I sit up, blinking in the darkness of the room. I hop out of bed and walk towards the window, opening it, and climbing out. I leave the town behind, heading out for the Duke's castle, and Calamint. I bump into a lady, and she glares at me.
"Watch it!" She shouts, and I round on her, silencing her with a glare. She frowns, and I continue walking past. As I walk, I hear her mutter.
"Hyssop hasn't written me back. I should go check on him." She climbs onto her horse and takes off in the direction of Hyssop's cottage.

"Hello, Calamint." She whirls around to face me, dagger in hand.
"You!" Calamint scowls. "Hyssop warned about you, Your Highness, in a letter." Her voice trembles as I walk towards her, but she glares at me defiantly. "You've come to kill me, I assume?" I nod, and Calamint bolts, running past me, but I brain her with the fire-poker. She collapses, and I raise the poker, slamming it onto her head, her skull cracking on impact. I slam the poker onto her head again, and again. until her head is nothing more than a gory smear on the ground.
