Senshi looked at Cordis and frowned. “No thanks.”
Pouting a bit at the dismissal, Cordis took hold of her hand before se got the chance to leave. “Now, now, dear,: he cooed before pulling her away from the ledge. “Can you at least give me a reason why?”
“I need to find Jayden.”
“Why? He isn’t worried about you, dearest,” he replied as he walked her further from the edge. “Trust me when I say this but I’m pretty sure you’re the furthest thing from his mind at this moment.” Green eyes noted the hesitation. “Why don’t you stay with me for a few hours? I could make you forget all about my moody other half. We can do just about anything you want, my little spitfire, but, first, we can have a nice meal,” he offered before gesturing towards the blanket and basket stationed at the end of the building prior to spinning her. “Second, we can have a dance. You seem pretty light on your feet so I’m sure you’re quite the dancer and I can easily get some music going.” He then brought her hand up before pressing a kiss to the back of it. “If it starts getting too late, you’re free to come back with me and stay at my place for the evening. I’m sure you’d enjoy a hot bath and fresh clothing then we can do whatever you like but promise me something. You just have to keep it a secret between the two of us, alright? If you can do that, I’m sure I can make you quite happy, my little spitfire.”
She hesitated and bit her lip glancing back towards the direction of her friends and the base, Cordis watched her with clear fascination before he placed a finger under her chin, turning her face towards him. “Trust me, my little spitfire, not only is Jayden not worrying about you, but they aren’t either. Come with me. I can make you happy,” he said with a soft smile.
She avoided his eyes and frowned as her mind raced at 300 mph.
‘Is this what Carlos would want?’
‘He is right… why would they care? All I am is an asshole to them. I don’t even treat them like friends but I can’t just walk away with someone who is not only the villain but also practically the twin of the person I love.”
She bit the inside of her cheek and sighed glancing towards their base’s direction again as Cordis waited for a response. Her eyes narrowed and she looked at him. “Would I be allowed to leave whenever?” she questioned.
He smirked wickedly. “Of course.”
“Will you stop sending those vile creatures to attack my friends?”
He frowned. “I’m afraid that will not happen.”
She frowned up at him as something flickered in his eyes. “Why do you want me to stop? Do you still believe they care for you? Darling, if you want to know their feelings towards you, I could tell your right now they don’t have a care in the world for you. Just like your precious prince,” he whispered in her ear.
Her eyes widened at the fact that he knew about the prince and she pushed him away, whipping towards the opposite direction of him before looking at the bloody petal pile.
*Flashback*
Something in her heart stirred and se mumbled something under her breath. “What was that?” the prince had asked, curiosity piqued.
She hesitated before biting her lip and avoiding his eyes before frowning. “I…” she started hesitantly. “I… I …I love you…” she said.
The prince stopped and stared blankly before pulling away like he had just touched a roach. “Leave,” he demanded with a dangerous tone and she nodded before stepping towards the door just as her breath caught and she coughed violently.
The prince growled. “Why are you still here?” he shouted, whirling around towards her just as she collapsed and flower petals off blue lilies were spread about the floor.
*End of flashback*
Senshi choked back tears and turned towards him as held out his hand to her. She scanned it and then his face before nodding and taking his hand.
He chuckled with a wicked grin.
‘This is for the best. No one will care, right?’
Then just as the thought crossed her mind, everything went black.
