Cameo lay curled up against Infinity that night, still shaken. The scene from that afternoon ran through his mind over and over again. There was something about it all that didn’t seem right, besides the obvious wrongness of Thomas’s blatant disregard for any semblance of human decency.
“Why didn’t he fight back?”
“Hmm?” Infinity whispered, nearly asleep.
“Wilson. He didn’t fight back. I don’t understand it!” He had his legs tucked up to his chin and Infinity’s arms wrapped around his body. “Я не понимаю его. Я ненавижу его. Он должен работать на Джейдена. Как будто я могу говорить."
“Hey,” Infinity snapped, suddenly awake. “Don’t go off on me again.”
He sighed and closed his eyes. “I won’t, I won’t. I’m okay.” He shuddered. “I don’t understand.” A tear traced down his cheek. “I hate this. Why didn’t he fight? It’s so wrong!” Infinity pulled a blanket over him.
“It’s okay. You don’t need to understand it tonight. Just sleep.”
“Argh. I hate him. I hate him! He’s so-” He started crying.
“Aww, hey, shh,” she squeezed him tight. “Stop crying. He’s a jerk. He will get nowhere in life. You and I will. You are okay.”

Infinity pulled him tighter as he cried. Eventually, he cried himself to sleep, face soaked in tears. Infinity tugged the blanket closer around her and Cameo and placed a kiss against his temple. At last, she drifted off to sleep with Cameo tight against her.
A loud banging woke them up the next morning. Cameo leapt up, smashing his head against the ceiling. “Ah, из всех глупых, неприятных-” he rubbed the sore spot angrily and Infinity hugged him tenderly. The person outside knocked again.
“Hey Cameo, open up! These kids just showed up. They say they know you and your girl,” Tanner said from the other side of the wall.
“His girl?” A familiar voice shrieked from the outside. “Cameo, you have a girl now?” The hatch flew open and Harley and Ethaniel’s faces stood framed in the opening. Harley screamed when she saw them sitting cuddled against each other under the blanket. She slammed the door closed. “If you weren’t going to keep it PG, you at least could have said something!”
Infinity and Cameo looked at each other and burst out laughing. Cameo opened the hatch and climbed out, wiping tears from his eyes. He wrapped Harley in a hug. “We weren’t doing anything, you doof! If we weren’t going to keep it PG we would have said something. It’s good to see you, Giz.” He turned to Ethaniel, who had leaned against the side of the bus with a smug grin on his face. He shook his head.
“I knew it was only a matter of time,” he said, smirking.
Cameo threw his hands in the air. “Ha ha. Very funny. Jerk.” Ethaniel laughed. “How’re the gunshots?”
Ethaniel put a hand to his torso and grimaced. “Painful. Very painful. But the doc said I'll be good in a few days.” He frowned. “Or was it weeks?”
Harley rolled her eyes. “It was definitely weeks, you moron.”
“You know you love me.”
Harley stuck out her tongue. Cameo smiled and walked over to Infinity and helped her out of the bus. The four of them turned to Tanner and Cameo introduced the newcomers.
“This is my cousin, Harley, and her, um…” Cameo glanced at Ethaniel, unsure of how to finish the sentence.
“Harley’s boyfriend, Ethaniel. Very nice to meet you,” he said, sticking his hand out. Tanner shook his head and took Ethaniel’s outstretched hand.
