In two weeks, my whole world has been turned upside down and inside out, leaving me spinning and dizzy. In two weeks, Sebastian had became my sun, the one who kept me in perfect orbit. I wanted his big strong arms wrapped around my body, comforting me, telling me that everything would be okay.
Curling up on the couch, I covered myself in a small gray blanket that I had ripped out of the linen closet after Mitchell left. I just needed to think for a little while, and maybe even cry some more.
Laying my head down on the decoration pillow, I grunted, displeased with how hard it was. Sitting back up, a crunching sound caught my attention. I walked over to the window and parted the curtains. It was Sebastian, walking to the front door.
Internally, I shrieked with joy, my heart skipping at double tempo. Jumping over my shoes, I ran to the door, grabbing the cold handle. In one swift motion, I swung the door open and rushed into his waiting arms. As he held me tightly, I finally let the tears flow out of my eyes.
"It's okay, baby, let it out." He whispered as I cried into his chest, my tears staining his shirt.
Sweeping me into his arms bridal style, I interlocked my fingers around his neck and held on tight. He walked into the living room and sat down on the couch with me on his lap.
"Talk to me, tell me what you're feeling." He murmured, gently stroking my hair.
Leaning my head against his chest, I listened to his heart beat. Slowly, our beats synchronized until we were of one being. Listening to his heart beat had a calming effect on me, lulling me into a gentle peace.
"I'm feeling every emotion possible." I whispered.
Resting his chin on my head he inhaled deeply."I know exactly how you feel. When I first met Mitchell, I didn't even know you existed. At the time, I was only worried about protecting my pack and carrying out my Alpha duties," he continued. "I only realized you were Mitchell’s sister when he overheard me speaking about you. Believe it or not, he actually tried to intimidate me when I told him you were my mate." He laughed. “Me! His alpha!”
A smile made its way to my face at the thought of my brother attempting to intimidate Sebastian when he was simply a big teddy bear.
"To be honest, I was angry at him. Angry that he didn't tell me about you sooner. I knew my mate was out there, but I just didn't know where. If he had told me about you, I would have met you, stopped you from moving to Arizona and protected you from all this."
His muscles were starting to tense as he continued to speak. Slowly, I ran my hand up his chest and held the side of his neck while my thumb rubbed over his cheek in an attempt to calm him.
"If you didn't even know I was your mate when I lived next to your town, how could you expect Mitchell to know?" I questioned him lightly.
"I understand that now, but at that time I did not. I was so frustrated that you were so close and then so far away. I was upset that it took me this long to find you and love you the way you deserve to be."
Did he just say he loved me? Out of everything he just said, those were the only words that stuck out. My heart raced and butterflies whirled furiously in my stomach.
"I will always be here for you, Veronica." He smiled. "I'm not going anywhere, even if you don't want to be my mate. I will never let anything happen to you."
Lifting my head up to look at him I gazed into his big blue eyes. "I am happy that I am your mate, Sebastian. I love-." I choked on my words. "I love being with you. You make me feel complete."
Without hesitation, he kissed my forehead and ran his fingers down my face. They felt so good against my skin, sending electric tingles down my spine.
"The love I have for you is indescribable. I can't even begin to express the way I feel about you, but I will try every day until my last breath. I will tell you, show you everyday how lucky I am to have you in my life. Tell you how beautiful you are, and how much I truly do love you." He breathed out, not stumbling once on his words.
“It sounds like you memorized that from a sappy love story.” I said playfully.
“That’s because I said it over and over again in my head. It’s the sappy love story of my heart.” He smiled.
Repositioning myself I straddled his lap so I could look into his eyes. I was tired of running away from how I felt, and feeling sorry for myself that my life was messed up. I had the most amazing man who loved me, and all I did was act like a child.
"I love you, Sebastian." I confessed. "I fell in love with you so quickly that it scared me. I didn't want to put myself out there just so I would get hurt. I don't know how to be a Luna or run a pack, but I want to. I think… I'm ready to become yours forever."
Taking in a deep breath, I exhaled, the weight that had been crushing me since the incident in Arizona had been lifted. A soft smile crept onto his face as we stared into each others eyes, each alight with promises and hopeful futures ahead.
He sweetly placed his lips on mine and kissed me tenderly. With our lips so close together, I could feel every word, every breath that left his body. "And I love you too."
Lifting me up off his lap, he laid me down on the couch, carefully shifting his weight to his arms. Lowering his solid body down on mine, he kissed my forehead and worked his way down my neck. A groan escaped from my lips as he slightly pulled at my hair, giving him better access to my neck and shoulders.
He breathed in deeply as he continued to tease me by softly biting and sucking my neck. My body arched under his, the feeling of his lips on my skin sending waves of pleasure through me. Finding my lips again, he kissed me passionately, his tongue dancing across mine.
Sliding my hands under his shirt, I raked my nails down his chest causing him to let out a low growl.
