Walking through the packhouse door seemed like a whole new experience now that Sebastian had left his mark. Members I didn't even know were congratulating me with open arms and offering to help me in any way possible.
"Good morning Luna. May I get you a drink?" A beautiful little girl asked. She was only about nine or ten years old.
Getting down on my knees, I put my hands out to her. She gratefully placed her hands in mine and swung her body back and forth. "I would love a bottle of water," I smiled. "But can you do one other thing for me?"
With a smile growing across her face, she inched closer to me like I was about to tell her a secret. "Anything, Luna." She said, her voice squeaky and high pitched.
"Would you go get Tessa for me please?"
She quickly scrambled to get a bottle of water out of the fridge and ran up the steps to retrieve Tessa.
"You're really good with kids." Sebastian smiled while wrapping his arms around my waist, hugging me from behind.
Placing his head on my shoulder, I craned my neck to kiss his cheek. "I love children. I always wanted a few of my own."
Grabbing my hand, he spun me around like a dancer in a grand ballroom. Pressing his hands flat against my lower back, I wrapped my arms around his neck. "I can make that happen, ya know?" He winked.
"Is that so Mr. Cross?" Swirls of pink colored my cheeks as he smiled down at me.
"Absolutely." He growled as he quickly put his head near my neck, biting and tugging on my skin, making me let out a shriek.
We were enshrouded in our little world; Whatever happened outside didn't matter. It was just the two of us, and that was all that mattered.
Sebastian always made me feel like I was on cloud nine. Ever since he marked me, I had to have him close to me every second, or it would be like a part of me was missing. It was physically painful
Bringing my lips to his, I kissed him gently, resisting the urge to jump him right there in the foyer. "Get a room you two." A boisterous voice rang through the room.
Letting go of Sebastian, I turned around and saw Tessa standing there with Erik. I ran to her, engulfing her in my arms. 406Please respect copyright.PENANAWTNBdaCIbe
"I'm so sorry I yelled at you." I admitted, tears rolling down my face.
Holding me tight, she sniffled, her tears staining my shirt. "You don't have to be sorry. I should have told you. Please forgive me?" Tessa begged.
"Why are girls so gushy?" Erik sighed as he moved past us to stand next to Sebastian.
"I think it's kinda sweet," Sebastian smiled, winking at the two of us.
"No, no, no. She made you soft man, get a grip Alpha!" Erik cried out, waving his fingers back and forth.
The two of us laughed at their ridiculously immature behavior, then walked hand in hand to the kitchen.
Tessa opened the fridge to get a pitcher of lemonade and grabbed two ice cold mugs from the freezer. Sitting down, she smoothed out the table cloth and slid a glass over to me. 406Please respect copyright.PENANAdv5im3Ut9g
"So? How was it?" She smiled suggestively, fidgeting in her seat.
Embarrassed, I put my head down and twiddled my thumbs. I knew girls would brag and swoon about those things, but I was never one to kiss and tell.
"Oh come on. I need to know. Like really NEED to know. You can spare me all the sexy parts. Just tell me how the marking felt."
"Well..." I started.
"Veronica, my parents are here!" Sebastian hollered from the other room. "Hurry up and get in here."
I rose quickly from the chair and smoothed out my long white and black flowered dress. It was mostly an attempt to impress his Mom, since the dress itched and was difficult to walk in. I was still very interested in the colors in Black Lace and hoped his mother might provide more context on it.
Running out to the patio, Sebastian was standing on the middle of the concrete steps, staring in the direction of the gravel road. I walked as quietly as I could, but his super hearing caused him to whip his head.
"They will be here in a minute." He said with a giant grin on his face.
It tugged at my heart, seeing how excited he was getting, and how anxious he had become. I was like that once, but that was a long time ago.

FLASHBACK
As I sat on the soft steps just below the landing, the anticipation was growing stronger and stronger. I couldn't wait for my dad to walk through those french doors and scoop me up into my favorite bear hug.
He had only been gone for a week, but to me, it felt like forever. My knees were shaking back and forth as my legs involuntarily cramped from sitting.. My throat was getting dry as I had been glued to the steps for over an hour.
Listening closely, I could hear the faint sound of an engine roaring. I knew that he would be walking through that door any second. Watching the handle closely, I saw it jiggle then turn fully.
"Daddy!" I screamed as I launched my body into his open arms. "I missed you so much."
"I missed you too baby girl!" He cooed, his monstrous arms holding me tight.
Dropping his bag and rifle by the door, he walked towards my mom and swooped her up to kiss her sweetly. I wanted a marriage like that. Love that knew of no distance or time. A love exactly like my parents.
"Where's Grandpa?" I asked, still waiting for him to walk through the door.
Bending down, my dad grabbed my hands. "Let's sit down for a minute."

"Veronica, are you okay?"
Turning my attention back to Sebastian I nodded, but I really wasn’t. I was trying to rid the memory from my mind.
That day was one of the happiest days of my life, but also one of the worst.
"My baby!" A woman cried out as she ran to Sebastian. Her long blonde hair whipped past me, and I caught a faint whiff of her honeysuckle scent.
She was even more beautiful in real life. Her skin was porcelain and unblemished, her small body frame slipping smoothly into Sebastian's arms. I couldn't help but smile.
"You must be Sebastian’s mate." His father breathed out, obviously winded from running after his wife.
"I am. It's a pleasure to meet you too, Mr. Cross."
"Oh no, none of that." He said, walking closer to me with his arms out for a hug. "You can call me Dad. You are the Luna of the pack now and that makes you family."
A smile grew over my face as I hugged him back tightly. I couldn’t believe that they were accepting me this fast. It felt so unreal, like this was all a dream.
