“I’m glad to see you,” Katya grabbed me tightly, trying to prove her point.
“Me too. I missed my friend.” Although spending days and nights with Fedya alone was perfect, I can’t be like that for long. For that reason, I was content with Katya’s announcement of their earlier arrival.
And so, although I am still terribly angry with my wonderful brother, I came to the airport to meet them.
“Where is Fedya?” She asked, observing the space around us.
“At training. I didn’t let him miss it.” He has been absent too much lately.
“Hi.” Dan greeted me uncertainly, to which I just nodded. Of course, I missed him too, but until he apologizes, I don’t plan to get over our conflict. Katya hit him in the ribs with her elbow, obviously reminding him of some inner agreement.
“I’m sorry, Victoria. I know I acted like a jerk, but try to understand me. You are my younger sister, and he is my best friend, who has never had a serious relationship in his life. Could I have reacted differently?” He tried to explain his behavior, but he didn’t really improve the situation.
“You’re five hundred times worse than him, but I didn’t say anything when you and Katya got together. I didn’t say anything because he thought we had no right to interfere in your relationship. But, of course, you immediately got involved in ours.” I frown at him, not giving up on my intentions. He has to accept the situation, or he can forget about any normal relationship with me.
“You’re right, Vika. I realized how much he actually cared about you, so I really have no intention of messing with your relationship again. You have my approval,” I smile ironically, aware that his approval plays no role, but I say nothing. I don’t want to argue anymore.
“Ok. But I swear to you, Dan, it takes just another nonsense like this, and you can forget about me.” He looked at me in surprise because he probably didn’t think I would be so determined, but he just nodded and said nothing more. And it’s better that way.
“How was it in Spain?” I asked Katya, wanting to know everything that had happened since Fedya and I boarded the plane for Russia.
“Perfect. I’m just sorry you had to leave earlier,” she frowned at Dan, then turned back to me, continuing with the story of Spain.
It’s nice to see her again.

“Double date?” I watch Vika confused, not being able to digest the prior announcement. She hates going out, and I can’t even imagine her perspective on the double date.
“Katya’s stupid idea. She’s trying to fix things between Dan and me. You and she will be there just so something doesn’t go wrong,” she explained with a sigh, letting me know that she isn’t very happy about the idea.
“What’s wrong?” I asked, wanting to help her in any way I could.
“I do not want this nonsense. I’m mad at him, and we’ll start a fight in less than five minutes, and my mood will go to hell. Afterward, of course, I will listen to criticism from my wonderful parents, who will, of course, only care about whether we have risked their reputation with our outburst in the restaurant. And, of course, I will turn out to be guilty because I am always guilty of everything. How could Denis ever screw something up when he is their ideal son?”
“We simply won’t go then. We’ll stay in bed and watch a movie. Okay?” I offer an alternative, which I honestly prefer.
Like Vika, I’m not the type of person who loves glamorous restaurants and all the uptightness of the rich. Dan, on the other hand, doesn’t mind it. Moreover, I would say that he fits perfectly into that environment.
“I would like it more than anything, but we can’t. Katya will kill me if we don’t show up at the restaurant, and I really don’t want to argue with her too. I’m tired of the conflict with Dan.” With a sigh, she headed to the room to choose clothes for going out.
Oh yes, it can be said that she moved in with me. But no, I don’t mind.
“What do you think?” She returned to the living room with one of the more formal dresses and asked me for my opinion.
“You are perfect for me no matter what you wear,” I give her an honest answer, drawing a smile on her face. I am happy whenever I see her laugh because I know how hard was the period she went through.
She watches me for a few moments with a smile, then nods her head and returns to the room.
I stiffen when a thought flashes through my head, which I didn’t really expect to find there.
I love her.
•Vika’s pov•
“I can’t believe I agreed to this,” I moan as I walk with Fedya to the table Katya and Denis have reserved for tonight. Of course, it’s in the center of the restaurant. As if he wants to make sure that there is no quarrel between us.
“Relax, Vika, everything will be fine.” Fedya intertwines our fingers, comforting me. I will never understand how, but his presence is all I need to calm down. Even antidepressants, which I have used for so long, never had this kind of effect on me.
Katya hugged me as soon as we approached the table and then let me say hi to my brother.
“Hi, Dan,” I smile, not wanting to ruin the atmosphere. But even though I’m really trying to get over everything as quickly as possible, it’s not easy for me. You could say I am a vengeful person. And as I have the opportunity to see at the moment, it often hurts the people around me.
“You came back last week, and you didn’t call me. Shame on you, Dan.” Fedja broke the awkward silence with his recognizable smile.
“I heard you were busy, so I didn’t want to bother,” Dan replied with a slight smile, which confused Fedya.
“Busy?”
“Well, yes, I’ve heard you’ve had guests for a while,” he says, alluding to me, who had spent the previous week with Fedya. To be honest, I have no desire to return home.
“You didn’t get it right. I don’t have any guests, just a new roommate.” He grins from ear to ear as he watches me, which immediately makes me feel better. I must finally understand that no one can ruin what I have with him. He would never allow that.
“We’re glad for you,” Katya jumped in instead of Dan, smiling sincerely at us. She and Fedya are really trying to fix this evening, and I am sincerely grateful to them for that. I can imagine how embarrassing all this would be if it weren’t for the two of them.
The waiter shows up at the right time, not giving Dan time to add anything. Just let this evening pass so that I can return to Fedya’s safe embrace and not move from there. That’s all I need.177Please respect copyright.PENANAAnwvvYkyF6
