Magpie stared speechless at the holed ceiling. She was angry and had an urge to cry out in rage, yet at the same time, she felt sad for Senshi. An inner conflict whirled within her chest with the pain while not sure how to react. Magpie knows she must head-on since Vandal is on the move and the others are in danger. She wanted to sort Senshi to the other villains, but she has a spark of hope that Senshi might change. She shook her head and slid from the wall down to the floor. Aside from the emotions, she needs to regain her strength quickly. After a long moment of thinking and taking a deep breath, Magpie stood up and headed on.
Shadow sniggered to his delight as he saw the whole incident through the water in the toilet with an observing spell. "So, the fairy is turning sides and betrayed dear Magpie. That just sweetens everything. Sadly the fairy started too soon but let's see how it turns out." With a gesture of his hand and a brief whisper, the magic vanished. He muttered anew a different arcane word, the round tattoo on his right hand glowed for a moment red and his left eye. "I'll be keeping an eye on you, dearest." He smiles and walks out of the bathroom.
Along the way up, Magpie found what appears to be an abandoned kitchen with some empty nests of birds. She checked through the cupboards for food and found a strange-looking food that has flattened oats, dried berries and chocolate mixed in a rectangular shape (protein bars). They gave her a lot of new strength and was able to think clearer after what happened. She packed some reserves for later. Magpie is determined to provide Senshi with a second chance and show her a different way in life. Well, Magpie is no expert in love since she always doubted herself and is different than all the other women. She wears trousers, has short hair to the ears, knows how to fight and steal, utterly different than all the women in Bhernia. She has developed feelings for Ignatius but never thought he would have the same impression for her. Still not entirely sure if that is true since Shadow said it. No matter, Ignatius will always be a dear friend!
Suddenly a violet flame of fire covered her left fist, emitting warmth like any flame. The moment she noticed her hand, the fire disappeared. Fire? Magpie tried to focus as she did before and slowly, the fire reappeared. She felt not only a flame burning in her hand but a flame from within her. This will come in handy; I must help Vandal and the others. She stood up and headed on upwards. As she paced up a long staircase, a strange feeling of being watch sent a chill down her spine and kept looking over her shoulder, but there was nothing. The higher she went, the more intense the feeling grew, up to the point as if someone is always hiding at the corner of her eye, and when she turned to see, nothing was there. Magpie reached the top quite exhausted from the tall flight of stairs and found herself staring at the door handle. I must go on; they need my help, and so does Senshi. She clenched her teeth and opened the door.
Suddenly a hand gripped at her collar, and a familiar voice spoke the arcane language. Heavy doziness fogged her mind and made her eyelids heavy. Magpie saw for a moment Shadow grinning at her before she blacked out.
"That's right, my dear. Get some rest after what you went through." He sniggered softly with delight as he held sleeping Magpie in his arms. He carried her to a room that appears to have been a bedroom and places her gently on the bed. "I'll be back for you soon." He strokes gently a few hairs away from her closed eyes. Shadow mutters a spell and slowly morphs himself into Magpie. At the same time floats above Magpie the red round symbol like Shadow's tattoo, to hide and protect Magpie with invisibility. Carefully Shadow removes Magpie's sword and poach and straps them to him. "Now, no one can tell the difference." He smiled, and his voice changed to Magpie's tone.
Suddenly Shadow heard noises of a struggle from the floor beneath him. He scoffed amused. "Just in time if it's Vandal", and paced off. As Shadow stepped into the lower floor, he saw Vandal pointing his gun at Ladnavia. Shadow had to compose himself not to smile at the sight and keep his mind at the ready to cast a spell.
