"We should hurry back to the hotel. Magpie needs help," Nu encouraged Jayden and Senshi, who were trailing behind.
"And then Jayden has some explaining to do," Vandal butted in, and Nu couldn't argue. Jayden seemed to have some deep connection to this place, and the time had long past for him to tell them what he knew about their predicament.
Nu brushed her bangs aside and fast walked, encouraging the others to hurry it along. She felt so stupid for giving the Jayden clone her water, even though Vandal had advised against it. If only she had not been so stupid, she could heal the newcomer and they wouldn't have to rush back to the hotel. She hated that she had gotten tricked so easily.
Thankfully, the group arrived back at the hotel without further incident and Nu practically ran straight to their room. She grabbed a bowl from the kitchen and filled it up with water from the sink as Vandal lay the wounded woman down carefully on the couch.
"Now," he said turning to Jayden, "I suggest you start talking."
Nu touched the woman's wounded with a watery hand, but she found it difficult to listen to what was happening and hold her concentration over her affinity. She decided to focus on the latter, letting her Mama's power take over and help the injured girl.
While she agreed that Jayden needed to tell them what he knew, she could understand why he didn't and she hoped Van and Senshi understood that too. Jayden couldn't couldn't be fully blamed for what had happened to them. Whatever he knows about this place doesn't seem to include a way back into our respective worlds, so there wasn't any point to mentioning it. In fact, Nu was willing to bet that everyone here was hiding some small but important piece of information from the others.
But, at the same time, whatever Jayden knows could clearly help them survive in this wretched place, and he should have told them about the danger sooner.
The discussion behind her grew louder, and it was getting difficult to concentrate on her healing. Nu hoped she wouldn't have to stop to break up a fight between them. They should be fighting Umbras and that horrible Jayden look-alike, not each other!
Thankfully, Magpie's wound was rejuvenating well, the skin stitching itself back up as the life-giving water gave it renewed vitality. She'd be healed in a minute, and then Nu could finally focus on the conversation at hand.
