Isaiah and Alyara arrived at their destination: a small restaurant by a beautiful traditional Japanese garden with flower ponds filled with fish and flowers. Alyara was in awe. Isaiah stood next to her. "I made reservations. We can walk to the gardens once we finish with our food."
The restaurant's interior had a traditional setting; the waiters and waitresses wore traditional kimonos. They were led to their table, which was closer to the gardens. They were served tea and water and asked if they wanted extra drinks, which the couple ordered.
They were left alone. For Isaiah, he could not get his eyes away from Alyara. However, he felt his wolf Rafael eyeing her as well. He warned his wolf to be calm and to contain himself. It was difficult for Rafael, for the wolf wanted to gain control over Isaiah, but he could not, and the wolf knew it was a lost cause. "I hope this place is to your liking. I like going to a traditional place and eating good food."
Alyara smiled. "It is so beautiful. You didn't have to bring me here. A simple coffee place would have been good, too.
"It's no problem. I figured you would like it here. The food is so delicious. Anyway, what do you do, Alyara?"
"I work full-time as an assistant preschool teacher for special education students. I have been doing this for some time now."
"So caring....so pure...." said Rafael.
Isaiah smiled. He admired what Alyara did for a living. "Yes...she is..." he said to his wolf.
"I would taint that," grinned Rafael.
Isaiah became serious. "Shut that sick mouth of yours, or I will shut you out, damn wolf!"
Rafael chuckled.
"Are you okay, Isaiah?"
He came out from his thoughts and smiled. "Sorry, I was thinking about my day. It was bustling, and I had to deal with many difficult people. Anyway, I noticed that you wear Native American jewelry. Are you Native American?"
"Yeah, I used to live on a reservation, but I came to the city to work. I help my parents when I can."
Isaiah felt his heart flutter. "You must have a lot of care, patience, and willpower to work with children with special needs; not many people have those traits or may not fully understand how they are. I also admire and respect people who help their parents when in need; you have a heart of gold."
Alyara could not help but blush. "Thank you. My friend tells me that a lot."
Isaiah stilled. "Is this the friend you crush on?" he said with a hint of annoyance.
"Great! Everything is going perfectly, and that son of a bitch is being mentioned!" growled Rafael.
"Yeah, his name is Marco. His mother died in a hunting accident. His dad is still alive, but Marco and his dad didn't have the same relationship after his mother's death. His Uncle raised him, and Marco did his best to live his life. I guess that's why I like him; he overcomes hardships."
Isaiah tried to change the subject. "Well, there are many people that have a strong will and many that faced tougher hardships. You are one of them. So tell me more about your profession and your family."
The food arrived; the two began to eat. The two learned about one another. Alyara knew Isaiah was originally from Romania, but he and his family moved to different European countries and the United States. Isaiah and Rafael learned that Alyara had worked since childhood to help her family and save for school. They realized their mate endured many hardships, but she still had a heart of gold.
Isaiah and Rafael could not help but fall for her more.
