Anxiety leaked out of my pores, Kain would be back soon, tonight, I only had to wait a for a few more hours. Joy hadn't come to see me for a few days, she needed time to rest, to sleep. It pained me to know she was so heart broken, however it would make it easier for her to leave if she didn't mate to him. A part of me, deep down was happy that I wouldn't have to share her affections.
My mind dizzied with worries Kain was the answer to my prayers if he didn't show up or if his pack didn't wish to help me I'd be screwed, I had no back up plan other than to just run for it and pray for the best! A knock rapped against my chambers door, my heart flipped I was not yet expecting anybody. "H-Hello?" I whispered waiting for an answer before I opened the door.
"It's me Princess." Adam? Adam had never come to my door before! "Quickly get in." I pulled him into my room, double checking that no one saw him before shutting the door. "What are you doing? What's going on?" Adam awkwardly looked up at me attempting to find a spot to sit on. He ended up on my desk chair. "Did you hear about Beta Nigel?"
"No..Is he ok?" Adam's lips creased his eyes refusing to make contact. "He was stripped of his title..Tom is the Beta now, The Queen allowed his son to carry on his his foot steps, which is pretty kind after what he did.. The prince wanted him killed. He got off light in my opinion, he tried to harm you, YOU! You are set to become Queen, he must have been on something to attempt what he did."
I bit down on my full lip worry bubbling within my stomach. "I think he was dealing with a lot, maybe he blamed me for what happened with his son. Now I'm just worried that he may want revenge. He lost his rank because of me." Adam reached his arm across to my shoulder. "Don't worry about that, I doubt he would dare after the princes reaction."
A part of me was proud, Nigel was one of the wolves that destroyed my birth pack and killed my parents. In a sense this was my own revenge. "Adam, you shouldn't be here. If Jackson finds out." "And he doesn't know that I'm gay..So he would assume the worst.. I'll leave asap, just let me check if it's clear. I thought you should hear this from a friend first, I probably should have waited but what the heck! Can't a guy hang out with his friend? Even if she is royalty?" I wish it was that easy.
Adam's light brown eyes crinkled as he peaked into the hall way. His hand pushed through his slightly long blonde hair, he was pretty but not my type, we had gotten close due to our shared opinions and the fact that he was gay and I was something...He was a good friend but a bit of a gossip, you could always rely on him to keep your secrets and be a shoulder to cry on.
Suddenly he winced and slammed the door shut keeping his back pressed up against the heavy oak door, his long lashes fluttered a few times before his eyes widened in terror. "He's coming! Fuck!!" I knew immediately whom he was talking about. "Shit! Did he see you? Get into my bathroom, hide behind the door or something!! Just hide now!!" He propelled himself into my on suite anxiety leaking into the room.
My door suddenly slammed open, I placed myself on the bed pretending to be reading. His hulking body stomped over to my bed. "Where is he." He asked, voice calm but hiding a storm of rage. "I..I don't know what you are talking about." My face had gone completely red, a stammer on my tongue and a look of guilt within my bright blue eyes. "Don't fucking lie to me Rey..I'll kill him if you don't tell me in 10 seconds."
I jumped up pushing against him to distract him. "Jackson are you on something? Look you don't seem very well come lie down with me. I'll take care of you?" I was repulsed by myself and my wolf seemed to be too because she was desperately attempting to front. Fuck! Should I just give up Adam to save myself from being found out? His golden eyes devoured me, however he remained a raging storm.
"How dare you disrespect me!" I swallowed hard, my heart hammering in my chest. "Please Jackson! Just listen to m-" "I know he's in here!! How dare you try to trick me with this act! I know you'd never truly do this for me if you thought I was sick, do you think I'm a fucking idiot?? Do you?" I kinda did.
"That's it I'm killing him! How could you allow another male in to your private space! Did you forget that you are mine?" I scoffed my wolf begging for release. "Did you fuck him?" His eyes flooded with darkness going completely black, his wolf was fronting. He pressed me into the bed sniffing my clothing. "No..Good, you are mine Reyna don't forget that." I clenched my teeth as he pressed his lips into my neck.
"Touch me again Jackson..I dare you." He stopped, considering my threat. I truly believed that he wouldn't until he had chucked me onto my bed and crawled on top of me. "I'll end you!" I barked, my wolf so close to the front. "Don't threaten me bitch, you should know better by now." I kicked him as hard as I could in the groin, he doubled over placing all of his weight onto me. I wanted to cry out in pain but I wouldn't give him it. He quickly recuperated from my attack.
His hot lips covered my neck, the sensation of him becoming stiff against me was sickening I'd tear it off if he did anything with it. "Ja-Jackson stop! STOP! STOP!! PLEASE STOP!" He wasn't listening to me as his hands explored my body, lifting my shirt off and kissing the area around my chest, he thumbled for the clasp at the back of my black bra. "PLEASE!" I cried out, every inch of my bravery dying away as the threat of assault began to become far too real. "Jackson NO! Stop I said STOP! Listen to me! Listen if you do this I will NEVER forgive you! I will hurt myself I will make it so you never get to touch this body again."
"I need to get it through to you that you and this body belongs to me. Nothing I have done so far has made that clear, maybe this has to happen for you to learn. Maybe your wolf will finally come to greet you. You'll get over it and we can finally get over this rebellious faze of yours, It's for the best my Queen, just enjoy it, I know you'll enjoy it." Tears pooled in my fearful glare. He was going to do it, this was no longer a joke, a flirtation, this was hell.
The belt around his jeans unbuckled allowing freedom, he pushed into me attempting to undress himself. "HELP!" I wailed, praying that Adam would come to my rescue, I know he'd be scared, he could lose his life but he was the only one that could stop this now. "PLEASE! HELP!" Jackson pressed his hand over my mouth, muting my yelling. "Relax babe." My eyes closed shut as he began to undress my lower half.
'Clang' Suddenly everything stopped. "Are you ok?" A sobbing voice called. "Oh my god Reyna! I can't believe this! I can't believe....You need to tell someone..You need to tell the Queen. He tried to take you by force that is a fucking crime! You need to tell the Queen!" I opened my eyes to the sight of Adam holding a metal mirror, glass imbedded into the back of Jacksons head. I shoved him off tears pouring down my pale cheeks.
"I need to get out of here, I can't be in this castle anymore..I n- I need to runaway." Panic ran through my veins like electric coursing through my body, my heart stammered, hiccups choked me, I was in flight mode. "Fuck Adam! He'll kill you! You need to go!" Snot and tears ran down Adams face he was absolutely shitting himself. "I couldn't let him..You're my friend Reyna..I used to look up to this prick, has he done this before?"
I shook my head standing close to Adam, hugging into his side. "If we go now I can get you out of this castle, Go to the Blackwolf pack tell them I sent you and that I'll let Kain know about it, they will protect you. I'm..So sorry." He shook his head pulling me in for a tight hug. "Don't you dare say sorry, none of this was your fault. None of it! I'll go but you have to promise me you'll join me soon. I can't stand the idea of you being stuck with him. I pray the goddess will smite him down!"
I left Jackson in my room, trying my best to pretend everything was alright as I guided Adam out into the training grounds, he could climb the fence behind the gym, it was broken and not as tall as the rest. "Go, please be safe!" Adam hugged me one more time before he jumped over the metal fence and ran out into the darkness, his wolf howling with sorrow, he was leaving everything behind, his family his job his life..All because of me, I felt guilty, angry, sickened but I mostly felt rage and determination to escape this cursed place.
