So yesterday I had the privilege to go to the Multicultural Youth Leadership Conference or MYLC because the full name is a bit of a mouthful.274Please respect copyright.PENANANMDCg76nSm
I wanted to write about it because Idk...memories? I don't really mind if people read this or not.274Please respect copyright.PENANAcPrtggDe9b
But I went to that yesterday, it was at the Melbourne Convention Centre. We had to take public transport there which was really interesting considering we nearly took the wrong train...but here's the thing. We actually missed it because we were going to take it but some people had issues with their mykis (those are like...transport cards..?) but yeaaah.
When we got there there were lights and a DJ so we were kinda confused lol. But there were seats and guess what? THEY HAD TABLES. YES. THIS IS IMPRESSIVE TO ME OK???? I would show yall pics but I'm at school aha.274Please respect copyright.PENANA8HUhh9vQjs
But overall the day was super informative. It was amazing to know that there were so many people out there who have and struggle with the same issues I do. Like being discouraged by doing leadership because of the lack of people of colour or being overwhelmed by the jokes people make and not knowing if they're just trying to be racist. The day was super inspiring and eye-opening. I think the big message I learnt would be that don't let things discourage you from creating change and not to be afraid of taking larger roles just because theres no one like me there.
I also learnt some amazing leadership techniques!!
Ok lunch is over
