The world just stopped. Time seemed to have froze. It was quiet, like the calm before the storm. The wolves had parted ways, the wounded still laying in the field as the others retreated to the tree lines to intently watch their leader.
"You!" I fumed through gritted teeth, pointing my index finger into his face. "You killed my brother." I fought back the tears blurring my vision. I would not allowing him to see my weakness.
He took small steps backwards as I moved closer and closer to him. I wanted to bathe in his blood, rip his insides out through his mouth as he choked on his intestines. The scenarios running through my head were morbid, disgusting.
"You will change back, NOW!" I growled, feeling the rumble in my chest as the words escaped my mouth. I was loud. Demanding. Scary.
Suddenly, his bones started crunching as his paws turned back into hands. His fur retreating, smoothing out as skin. His body snapping as the bones shifted back into place.
Now, a naked Allen stood in front of me, covering his manhood with his hands as his cheeks flushed. His body was covered in scars, some fresh, some old. A long gash on his side was starting to heal, the blood already drying as it turned a darker shade of red.
"D-don't be h-hasty." He stuttered. "We c-can work this out."
A mischievous smile made its way to my lips. "Hold him." I demanded, turning my attention to the wolves behind me.
Staring into his eyes I stepped closer to his detained body. "I am going to torture you until your body can't take anymore." I slowly raked my nails down his chest, pressing as hard as I could, drawing blood as they slid down his skin.
Creeping my hand along his back, I stopped at his healing gash. "I will torture you until you beg me to stop." I whispered in his ear before gabbing my thumb into his side, opening the wound back up.
His scream of agonizing pain was music to my ears. It was worth every second I spent debating on if I should spare his injury.
"And last but not least, I will torture you until you beg me to kill you." I spat, trying to control my hands from wrapping around his throat and snapping his neck.
His trembling body stood still as I finished my complete circle around him. I could smell the fear that radiated through his pores. The salty stench of his sweat mixed with his canine aroma made me want to kill him more.
"Cuff him. Take him back to the cells and throw his ass in there. Looking at his face makes me sick." I bellowed to the protectors who changed back into their human form while I was yelling at Allen.
I could almost taste the sweetness of revenge as they dragged him away. His body slouched, his legs dragging along the grassy dirt. He had no will to survive now, and it gave me great pleasure to see him slowly dying inside.
Turning my attention back to the pack, I failed to realize my own mate was hurt. All of my senses were completely blurred by the rage I felt for Allen. Noah and Erik kneeled over Sebastian, obscuring my view of him. As I walked slowly over, I could see the red tinged fur all along his belly, a flap of skin hanging down into the dirt.
"What happened?" I cried to anyone that would listen.
"We need to get them to the hospital, now, before.." Erik stopped talking and lowered his head. He was hurting.
He didn't have to finish his sentence. I knew exactly what he was going to say.
"Before he too dies."

"There is only so much I can do." The little woman whispered to Erik. "You know I will do my absolute best to save them both. This isn't just battle wounds. Something else is preventing them from healing. I just need to find the source."
Sitting with my head in my hands I listened as Dr. Ellen ran around giving orders to the visiting nurses from surrounding packs. The number of our wolves hurt was far more than we could have imagined.
These rogues were not normal. They were stronger, faster than the typical wolf. It was as if they were some kind of "super wolf."
Waiting until everyone finally filed out of the room, I sat between Sebastian and Mitchell, holding each of their hands. "Why? Why the both of you?" I croaked, my throat dry from all the screaming and crying. "Please, just wake up."
Not letting either of them go I sat quietly sobbing. With each passing hour, minute, my eyes were becoming heavier and heavier, but I refused to let them close. I did not want to miss one of them waking up, moving their feet, their hands. The only reminder I had was the heart monitor beeping, telling me they were still alive.
"Save them." A voice echoed.
I stood up quickly and attempted to look around the room. The shades were drawn tight allowing very little light to enter the room. The darkness was all that surrounded us.
"Save them."
"W-who's there? Come ou-out." I stuttered. My hands were starting to become clammy as I thought back to Miranda. How she broke into my house and hid in the darkness like a coward. It was happening all over again.
"She was indeed a coward, I am not. You can not see me because my body is not here. I am in your mind, in your blood." Her old voice cracked as she talked.
I carefully walked through the room, my hands outstretched in front of me to ensure I didn't hit anything. My steps small and shuffled, so I didn't trip.
"What are you talking about?" I whispered, careful not to alarm any of the nurses sitting outside the room chatting away.
"I can teach you how to save them. It is in your bones, your very existence is made up of the power you will unleash."
"I have officially lost it. I'm going crazy." I thought to myself. "You are so worn down you think someone is talking to you in your head." I mentally smacked myself, trying to get a grip on reality.
"Do you really think a mere, normal human would have been chosen by the Moon Goddess to be mated to an Alpha?" She asked.
This question peaked my interest. It was one I continuously asked myself. It never made sense that I was a human, mated to a werewolf, and my siblings were half wolf. How could I just be nothing? A nobody?
"I'm listening." I said in a soft tone, making my way back to the chair between Sebastian and Mitchell.
"The Moon Goddess chooses her suitors carefully. Who will balance the other. Who is truly their other half. Who makes them complete. When she chose you for Sebastian, she was careful, meticulous."
Interrupting the woman's speech I rubbed my temples, "I don't understand a word you're saying. You are talking in riddles. Just tell me why you are in my head. Most importantly how you are in my head, and who the hell you are."
I could hear the woman chuckling before she exhaled loudly. "You will meet me tomorrow. There is a path along the north side of the pack house, follow it until you reach the fork. The left trail will lead you directly to my cottage. I will be expecting you."
"Why? I-I don't even know who you are. You could be evil for all I know. I-I could be walking into a trap." I said, stumbling on my words.
My eyes were starting to well up with tears. Every inch of my body exploding with twinges of pain. The emotional rollercoaster I was on was becoming unbearable.
"How do I know you won't try to kill me?" I finally sobbed.
"That will be your gamble to take." She sighed. "What I can tell you my child, is you hold the very key, the power needed to save them. Everyone."
Wiping my tears with the sleeve of my shirt I curled my legs up to my chest. "You still haven't told me who you are."
It was silent for a long minute.
"I am the one who saved you."
