Though this scene is obviously meant to be humorous, it’s worth clearing this up. Contrary to popular belief, Karin does not state she is “gonna ravage Sasuke like crazy!”. What she (literally) says is: “When Juugo and Suigetsu fall asleep, I’m gonna attack Sasuke in his sleep!”. While naughty, there is a considerable difference between the harmless innuendo present in the dialogue in its original Japanese, and the crude way in which it was translated into English.
Taken from the ’Translation Shenanigans’ post. By the way, the translation above was not made by me but by a native Japanese reader who has no pairing bias whatsoever.
I usually do not get involved in this sort of thing, but I can’t help but notice how ironic it is that a moment that was obviously meant for comic relief is being this blown out of proportion and being taken so seriously while some simultaneously insist to disregard this pairing claiming that… it’s comic relief.
As for why I say that “it’s obviously meant for comic relief” (which should be self-explanatory), Karin immediately gets on serious-sensor-mode afterward. Karin does not even show the slightest hint of disappointment at having to abandon the idea of making her move on Sasuke. In other words: that was just a passing mention put by Kishi to humor us.
