Turning in his bed repetitively, Chāpu was sweating up a hurricane like no other. He was laying on the futon that sat in the middle of his small Japanese apartment room. Chāpu closed his eyes tightly to the point where tears were coming out. He was trying to escape his sudden illusions.
But they kept coming back.
He saw the small, innocent Tokebe laying on a woven blanket of blue. Chāpu smiled at the sight of the baby. He wished he had a small sibling to take care of and love. Suddenly, Chāpu's hands began to move towards his pockets, pulling out his recently given golden dagger. The sharp pointed edge of the dagger gleamed in a seemingly evil way as it was pointed towards the newborn's stomach. Deathly howls of a baby were then heard as Chāpu sliced into the fragile child.
Chāpu jumped out of his futon in fright, tripping over his backpack and landing on the table that was basically the header of his futon. The lights of the room quickly flashed open, and Chāpu was shocked by the sudden light, his eyes adjusting to the now bright setting.
"Chāpu!" His mother Rabe ran towards him, "Are you all right, son?" She questioned in fright, examining his body for bruises or scratches.
Chāpu shooed his mother away. "Mom, I'm fine, I'm fine," He reassured her, although it wasn't working all that much.
"Nonsense!" Rabe rejected him. She lifted up his foot to find blood coming out if it, glass deeply engraved in it. He had knocked over a glass on the table. "Oh, Chāpu, what am I going to do with you?" She sighed, helping her son up off of the floor.
Chāpu jumped up quickly, hobbling towards the sink.
"Are you going to be all right?" Rabe started, crossing her arms in grave concern over her son.
Chāpu nodded while grabbing a glass of water off of the counter, and turned the knob of the sink. Thick, crimson liquid came leaking out quickly, causing Chāpu to swiftly turn it off. Chāpu turned around suddenly, gazing at the clock that hung above the table hazily.
"It's almost time to go to school..." He muttered to himself, going towards his futon. His mother was sitting on the floor, her head resting on his futon in ease. She was having sleeping problems, so Chāpu understood why she passed out all the time. He took the roll of medical tape off of the table and wrapped his foot up clumsily. He grasped his golden dagger from the table and put it in his uniform pocket, sheathed, of course. Chāpu placed socks and gently cleaned, shiny shoes on his feet while also putting on his clean Gakuran. He picked up his backpack and headed out, limping in the process.
Chāpu opened the door of the apartment and wandered out, heading through the streets of the busy city. The school building appeared before him, and he shivered at the sight of his daily dose of hell.
"Hey, Chāpu!~" One of the boys chimed, his muscles commenting his ugly tone of voice. Three other boys snickered with smirks on their faces as Chāpu approached.
Chāpu stood before the muscular boy. "Daichi," He greeted, bowing a bit.
Daichi shoved Chāpu's bow closer to the ground. "Bow deeper!" He demanded.
The boys watched on, quite enjoying the show.
"I should just rip your blue eyes out," Daichi commented, pulling on Chāpu's hair so they could see each other face-to-face.
Daichi then shoved Chāpu to the ground. "How's that whore of a mother going for you?" His comment made everyone burst out laughing.
"Don't insult my mother," Chāpu wiped off the scratch by his mouth he had gotten while being pushed.
"Like you can--" Daichi stopped himself. His gaze traced behind Chāpu.
"Well, aren't you a marvelous creature!" He called to whatever, no, whomever was behind Chāpu. Chāpu turned his head around, his eyes widening in pure shock responsively.
White as a ghost with icy blue eyes and barb-wire black hair, tied in a huge braid was the girl he saw crying behind the hospital the other day. His shocked expression turned into a hated glare towards the girl. His hand slipped into his pocket in defense.
The girl stood beside Chāpu now, looking at the group of Japanese boys. "Shouldn't you all be in school?" She queried, searching their faces for an answer.
Daichi tsked, "Shouldn't you be back home?" He shot back, "White girls like you aren't welcomed here. They'll tear up your fair face in there," He licked his lips, his eyes wandering around her.
"You know," She started, straightening her back and walking forward into his face, "You really shouldn't refer to me as 'white girl.' I'm not just a 'white girl.' You can call me Hiatum." She offered with a smirk on her face.
Daichi shot a smile. "Hiatum? What the hell kind of a name is that?" He laughed, laughing rising up in his tag-alongs as a chain reaction.
"It's Latin." Hiatum stopped smiling, her eyes dimming slightly.
Daichi stopped smiling as well. "Well, Hiatum, I don't know whether to ask you why you can speak fluent Japanese, or why you're defending the bastard behind you."
Hiatum slowly cocked her head towards Chāpu, their blue eyes locked. Chāpu felt a shiver down his spine.
Hiatum turned back to the cruel boys, nevertheless. "That is quite funny," She paused for a second, "But you should just get to class, sweety." She turned around towards Chāpu, and lifted him up off the ground like he was a four-pound puppy.
Daichi yanked Hiatum back, grabbing her by her braid. "Don't turn your back on me!" He screamed in her face, tossing her on the ground behind him.
Taken by surprise, Hiatum fell roughly on the ground, hatred filling itself in her eyes. "Pig." She snorted, spitting on the ground to show her thorough dislike.
Daichi turned around, grabbing the collar on her dress. "Oh yeah? I can show you a pig." He snarled like a rabid animal, grabbing the top of her dress.
Hiatum kicked her leg back, and it threw itself forward onto his ankle. Cracks from Daichi's body were loud, and blood spurted out of his ankle. Daichi's friends ran away in shock, leaving their valued leader behind.
Chāpu backed away, covering his mouth with his hand. Out of Daichi's foot poked out a bone, covered in muscle and blood. Chāpu fell back on his bum, holding in his vomit.
Hiatum adjusted her clothes and kicked Daichi in the head. Blood got on her leather boots, and onto the cement that was below. "Sick little pig," She repeated, eyeing down at the boy. Hiatum's eyes then trailed to the fallen Chāpu, who was too stricken with fright to move. His eyes widened in shock as she let out a sick grin and met his blue eyes with her own. He only saw transparency, however, since his shock had consumed him into.
Hiatum lifted a bloody boot and strolled over to him, sitting sideways in his lap.
"You still alive in there?" She asked, giggling like nothing happened. She tapped his head with her index finger. Chāpu was too concentrated on the crying and squirming of his bully to notice her.
Hiatum bent towards his ear, "This could happen to your mother too, you know." She whispered.
Chāpu's face turned to Hiatum's. He shoved her off of his lap and pinned her to the ground.
"What did you say?!" He shouted in Hiatum's face, grasping the dagger in his pocket.
Hiatum let out a crazed laugh, "Hahaha! This is reasonably an erotic action for a boy like you to be doing, do you not think? I mean, pinning down a helpless girl and all. Sorry to inform you, but if my true gender was female, you would not be my type--" She blabbered creepily, but was interrupted.
"TELL ME!!"Chāpu screamed.
Hiatum shoved Chāpu off of her, him in return landed roughly on the ground. Hiatum reached inside her pockets of her dress and pulled out a slip of paper. "This is a mere page from the vast Book of Decisions and Ideas," She started, clearing her throat, "If you want your mother to survive her incurable injury, you must slaughter the two youngest children of Hermes or betray the oldest child of Hermes, your betrayal thus killing her." Hiatum released the paper, it fluttered onto the cemented ground towards Chāpu.
Chāpu grabbed it, reading it over and over again in pure panic. Hiatum observed him, licking her index finger creepily. She then smiled to herself, walking past the nervous boy.
"Your betrayal will extraordinarily aid me in my job to serve my mother. Just think of it this way--If you kill or betray, you will help your mother, and I will help mine." She sadly looked behind her to Chāpu. "You and I are alike. We both care for our givers of life."
Chāpu's grip on the paper tightened. "Don't compare me to you." He looked at the moaning Daichi, "I'm not a murderer."
Hiatum's sad face didn't change. "Not yet, anyways." And with a wisp of her arm, she disappeared into thin air.
Once gone, Chāpu staggered up, limping as fast as he could towards his apartment building.
What'd she mean by saving my mother too? Chāpu's eyes grew wide at his thought.
Everything seemed so slow to him, he couldn't believe in what was happening. When he spotted the flashing lights of sirens, his heart skipped several beats, eyes buzzing out to form a blurry vision. Rushing to the scene, Chāpu spotted his delicate mother being led out of the building on a stretcher. Her normally dark eyes were blank and she was not making any sort of movement.
Chāpu crushed through the nosy crowd, running towards the stretcher. "Mom," He began to shout with a shaky voice, "Mom!!" He shouted again, tears streaming down his face quickly.
He arrived at the stretcher that was moving towards the ambulance and gazed into the ambulance to make sure there was a doctor in there. He shook his head and looked into his mother's eyes, pressing his face into hers.
"Mom," He whimpered, "I love you."
Some people pushed him back.
"Watch it boy! Don't get in the way!" The medics called towards him. Chāpu darted into the apartment indignantly, stomping around heavily with a dazed head and blurry eyes. Before he knew it, Chāpu ran into someone. Swaying back, he shook his head and rubbed his eyes to get a better view of where he was going. Chāpu gasped at the woman he ran into.
He cautiously backed away, scared for his life.
"Are you all right?" She asked, tilting her head.
Chāpu sighed in relief. "I'm fine." He sniffed a lie.
The woman was deathly white with porcelain skin, her black hair neatly groomed over both her shoulders. "Are you sure?" She asked once more, her icy eyes catching Chāpu's.
Chāpu nodded. "I'm fine." He glared at her, knowing how much she looked just like Hiatum. But she was a woman with a Lolita-chocolate dress.
It couldn't be Hiatum, right? He rubbed his eyes to get rid of the tears.
"All right then." She smiled, walking past him.
Chāpu scowled at her behind her back. Even her smile was filled with evil too! Chāpu marched to his apartment angrily, crashing through the door. He stepped in a pool of blood but ignored it. Chāpu headed to the table and grabbed a wristband off of it. He placed it on his wrist and pulled his dagger out.
"Taiyō Sera-chan," He whispered, "Take me to Olympus." He cut his wrist with the dagger, and the blood spilled on the band, thus making him disappear.
