The Spirit said nothing but remained oddly calm and was focused on something else than Nu. Nu gripped Spirit's arm and begged in a whisper to stop it all. As Spirit turned to Nu, their fall halted and felt firm ground under their feet.
"Aw." Cooed Shadow softly with a hint of mockery. The Aether Spirit blinked, surprised as she spotted large fingers protruding from the ground they stand on; she and Nu are standing on a large palm of a dark hand. Soon a pair of gigantic ruby red eyes glowed and soon accompanied by a familiar face with long wavy dark hair from above. Veins and markings glowed in the same hue as his eyes across his skin. "You asked nicely, but no. This is too entertaining. You may even compete with dear little Magpie." He mocked with a snigger and neared his face to them.
Nu hid behind the Spirit as Shadow neared his face to them with a mocking grin. "What is it Spirit, cat got your tongue?"
The Aether Spirit's lips slowly curved to a broad smile. "What is there to say when I'm observing your manner and what kind you are?"
Shadow sniggered and spoke softly. "All you have to do is ask, dearie."
"What are you, and where do you come from?" She asked calmly. Nu slowly loosened her grip on Spirit's arm and stood upright.
"I wasn't born in flesh and blood as I appear. I come from the emotions of betrayal and frustration of the deceased. Those that seek revenge but can't, their emotions is what makes me who am I. As long these emotions exist, so shall I, and no one nor weapon can kill me. I am called in my world a dark and evil spirit. My world and home is called Bhernia, the one and same as dear Magpie originates and that obnoxious caster Ignatius. A world filled with magic, young and ancient kingdoms and strict rules when it comes to the use of magic. There's even a rumour of an uprising that may lead to a revolution or worse war between the royal-bloods and casters, but I don't mind over such petty causes. I may take the credit if I get what I want in return, but then again, I can deny since it wasn't I who started the rumours." He paused, his eyes glowed brighter for a moment. "As you are already aware of I am capable of possessing people and use them to how I see fit. My powers and magic are so dark and great your's can barely compete here in the world of illusions, and I'm curious what potential will be unlocked with the Eye of Aion?"363Please respect copyright.PENANApD88zexZb8
"What are your intentions once you have it?" Aether Spirit gave a slight hiss with balled fists.
Shadow laughed, and his hand on where the Spirit and Nu stood trembled. "Well, I wouldn't bring all of you back home safely."
"Then I won't allow you to kill and harm my friends!" Suddenly Nu stepped up, mustering her courage and fighting against the urge of running away. "I will use all my power and the spirit's if I must to defeat you! Magpie and Ignatius will surely know what they need to do to stop you!"
Shadow cackled and dissolved himself into a large swarm of dark grasshoppers with ruby eyes and wings. They flew in all directions and partially into Nu's and Spirit's long hair. Oddly the ground they stood on was stolid as rock. Nu closed her eyes and clasped her ears as she crouched to the ground to protect herself from the chaotic swarm. Aether Spirit remained calm, and as if by magic, no grasshopper touched or crawled over her. With a gesture of her hand towards Nu, it did the same to her; no grasshoppers crawled on Nu.
"That's exactly what I'm expecting from you and the others." Sniggered Shadow and grabbed Nu's hand to help her up. He looked into her eyes while stroking a hand gently on her cheek and jawline, whipping away the tears. "I'm excited to see what you're capable off." He whispered, and his eyes glowed with malicious delight. Soon panned over to Aether Spirit. "Same can be said of you."
"I won't allow you harming Nuallis." Hissed the Spirit.
"Who said anything of harming?" Shadow gave an amused scoff as he lets go of Nu. "Come to think what happened before with Nuallis' memories; I'd say protecting isn't your strong suit?"
Aether Spirit glared at Shadow silently.
Shadow paced leisurely around her at an arm's length. "Is it because you haven't been human for a long time or not all? I doubt the latter since my emotions are human. Although a spirit, there are parts in me that is human, or I wouldn't have a soft spot for little Magpie." He pauses. "Shall we take a trip down memory lane?" He whispered into her ear from behind.
Suddenly a strong breeze of bitterly cold wind blew past, and the darkness around them slowly began to light up with billions of stars floating in the endless galaxy...
Van faced Ignatius and Magpie with a grave glance.
Magpie gave a shuddering gasp of dread of what he said and held up both hands to her mouth. Ignatius clenched his fists and teeth to contain his anger. Soon he took a deep breath. "We'll help you." He faces Magpie, their glances met. "You know him better than me, you know what Shadow's plan may be."
"But I'm no caster like you. I don't even know how to scry." Remarked Magpie softly.
"Yet you managed to embed a message in your favourite dagger before Shadow possessed you. But for now, tell us all what you know."
Magpie retreated a step back, her eyes wide in shock and her hands trembled although they were balled into fists. She wanted to speak but only shuddering hot air rolled from her lips while her mind raced with images of Shadow and what torcher he inflicted on her with his twisted gesture that he calls love. The rattling of chains rang in her ears, felt a warm moist tickle at her wrists and scented fresh blood and old sweat. She looked down and found her leather cuffs sitting at her wrists as always and dry. There were no traces of blood or drops of sweat nor clad of iron shackles with chains in sight.
"Magpie?" Asked Ignatius softly.
She gasped and faced him. Ignatius looked at her concerned, cautiously approaching her and holding out an open hand to her. He can only hazard a guess what Shadow did to Magpie, but he will do with all his might to show Magpie she is now free from Shadow, despite the tattoo on her hand. No words needed to be said as he looked deeply into her eyes with mixed emotions, admiration, shame and great concern. I wish there is another way without asking her for this, but there isn't, and time is against us.
Magpie's eyes slowly fell to his open hand, and hesitantly, with a trembling hand, she gave her's. Ignatius gave a smile, aware of her fear and strength. Before he could finish his thought and start whispering the arcane words, Ignatius felt the magical telepathic connection to Magpie. He blinked but quickly proceeded. "You can choose if you want to share with everyone or only with me, and I'll transfer your knowledge."
Magpie bit her lip while staring at the floor before. "No, I should best tell this to everyone directly, but-" Suddenly, Ignatius sees vivid pictures and scenes in his mind that weren't his memories; they were Magpie's. The jingle of chains and cracks of whips, the scent of blood, worn leather and old sweat accompanied by an unbearable pain through the entire body. Suddenly he saw a picture of Magpie with long hair looking in a large mirror with Shadow embracing from behind. Ignatius thought he heard an echo of Shadow's icy and sinister chuckle.
"Ignatius?" Magpie's voice cut him off from the horrible trance he found himself in and blinked before facing her.
"I-I tried to recall what Shadow's plans could be." He stuttered while trying to keep his anger at bay.
Ravage giggled silently in glee at the sight below her how Gideon and Moryuu fought against each other with their remarkable powers. Suddenly Moryuu was sent flying from Gideon's firm punch in the stomach. "That's got to hurt, but I have a feeling you don't give up or die easily." She grimaced for a second but soon smirked as her eyes followed Gideon reaching with a tentacle for Moryuu. Suddenly the tentacle slammed Moryuu through multiple brick walls of the building Ravage is on and a few more after that.
"Huh." She scoffed with a crazed smile, and her red-eye glowed for a moment. "If Gideon is breaking Blue, I will step in. I want my turn with him. I'll wait and see how this turns out. I hate to teach Octopus about sharing." She sprang down to get a closer look at the combat.
