As I approach the next town, my stolen horse dies. I hop off of the horse and survey my surroundings. It's dark, and the town is quiet. Crouching down beside the fallen horse, I rummage through the saddlebags. I find a cloak, a few scrolls, and a dagger. I remove my cloak, examining it. It's tattered, cloak's edges stiff and dark red with old blood. I take the other cloak and put it on. It's here, where I come across a problem.346Please respect copyright.PENANAWeXkaecZAB
"What...?" I pull the cloak over my head, the cowl of the cloak stopping halfway. I go back to the saddlebags, and after rummaging through them again, find a small mirror. I pull out the mirror and scowl at my reflection. I have horns. The horns are long, and curve backward, preventing the cloak from covering my face.
"I'll be easily noticed," I think, lowering the cloak's cowl. "If I'm spotted..." I shake my head, not finishing the thought. I'll just travel by night, and if I'm spotted, I'll kill whoever sees me. I unroll one of the scrolls, scanning the letter, looking for the person Calamint was sending this to. 346Please respect copyright.PENANApN2WY5zuQv
"Addressed to, Lungwort...and Nettle..." I frown. I've never seen Lungwort or Nettle, but, I've heard their names before, mentioned by the council members. I head into town, a plan forming in my mind. 346Please respect copyright.PENANAkEUQuX4OuV
