Isaiah looked at his surroundings and noticed he was in the forest. He was confused but didn't think much of it. He slowly walked toward a dirt path that led to nothing more than endless paths of trees.
"Isaiah."
The Alpha stopped in his tracks. "Alyara?" He looked everywhere, but she was nowhere to be seen. "Alyara, my love! Where are you!?"
"Isaiah."
He followed where her voice was coming from and ran straight ahead. He ran through bushes, rocks, and other trees and stopped. He saw Alyara in a simple white dress standing by a small waterfall. Alyara smiled at him. She extended her hands out to him. "Isaiah."
"Alyara." Isaiah was slowly walking towards her, but as he was to step into the water, his feet were dragged on the ground. "What in the-!?" He looked forward and saw Alyara looking at him, her hands still extended out toward him. Suddenly, two hands and arms that looked to belong to a man grabbed her by the waist, taking her inside the water.
"No! Alyara!"
"Gah!" Isaiah was breathing heavily. He sat up from the bed and looked at his surroundings; he was in his room. His alarm was going off; it was 6:30 am. "It was just a nightmare." He slowly got off his bed. "I need to shower. I have the meeting today."
Isaiah showered in warm water as he planned where to take Alyara. He wanted to take her somewhere nice. Once finished, he dried, dressed, and got to his car. The Alpha decided to get his coffee and chocolate chip cookie for breakfast. He made it to his favorite coffee place, got his order, and drove to the office. Traffic was slowly picking up, but Isaiah arrived on time. He made it to the office, where he was greeted by many of his workers.
Many of his workers were from his pack, while most were human. He made it to the top floor where his office was located, and there, Darren and ten men stood outside his office. They did a bow. "Alpha."
Isaiah nodded as he opened his office door and motioned everyone to enter. "Good morning to you all."
"Good morning, Alpha," the pack members responded as they entered the office. One of the men closed the door. The men stood straight as Isaiah sat on his seat while Darren stood beside him.
"State your names."
"I am Jacob, Alpha."
"Jack."
"Yolondo."
"Steffan, an honor Alpha."
"Andrew."
"Ivan."
"Osborn."
"Randy."
"Quiroz."
"Dilan, Alpha."
The men bowed.
"I am sure you all are curious about why you were all summoned here today. Well, I have great news to share with you all. I have finally found my mate."
The men looked at one another and mumbled to one another. "We offer our congratulation to you, Alpha. We are happy that our Luna has been found at last."
Isaiah nodded. "Yes. My mate is a human." The men whispered to one another but then became silent quickly. "Even though my mate is human, you all are to respect her; she does not know my true identity, for I want to court her properly. Sometimes it is a bit more difficult when humans know of our existence, and I don't want to jeopardize our safety and lose my mate."
Darren then walked up. "Since our Alpha is to court our Luna, it will take a little time, so we decided to call upon you all. As you all know, we have enemies, rogues, and hunters. Since that is the case, we ask you all to be her guardians."
The pack members were stunned. "We are to guard our Luna? This is such an honor!" The others agreed and thanked their Alpha and Beta for choosing them. It was considered an immense honor to guard the Alpha or Luna in the werewolf world. The Alpha and Luna were considered royalty, and guarding royalty brings honor to members.
Darren walked forward. "I have chosen you all because you all have the skill and good reputations for protecting our pack from rogues. Do not make me regret my decision."
"You won't, Beta," said one of the men.
"I will give the information and duties tomorrow morning. Also, do not tell anyone in the pack that I have my mate; that is my responsibility alone. Understood?" asked Isaiah.
"Yes, Alpha!"
"Good, you are all dismissed." The men left the office, leaving Isaiah and Darren alone.
"That went well. I can't believe so much has happened in such a short period. Now, come on. Tell me more about her."
Isaiah chuckled. "Well, I don't know a lot about her yet. We only had a mild conversation since she was cautious. I'm going to call her to invite her out for dinner." He looked at Darren, who eyed him curiously. "I need you out of my office."
"Oh, come on! You can't make the call with me here?" Isaiah gave him a warning look, and Darren relented. "Fine! I thought you would like my company for luck." Darren left the office; Isaiah took out his phone and marked Alyara's number. He heard the ringing and his heartbeat in anticipation.
Then...
She answered. "Hello?"
"Alyara, it's Isaiah."
Alyara was silent on the other end for a bit. "Oh, hello, Isaiah. How are you?"
"I am well, thank you for asking. I am calling to see if you can come with me for dinner tomorrow as friends?"
The young woman was silent momentarily."Uh, sure. I have nothing planned."
Isaiah felt relieved and excited. "Great, I will pick you up tomorrow at five. Is that okay?"
"Yeah."
"Great, I will pick you up outside your apartment. I will see you tomorrow!"
Both hung up. Rafael howled with joy."Whoo hoo! We're going to see our mate again! I can't wait to-"
"No, I will have the date with her. You are going to raise hell and scare her off, Rafael."
The wolf scoffed. "That's quite rude! You always assume the worst of me!" He and Rafael were thrilled that they would spend time with their mate. Isaiah was more worried about his stubborn wolf Rafael, who would try to convince him to mark Alyara or kidnap her. The Alpha knew that Rafael was difficult to deal with; he would have to give Rafael a long talk.
