I stand outside the door of the maids' quarters and listen to Cassia, Clove, Nightshade, and Cardamon talk. In my hands, I'm holding two bouquets, one for Nightshade, and one for Cardamon. I knock on the door, and Cassia opens it, looking at me in surprise. 303Please respect copyright.PENANAWqgN1rBfDg
"Hey Your Highness," She grins. "What's up?" I smile at her in return.303Please respect copyright.PENANAU7WVoFWg3u
"I need to talk to Nightshade and Cardamon," I reply. "It's important." She nods, calling Cardamon and Nightshade over to the door. They both look at me curiously.
"Bergamot? What's the matter?" Nightshade asks as I grab both of their hands, pulling them into an empty room. Cardamon gives me a questioning look.
"I've bought you two here, to tell you something," I reply, pulling the two bouquets from behind my back, and handing them to both girls. "I wanted to tell you... that I love you both." Nightshade gives me a look of surprise and Cardamon smiles softly at me. Cardamon grabs me suddenly and kisses me. We break the kiss, and she grins, stepping aside to allow Nightshade to kiss me as well. 303Please respect copyright.PENANAxU2ofPxc35
"Your Majesty!" Hearing Chicory's voice, I turn away from Nightshade. He has a look of worry on his face.
"What's wrong Chicory?" I ask, and he hands me a scroll. I tear the wax seal easily with my claws, not bothering with a letter-opener. I scan the scroll and frown, crushing it in my fist.
"So," I mutter, storming out of the room. Nightshade, Chicory, and Cardamon follow me. "The council has become a sect of traitors. And on top of this," My mind wanders to a dark, dark place. Cardamon looks at me fearfully, grabbing my hand.
"Bergamot please," She pleads. "Don't do what I know you're thinking of doing. Don't kill them, please, don't go down that path! " I pull my hand away from hers.
"You can't deter me Cardamon," I hiss, tearing the letter to pieces. "I've made up my mind. I will kill them all! "
