughed. "Actually, me and Fang Qi... We started this way.." She blushed.
"You're a great friend, Ayin." She didn't want to tell Tian Yin ahead of time as to who the man was just yet, till their relationship was confirmed. Time would tell.
"So tell me, has the relationship been exciting so far?" Tian Yin asked. "Does he treat you well?"
"He's a great guy. Do you mind if I take him along next week?" Zhi Xun asked.
"Definitely not." Tian Yin smiled and they shared a hug. "I'm so glad for you."
They enjoyed chit-chatting for about a few hours, before Tian Yin had to leave for work.
By the next week, Tian Yu's ankle had healed well and no longer needed crutches for his mobility.Zhi Xun stood by her decision to take him to the engagement party as her partner. She made up her mind to tell Tian Yu, as he deserved to know.
As he stood in his masculine elegance before the standing mirror straightening his tuxedo, she told him the truth about the engagement party that they were going to attend, and she saw him clench his fists for a few minutes, before calming himself.
"I'll keep my composure, for your sake. Do you think, that he is a good man for Ayin?"
"Definitely he is. She told me a lot about him. After all, they have been close friends for such a long time. She doesn't have many friends, so he is so important to her."
"I guess I'll take your words for it," he said, taking her hand in his.
"Are you ready?" she asked. He nodded. He was glad that she had let him know what was their agenda before bringing him to the event directly.
The ballroom was grand, and most of the guests were renowned individuals from the elite community and friends and associates of Fang Qi's diplomatic parents. Who would ever think that the once-playboy was from such an aristocratic family, and that he'd love her so deeply? Zhi Xun smiled happily as she walked, arm in arm with Tian Yu. He was her date for the day, as she teased. He retorted that she would not have any other dates as long as he was around, and she giggled.
When they strode into the ballroom, all eyes were on them due to Zhi Xun's celebrity-like status. Since the incident in Su Vogue where she had been seen leaving with a man in a technician's uniform, tongues had been left wagging, hearts had been broken but above all, souls had been left curious to whom the man in her heart was, since no man was able to acquire her attention or feelings for the last few years that she was declared single. Her boss had been ruled out some time back, although at one point he was rumoured to be involved with her, but the rumours were later uncovered to be false as the photographs of them together appeared to be photoshopped.
"He looks compatible with her. I wonder who he is?" a man said to his friend.
"If I were her, I would want him for myself, too," a girl said.
"I suppose Adobe will be broken hearted now his idol is already taken."
Tian Yu glanced at Zhi Xun, hearing the gossip about them. He felt uncomfortable basically because of the fact they weren't official and he was a nobody compared to her. But since he was there to accompany her and keep her happy, he couldn't beg for a better chance to be with her. So he swallowed down his pride and bore with the gossipmongers' comments. Why was she so popular and desirable in the eyes of others? He couldn't help but feel jealous that many men had idolised and liked her while she was in the limelight.
On the other hand, Zhi Xun was jealous of the public attention that Tian Yu was getting in the crowd. When she was getting some drinks and a female associated tried to make contact with Tian Yu, she sarcastically responded to the woman's advances, "Sorry but this man is mine. You can have another one from the crowd."
She pulled him away and into a corner away from public eyes, and he said, "That was a little mean. She was just socialising."
She pushed him against the wall and hissed at him, "Nobody touches my man. She's lucky she got away with just a sarcastic remark."
He was stronger, and he twirled her around easily and in a flash, he was the one pressing her against the wall, "What about all those men idolising you? I'm sure they have something to say about your desirability." He seemed a little angry, and she would answer for that.
She leaned her face closer to him and crashed her lips against his, without a care for the thought that someone might be watching them. It would be even better if someone was watching, she thought. The women should keep their filthy hands off what is mine.
He broke the kiss gently and told her, "I thought you don't like public attention."
"This is called public display of affection," she said.
"Aren't we discreet lovers?" he teased her. "You said so yourself." She fell speechless. Had jealousy just drove her to do something that was against her own words?
She was suddenly distracted by the voices of a man and woman squabbling, and they stopped to realise that someone was quarreling not far from them, as there was a fire escape door a few metres away. The voices had to be coming from that door.
Instantly, they both recognised the voices. "Su Mo and Ayin?" she gasped.
