I hurry upstairs to tell Kenza and Alice what’s going on and to get ready to go.

Kenza and Alice were excited when I told them the news. I was very excited too because it means we could go see Puck and stay as long as we want. We all immediately got ready to leave. They wanted to come along and help Mom and Dad pick out a good car.

It didn’t take long to get to the BMV. The five of us all went inside. Kenza , Alice, and I waited in the waiting area while Mom and Dad set up the test for me.

It took them a few minutes to get everything set up. As soon as they finished getting everything ready they came over to us where we were sitting in the waiting area. They said I had to wait for around 20 minutes and then they all left me to wait my turn while they went car shopping.

While I was sitting in this very hard, very uncomfortable chair I started to think about how different my life is now then it was in the coma. A lot of things were the same but many were different. There’s good and bad things in both real life and the coma life. The coma wasn’t like some perfect life that I wish I could live in, there were some bad things and hard times, like my parents dying. Sure I would love to live that life but real life is also pretty good, the coma was fake. Although I really wish that things were the same for me and my friends. Like us living near each other and not having things to worry about like if our parents would let us go find the others and hospitals and places to live.

I also thought about calling Puck to tell him what was happening but I didn’t think there would be enough time to talk to him so I decided to call him when I got back home.

I was so lost in my thoughts that I almost didn’t hear my name being called. I got up and walked to the counter where some lady called my name from.

“Luke Greene?” She asks, I’m guessing to make sure I’m the person she’s looking for.

“You’re here to take a driving test, correct?” She asks.

“Good. It looks like your parents already signed everything that needed to be filled out so you are ready to take the test. Are you ready to go?”

“Yep.” I reply. I’m super excited but I tried to keep it cool. I didn’t need some lady asking why I was so excited or making some stupid assumption like I was excited to finally drive a car.

“Okay. Go get in your car and get it started. Don’t move the car. An instructor will be out momentarily to start your test.” She sounded so monotone saying that. She must say it a million times day.

I go and do as she says. It doesn’t take long for the instructor to come. This time it was a guy. He didn’t get in right away. He asked me to do somethings so he could check things like the lights and the horn. Then he got in and told me the rules and what all I would do for the test.

The first thing I had to do was what they call maneuverability which was basically parallel parking but with cones. This was the part I was worried about, I passed it easily though, straight in and straight out in less than a minute. It was actually pretty simple.

Next was the road part of the test. I figured this would be easy since I have been driving since I was 14, even though I was in a coma for two years I still knew how to drive. The instructor only talked and told me when to turn and which way. He basically took me around the block. It was super easy and I passed without any points being taken off.

When we got back to the BMV he handed me some papers and told me I could go get my license. I did just that. All I had to do was answer a few questions and then they had to take my picture and I was done.

I was so happy that I got my license finally, even though I had been driving already it felt good to be able to drive legally and not have to worry about getting pulled over and it also meant I could go to Puck and hopefully the three of us can find Aviana since we know barely anything about her in real life.

Mom, Dad, Alice, and Kenza still weren’t back from the dealership so I called Mom to see how much longer they thought they were gunna be.

“Hey, Mom. How long you think you guys are gunna be?” I ask, I didn’t bother to tell her I passed it was pretty obvious I was going to pass.

“Of course I passed. Was there any doubt?” I ask with a light laugh.

“No. There wasn’t.” She says laughing too. “We’re still looking. We haven’t found anything good yet. You can walk down here so you can help look. Just leave the car there, there’s no need to bring it here. Once you get a car you could just drop us off back at our car.” I was hoping they would almost be done by now. I guess my test wasn’t very long though.

I hear voices talking on the other end but I can’t hear it clearly so I have no clue who’s talking or about what. “Luke?” Mom asks. “You still there?”

I had walked almost five minutes before I even saw Kenza. I guess the car shop was farther away than we first thought.

“Awee doesn’t Lukey like his nickname?” She teases back. Now we were just standing on the sidewalk talking. We had meet up and completely stopped walking.

“We should probably start walking back now and help them choose.” I say. It was nice having time alone with Kenza but we needed to get back to make sure they got a good car.

“Yeah, I guess so.” She agrees. There was a hint of disappointment on her face but it instantly went away when I randomly grabbed her hand while we were walking. I don’t know why I did but it felt like I should so I did. I really like the feeling of holding hands with her, it made my stomach feel all light and it made Kenza feel better which made me happy. I had a smile on my face and upon a glance over at Kenza I could see that she did too.

We didn’t talk much while we walked. Just enjoyed each others company. Sometime along the way one of us moved our hands to where our fingers were laced together instead of just holding hands.

When we were almost to the car dealership I remembered I hadn’t told Puck what all was happening. I stopped in my tracks causing Kenza to also stop. “What is it Luke?” She asked, sounding a little confused.

“I forgot I haven’t told Puck what was going on yet. I only called him this morning to tell him that we were trying to come today.” I tell her.
