We all sat in Tyler's basement, where a huge flat screen displaying a game of COD hung on a wall. Dylan and Jordan sat on bean bags and played aggressively, eyes pointed to the screen. I sat on a rolling chair and rolled across the room, singing some Adele song dramatically while intentionally crossing in front of the screen to block their view. They didn't complain, though, as if they were too focused to notice.
Tyler and Amber dominated the couch with a heated make-out session. They didn't mind anyone watching them as they carelessly kissed. Tyler's hand went up Amber's skirt while she pulled his shirt up to expose his bare chest. Her tank top slid up a little as well, and I couldn't help but notice her belly popping a bit more than usual. I almost forgot that Amber is carrying a baby, and now that it's been more than three months, her stomach is starting to get rounder every day.
"So tomorrow is Halloween, my favorite day of the whole year," Cody says, pouring some drinks at the mini bar Tyler had in the basement.
"Damn right!"
"Wooh!"
Everyone cheered, including Tyler and Amber, who have just stopped eating each other's face a few minutes ago. We all started talking about the costumes we were going to wear and the parties we were going to crash. Everything was going great until Amber decided to talk.
"I have an easy costume for you, Nicole," she said with a bitter smile. I swear to God, it's like her mouth is dripping venom.
"What?" I ask with a lack of interest.
"Just put on a dress and some lipstick," she answered with a shrug.
"And what will I be?"
"A girl," she grinned sarcastically. Tyler chuckled quietly, but Kyle carelessly laughed out loud. How the fuck is this funny? I stay calm and quickly find a good comeback.
"I have a great costume for you as well, Amber," I offer her the same smile.
"What is it, as if I care?" She kept her smile, and we both stayed smiling at each other. The guys give us all their attention, clearly feeling the tension heating up in the air. At times like this, I wished Denise was here to join me in this.
"Just be yourself, and you'll be a natural slut," I widened my smile, showing her my teeth. Her smile starts to fade away, and Tyler starts whispering inaudible things in her ear.
I only heard Will say, "shit," and the next thing I know is Amber's boobs pressed against my face. The bitch was pulling my hair like a mad woman, and I couldn't pull her off me. We both fell from the chair, and luckily I ended up on top of her. Her hands were moving in every direction, and my main priority was protecting my face from her sharp claws. She was cursing in all forms of languages. Heck, I even heard her swear in Spanish.
I feel my body being carried off the floor by two strong arms. It took Will to pull me away, and Cody and Dylan to stand in my way so I wouldn't reach for that bitch again. Only minutes passed, and I was back to rolling across the room, and Amber was making out with her boyfriend again. It happened all the time, and everyone got used to it.
It's October 31, and Halloween has arrived. Halloween might be my best holiday and my worst. I mean, you get to dress up as anything--literally anything. You would occasionally find hot dogs and hamburgers walking around the neighborhood, and no one says anything about it, which is awesome. But it's also an excuse for guys to wear speedos, and girls to walk around naked. It's also a chance to see couple costumes--ketchup and mustard, angel and devil, peanut butter and jam, or even the two cups of a bra--and gag as you look at them.
Speaking of couples, Amber and Tyler decided to wear complementing costumes today. Amber wore a blue mini skirt and a matching button down shirt, yet she didn't exactly make use of the buttons. Most of her tight shirt was unbuttoned, revealing a black lace bra and a good amount of cleavage. In addition, she wore combat boots, a black belt with handcuffs hanging from it, and a police hat. She says she's a police officer, but a stripper is more like it.
Tyler wore a full orange suit but kept the shirt unbuttoned with a white tank under it. His usually spiked up hair was now brushed down to cover his forehead, giving him a messy, prison-like look. Another stupid couple costume.
"He's been a lot of trouble, and he'll earn his punishment tonight," Amber said, handcuffing Tyler's left hand and pulling him behind her. I look at them in disgust, and Tyler winks at me as he walks past me.
I decided to go for a simple costume. I wore khaki cargo pants with a cropped, turtle-neck, long-sleeved black top. I found a pair of black gloves in Kat's closet and a brown belt, so I wore them as accessories. To complete the look, I straightened my hair and parted it to the side then wore some black sneakers.
"Where's your costume?" Cody asked.
"I have it on, dumbass," I brush my hair to the back to show more of the outfit.
"What the heck are you supposed to be?" He looks down at my outfit. What is wrong with him? Any idiot who watches TV would know.
"Kim Possible! Are you blind?"
"...I don't see it."
"Oh, because a football player is so creative," I respond sarcastically. He didn't put any effort into his costume, except for the two black lines on his cheeks.
"Right, here's your marker. Thanks," he handed me a pen.

A basketball jock in our school threw a Halloween party at his place. We thought about crashing it for a while then we'll move our party somewhere else. Will knows this guy whose father owns a nightclub downtown in the city, so we planned to hit it later on.
The house was awfully crowded with people. We spread, and each one went their own way. Will and Dylan stayed with me while I searched for Ryan. He told me earlier that he'll be at the party, so I was on a mission. I told Will and Dylan that it'll be fine if they left me, but they refused for some reason.
We stop by the bar to get a few drinks. Will suddenly leans close to my face and whispers, "Don't miss me too much." He smirks and disappears into the crowd. I roll my eyes, and notice Dylan frowning at where Will left off.
"What's up?" I ask.
"Nothing. How long have you known William for?"
I raise my eyebrows at the sudden question. "I've known him since I was 10, only because he's Cody's cousin. Why?"
"Well, you guys just seem close. He sure gets comfortable around you," he sips his beer.
"We did get closer, now. But that's Will for you anyway. He knows no borders," I smile. Then my smile fades away and turns into a scowl when I remember the kissing booth scene.
"Are you ok?" Dylan cocks his head and frowns at my expression questioningly.
"Yeah, great." I notice his eyes divert from my face to something behind. I turn my head around, but I don't get a chance to see what--more like who-- it was. Lips crash into mine in surprise, kissing me softly. Ryan's blue eyes look gleefully into mine, and he smiles at me, "I prefer her cheerleader costume."
"You dream too big," I push him away.
"I'll leave you two," Dylan takes his drink and leaves the bar. Dylan often acts weird when Ryan is around, and now he was asking about Will. It makes me wonder: what changed? After drinking one more shot, we decide to save the drinking for later and hit the dancefloor.
The music was not any good, the drinks were awful, and it was stuffed with sweaty bodies, so we got bored quickly. We find Jordan making out with a blonde, and Tyler sat near him with Amber on his lap and drinks in their hands.
"This party sucks," I complain, tangling my fingers with Ryan's, whose arm hung around my shoulder. "Guys, let's ditch."
"I'll text the rest," Tyler gets out his phone to do as he said.
We head to the club Will told us about. We didn't need to show any fake IDs, thanks to Will, although that wouldn't have been a problem. It was a sick place, hidden downtown, that didn't look much on the outside--just a small door down a set of stairs underground. But once you get inside, you see a grand dance floor with a huge round bar that circles around a tall pole filled with drinks in the center of the club. On top of all that, we're lucky enough to have our own private room, where we get our own service and our own pool table.
"Will, baby, I've fallen for you," Denise kisses Will's cheek in such a carefree manner, and Will doesn't look fazed by it at all. Still, this might be the best way to show her gratitude for what he did. He just knows how to party for real.
The guys start a game of billiards, so I leave the room and head for the bar. I was sick of vodka so I wanted to get my own drink. I ask the bartender to mix up something good for me that would take me to my good place, but not get me too drunk. While I mentally debate on whether this should be my last drink or not, a guy approaches me.
"Ninja?" He rests his arms on the bar.
"You didn't watch a lot of Disney when you were a kid, I'm guessing," I don't look at him, but stare at the martini glass in my hand.
"I'm Alex," he moves closer.
"And I'm taken." Maybe I was a little drunk. Just a little.
"I don't see him."
"He's just getting me a drink," I reply, sipping from my martini glass. He raises his eyebrows with amusement, eyes full of humor. What's so amusing?
"Man, where have you been," another guy slings his arm around Alex. He looks me down with a perverted look. "I feel betrayed. I thought we shared everything."
"Shut up. She's got a boyfriend," Alex shoves the other guy's arm off his shoulder.
"But my friends don't," I say with a smirk. My drunken mind just got a brilliant idea.
"Are your friends single?" They ask in interest.
"Like my belly button."
I'm not that drunk.
"Are they cute?"
"Very," I finish my drink. "I'll go get them."
I walk back to the room with a look of triumph plastered across my face. I call the guys and tell them I've found some hot stuff out at the bar. They doubt my words at first, telling me that I don't just get the girls like that. In all honesty, I don't.
"Are they hot?" Kyle asks.
"Totally. I almost got attracted to them," I wink at Ryan, who narrowed his eyes at me. "But you know, I got my boo over here," I wrap my arms around Ryan's. It took a while to convince them I'm not drunk and that they're really attractive. Frankly, I haven't lied so far.
I take them to the bar, where Alex and his friends waited. I greet them again cheerfully and start to introduce my friends, watching everyone's face fall. Denise and Ryan crack up with laughter, and Will chuckles as well. Alex laughs a little, "Funny."
"Wow, Nicole, you're hilarious," Cody says next to me. I poke his cheek a few times and say, "You have hair on your face."
"You're really drunk, aren't you?"
"Sorry, dudes, the only one here who'd get into this is our friend, Noah, here." They look at a tall guy with thick black hair and glasses. He looked surprised at first then a bit embarrassed.
"Great, he'll really get along with Jordan," I smirk at Jordan who opens his eyes widely. He shakes his head at me, and I smile wider. It's payback time, bitch.
He pulls me away, "What the fuck, Nic? Are you trying to hook me up with a dude?"
"I'm getting my revenge back," I respond.
"Man, just let that go."
"I won't. I'll be the princess in the play, you asshole," I get angry all over again. He starts laughing so hard that he starts tearing. I get even more frustrated. "You will go hang out with Noah, and you will ask him out by the end of the night."
"Or what?"
"Or I'll tell Allyson that you're sleeping with her sister." He looks me in the eye, silently challenging me. "Right, I know you're sleeping with Sydney. Oh, and I also know about Becca, Sydney's best friend." Yup, Jordan sleeps with anything with boobs, and for once, this came to my advantage. He looks at me in surrender and walks back hopelessly towards Noah, who was actually really cute. Who knows? Maybe I just did Jordan a favor.
