"Where the hell did she go?" I screamed, picking up the wing back chair and tossing it against the wall. My room had become a disaster zone, looking as if a tornado had passed through it. Picking up another item I unknowingly threw it in the direction of my best friend.
Erik was quick to dodge as the vase flew through the air, finally making contact with the wall and crashing into a million pieces. He moved closer to the door ready to leave at any given moment if my erratic behavior continued.
"You have to find her, please." I begged him, desperation apparent in my voice.
I needed to have her near me. I needed to feel that connection to her. I felt like my heart was being ripped out of my chest, all of my organs squeezed. I could feel her pulling away through the bond.
"Sebastian, we can't find her. We have searched everywhere. We even checked Abigail's place and nothing."
I growled loudly, wanting so badly to turn into my wolf, but I couldn't. He would not talk to me, wouldn't show himself to me. I messed up so badly that I have lost everything that has ever meant something to me.
'Just- I mean do whatever you have to bring her home to me."
"I will Alpha." Erik promised. "I will."
He quietly exited the room and left me alone with my thoughts and constant reminder that I am a major fuck up.
I acted like a complete fool, a bratty child that wanted to be right. I don't know how I could ever begin to ask her for forgiveness, ask her to continue to love me the way she has.
I flopped my body down on my bed and stared at the ceiling. "Please let somebody find her." I prayed. "Please."

Waking up to an excited Tessa was not the route I would have chosen to take this early in the morning. Instead of calling my name civilly, she decided to jump on my bed like a teenager, calling my name a million times.
"What in good god do you want woman? Can't you see I'm sleeping?" I asked, furious she had woken me up.
"Veronica is home!" She said giddily, continuing to jump. "I suggest you go take a shower, you stink."
She was home? Why didn't she come right in here?
Ripping the blankets off of my body I started toward the door, anger building deep inside me. How dare she be gone this long and not contact anyone. Where the hell had she been?
"Stop!" Tessa screeched, jumping off the bed and running in front of me. "If you go at her with that temper and attitude she will leave again. I grew up with Veronica, I know how she works."
The urge to push Tessa out of my way was overwhelming. It was painful to stand there and listen to her knowledge of Veronica, something I supposedly use to know.
"Tess," I said, taking a few deep breaths to calm myself. "Is that mark on her neck really mine?"
In an instant her hand connected with my face, shocking the both of us. "How dare you question my sisters mark, you fool. You bit her, now you will either accept her or reject her." She seethed.
"I would never reject my true mate." I barked back, ready to pounce at any sudden movement she made.
"Then accept that my sister is your mate. Accept that my sister is the Luna of this pack. Accept that my sister has never given up on your sorry ass, even when everyone else has." She blurted out.
"You bit-"
"Wow! I leave for a few hours and this is what happens?" Veronica interrupted, shaking her head in disgust. "I can't leave you alone with anyone can I?" She asked, shooting her question at me.
"I-"
"No," she said. "You can sit the hell down and listen to what I have to say. Tessa, you can leave."
Crossing her arms, Tessa bumped her shoulder into me, acting as if she didn't see me there. "Oops, sorry Alpha, was that my shoulder that bumped you?" She snickered.
I could see the grin forming on Veronica's face. She was happy her sister was sticking up for her.
Wrapping her arms around her shoulders, Tessa held her tight. They whispered to each other before letting go and Veronica turned her attention back to me.
"Do you have anything to say for yourself?" She asked, shifting her weight onto one side of her body and tapping her foot.
"I-I was just angry you were gone is all. We couldn't find you. You just disappeared." I explained.
"Why do you all of a sudden care where I am? You made it very clear that you do not believe I am your mate."
She is right. I don't understand how she could be my mate, but I can't shake the feeling that she is pulling away from me, the bond we have stretching thin.
She walked over quietly and sat down on the bed. Her beautiful blonde hair was wavy today, making it appear shorter than I had seen it before.
Glancing at her neck I stared at the mark. It had faded, only a small scar resembling teeth remaining on her perfect skin.
Raising my hand, I gently swiped my finger over her mark, as a low moan escaped her lips. My touch made her body weak, made her body tremble.
"Please don't." She breathed. "You know what that does to me."
Pushing her hair away from her face I lifted her chin, scanning over her beautiful face. Her eyes were the perfect blue. Her skin the warmest tan I've ever seen.
I felt as if I was looking at her for the first time. Feeling her skin under my fingertips for the first time.
"Veronica," I started. "Please forgive me. I am disgusted with myself for the way I have treated you. You have only tried to help, but instead I pushed you away."
I could see her shoulders begin to relax as the tension in the room eased. She closed her eyes for a long second before looking back at me.
"How can I forgive someone who hates me? Who doesn't think I'm worthy of being their mate?"
A small tear rolled down her cheek, catching on her top lip before rolling down her chest. I promised myself I would never hurt my mate, never make her cry, but all I've done is inflict pain on this woman.
"I don't hate you." I said sympathetically.
But she just shrugged her shoulders and shook her head.
Maybe I should just reject her, save her from this misery she is living in. She could then return to being a normal human, live a normal life.
"She is not normal. She will never lead a normal life. If you reject her, she will pledge her loyalty to the Healers." I heard my wolf growl.
"You're back!" I yelled in my head, excited to hear his sweet growly voice.
"Are you okay?" Veronica asked, nervously shifting her body on the bed. A smile must have stretched across my face, alerting her to something going on.
"My wolf. He's back!" I couldn't begin to describe the happiness and love that flowed through my body. It was like a wave of warmth washed over every bit of me.
"That's great!" She shrieked, wrapping her arms around my neck to give me a hug. I sat frozen for a second before letting my body relax and hug her back. 473Please respect copyright.PENANAFEDYTbVqej
"If you reject our mate I will reject you. You will be wolf-less." He hissed, pushing to get his point across.
"Why did you come back?" I asked.
He shook out his fur before plopping himself down on his backend. "I will not allow you to reject our mate. And for the first time you have shown compassion for her."
"Sebastian," Veronica interrupted. "I'm going to go so you can be with your wolf."
"No!" I said quickly, dismissing her thought to leave. "Stay, please."
She gave me a smile and laid back on the bed, folding her hands over her stomach. Moving myself closer, I laid down next to her, enjoying the smell of lavender that emanated from her hair.
"What were we like before I lost my memory?" I asked her, hoping she would tell me everything.
Veronica turned her head toward me and smiled. "You were so sweet, so gentle. You could make my heart flutter just by the way you talked to me, the way you said my name. I fell in love with you before I even knew it. You are the only man who has ever set my heart on fire."
Listening to her talk about me like that made me want to be that man, be everything I was. Only I didn't know how. How could I try to be someone I don't remember?
She inched closer and cuddled up along side me, her head resting on my chest. I could feel our hearts beating to the same rhythm like they were one.
Brushing the top of her hair my fingers ignited with shock waves, tingling up my arm to my ice cold heart.
She really was my mate.
And I was an idiot.

***Abigail POV***
Standing alone in the forest I was becoming impatient. I hated being on time when the other party was always late and this man was the king of tardiness.
"You came, thank you." He said joyfully, adjusting the baseball cap on his head.
I scanned the area looking for any threats before approaching his large build. "How dare you request my presence. If anyone sees us together this will end up very bad for the both of us." I reminded him.
"Relax, no one is out here. They don't even know where you are."
I exhaled loudly, agreeing with his statement. I have been laying low for the past two days.
"So tell me, how is our precious Alpha doing without his memory?" His words were like venom, dripping off of his fangs, waiting to sink his teeth in again to cause more damage.
He chuckled for short second, walking around the massive oak tree. I despised being in this mans presence, but I owed him, big time.
"Tell me." He ordered.
"He is not doing well. His wolf has abandoned him. He doesn't believe Veronica is his mate. He is aggressive."
"Perfect." He purred as a grin slid onto his face. "Just as we planned. Soon poor Sebastian will wither away to nothing when Veronicas pull to the healers grow. Then we enforce phase two."
A shadow casted on his face as he rubbed his hands together. The ominous black cloud made him look more threatening and evil than ever before.
He really was the darkness that invades your dreams, turning them into nightmares.
