Isaiah was in his car driving toward another destination. He mind-linked his guards who were spying on Marco. One of them told him of Marco's location. Isaiah was heading toward Marco's apartment. The guards were ordered not to let Marco leave.
About twenty minutes later, Isaiah arrived at a small apartment complex. Strangely enough, he didn't feel anyone else in the apartments except Marco. Possibly, the apartments belonged to the Hunter Society; it would have made sense. Once he got out, five of his guards came out from hiding. "What's the status?"
"Alpha, the target is in his room playing video games. He hasn't suspected of our presence," answered Dylan.
"Very well. I will meet with him. Just in case, you all get in position and prepare to attack."
"Understood, Alpha." The guards surrounded the apartment as Isaiah walked toward several stairs until he reached a particular door; he knocked. He felt Marco walking out of his room but stopped for a moment. Isaiah felt Marco's aura, and it became defensive. He then moved away from the door when gunshots were fired through the door.
"I know you're there, you dog!" yelled Marco.
Isaiah mind-linked his guards to make the move. All five left their hiding spots and went to the apartment complex. Some entered through the bedroom or bathroom window. Marco heard the movements coming from different areas. He knew he was surrounded. Marco got two guns out and began shooting where the werewolves were coming from. Isaiah and another guard used this to their advantage and entered the apartment. Isaiah got a vase and threw it at Marco.
Marco saw this and shot the vase to pieces. Suddenly, the floor was broken through by another guard in his werewolf form. He got Marco by the feet and forced him down. The others got a hold of Marco and took his weapons away. "Hnn! What the hell are you guys doing!? You do realize that you broke our treaty!"
Isaiah knelt before Marco and grabbed his hair, forcing the hunter to look at him. "That's fresh coming from a hunter who let rogues attack me and Alyara."
Marco looked confused. "What the hell are you talking about!?"
"Don't act stupid, Hunter! I know who you are! Your family has a protection zone close to my pack's land. My Beta, his mate, Alyara, and I went to Big Bear for a barbecue, but the rogues attacked us! They wouldn't have been able to if your members noticed and killed them! The only explanation is that they were able to roam freely!"
This confused the young man as he struggled to be held down. "Trust me; I don't know what you're talking about! I have no control or power over what the other hunters do. My Dad is the one in charge!"
"Your Dad?"
"Yes, my Dad is the current leader of our family and hunters! I told him about you and Alyara about you two because I was concerned about your identity! However, I never wanted Alyara to get hurt! I swear!"
Everyone was silent momentarily. "What would you like us to do, Alpha? Should we kill him?" asked Andrew.
"No, he is the son of the hunters' leader." Isaiah's eyes change to pitch black. "If what you said is true, then tell your Father this. I won't hesitate to start a war if he allows his hunters or rogues to cross my pack's territory. Let him go!"
The guards did as they were told. Everyone left the apartment. Marco was breathing heavily as he slowly stood on his feet. "I can't believe that this is happening. Dad wouldn't allow this to happen, would he?"
.................................
Alyara and her Father were waiting for her mother to finish using the restroom. Alyara noticed her Father's thoughtful gaze. "Shizhé'é, what's wrong? You've been out of it for a while."
Mojag looked at his daughter. "I didn't want to say anything, Achʼéʼé, but there is something off about that man you're seeing."
"Shizhé'é, you always were protective. You have to start being a little open. Besides, I'm not a kid anymore; I can care for myself."
"It's not that, Alyara. I sensed something in that man. I come from a long line of shamans. Shamans practice the art of healing, but we also have connections to good and evil spirits. That man of yours, I felt two spirits within him."
Alyara's legs were trembling. However, she remained calm, not wanting her Father to become even more suspicious. "Isaiah is a good man, Shizhé'é. Even if what you say is true, Isaiah has never been disrespectful to me."
Mojag was about to say something when his wife came back. All three got out of the restaurant. Alyara's parents got a hotel and didn't want to bother their daughter. Alyara tried to insist, but her parents were stubborn. In the end, they all went their separate ways.
Once home, she immediately entered her room, where Isaiah sat on the bed in his werewolf form. "Isaiah, change back; my parents are staying in a hotel. We have to talk."
Isaiah's wolf nodded as he changed into his human form. Isaiah was nude; Alyara covered her eyes. Isaiah chuckled as he got his clothes and put them on. "There's no shame in looking, my love. At least you know that your mate has the full package. You can open your eyes now."
Alyara slowly uncovered her eyes and saw Isaiah wearing his pants but no shirt. She had to admit that he looked terrific; his body was muscular, with some hairs on his chest. The image of his member was in her mind as it looked big. "No, no! Appropriate thoughts!" she told herself. "Why did you do that in the restaurant, Isaiah? I told them we're taking it slow. I was going to introduce you to them, eventually."
"Eventually, eh? Well, I'm not like you, Alyara. I've waited too long to have you by my side. Your parents should know about us. Besides, your mother likes me."
"She likes anyone who is good-looking since she wants grandchildren. Also, my main concern is with my Dad. I can't believe I forgot he comes from a long line of shamans."
Isaiah stilled. "Shamans?" He knew about them as shamanism was practiced in different parts of the world. It made sense to him why her Father was suspicious of him. He understood why Alyara wanted to take time for them to know one another, but he couldn't wait any longer. The need for Alyara was too strong.
"He sensed two spirits in you. I don't know how long I can keep this a secret. I-" She was interrupted when Isaiah stood in front of her.
"What do you feel about me, Alyara?"
"What?"
"What do you feel about me? Do you think that I will bring you trouble? Will I get in your way?"
Alyara shook her head. "It's not that. It's just that I'm worried. All this is new to me, and everything is coming too fast. You say you have feelings for me, but how will I know you won't change and hurt me?"
It hurt Isaiah and Rafael that Alyara thought they could hurt her. It would kill them both if they even lay a hand on her. Isaiah put his hands on her face. "I couldn't fathom the thought of hurting you, Alyara. I would rather kill myself than let that happen. We don't know what the future may hold, but what I can do is show you how you mean to me." Then, Isaiah pulled Alyara close to his face. He lowered his face onto hers as he put his lips onto hers.
He kissed her.
