Do you know why games are made?
A general explanation would do. "It is for fun," that is why games are created. It is for entertainment.
There are a lot of games out there. It comes in different genres; one that will satisfy one's taste of enjoyment. It can be interactive, role-playing, life simulation, or something endless that can kill this limited time of ours.
Our own perception defines our choices when picking a game to play. Some relies more on its purpose. Is this game educational? informative? or perhaps something that will keep us accompanied for a long time.
But what if, only theoretically speaking, games are made because we want to disconnect from this own world of us?
Maybe it really comes with diverse emotions rather than genres. It tells us to pick something that will make us feel what we want. Or maybe we just want to have a different character aside from what we are currently.
Apart from that, do you consider liking the game's system?
The save-and-load function is really interesting, isn't? We can save the data, then if we do something wrong, we will just hit the reload button. After that, those mistakes are nothing. We don't need to worry because it seems like it never really exist. We'll just continue to play.
So what if that applies to the real world, can we just reload our save data? Rendering previous choices, resetting if we face difficult problems, escaping death, remaking what could have been; would it change our lives? Will we be able to change?
Obviously not. Otherwise,
"It won't be fun."
Right?
