The car ride with Erik was quick and quiet, and much to my surprise, I enjoyed the silence. I couldn't wait to sink my teeth into Sebastian. He was going to get an earful.
Taking in my surroundings, I noticed that we were still in Black Lace with only about ten minutes up the street. Making a right turn onto a gravel road that was surrounded by trees, I bit my lip, regretting myself for agreeing to Erik's unknown antics that had led me here.
It looked like we were entering a portion of the forest that humans didn't venture to. The road was steep and very narrow, with just enough space for one car to move at a time in one direction. At the very top of the hill, I saw a massive white and black house.
"What the hell?" I gasped at the view that was right in front of me. We had rolled to a stop at the end of the driveway. The house was completely identical to mine, but it was much bigger.
"You need to hear Sebastian out, Veronica. Please," Erik begged.
"Why does his house look identical to mine?" I asked, shocked.
"That you will have to ask him." He pointed to the house where Sebastian stood on the porch steps, his arms folded.
His dark blue shirt hugged his body in all the right places, making me drool. His hair was slicked back, making his baby blues pop. I wanted so badly to jump into his arms and crash my lips against his.
"You're pissed at him, don't forget that," I reminded myself.
A smile wormed its way onto his face as he walked down the steps with confidence. Remembering what he did to me, it took no time at all for me to snap out of my swooning.
While giving Sebastian an earful and poking him in the chest, my fingers tingled with a profound energy and my body ached for him. But the anger grew as he spoke words he did not mean.
I opened my mouth and instantly regretted every word that slipped out, "I'm done with whatever this is. You're a coward and I don't want someone like that in my life. You -"
Sebastian walked closer to me, stopping me mid-sentence and crashed his lips onto mine. Sweetly and gently, our lips moved together as he pulled me closer and slid his hand up my neck and into my hair.
A firework sensation ran up and down my body hinting at not stopping and growing stronger as time passed. If I didn't stop this now, there would be some innocent eyes in need of a cleansing.
Finally, I pulled away to breathe, my eyes meeting his. He rested his forehead against mine and took a deep breath.
"Veronica, please let me explain what happened." He pleaded, his voice raspy from the sudden depletion of oxygen.
Gazing up at his infinite blue eyes, I carefully nodded my head in agreement, making sure our foreheads didn't bounce against each other. His body on mine gave me a sense of peace, like no one in the world existed except for us. I couldn't understand it and I really didn't want to.
A huge smile grew across his beautiful face as he grabbed my hand and walked me through the front entrance of the house. Trees lined acres of land that seemed to be endless. Amongst the green grass laid a garden of roses and tulips surrounded by a border made of rocks. Each rock had two initials on them, one black and one white.
I started seeing a trend here in Black Lace. Everything had the colors of black and white. Aunt Faye's Restaurant, my house, this house; Even Murphy's General Store had a black and white theme color inside.
"Why is everything black and white in this town?" I asked, pointing towards the rocks.
"I will explain everything, I promise." Sebastian said, pulling me away from the flowers and back into the grass.
