So if y'all aren't aware I am a major consumer of the romance genre and as I've been getting older I've started reading more adult romance. I've realised that this has come with more smex scenes. This is fine after all the fiction is aimed at older audiences that aren't like (my age) so it makes sense. But I personally just don't enjoy reading them at the moment. Or well so graphic ones.379Please respect copyright.PENANA9G4yLzxKA1
A simple solution could be going back to reading non-adult books. Which is smart. But after all the media I've consumed based on this genre it's predictable. It's easy to figure it out. I mean this is like the nicest way possible but after a while, the different tropes start following the same pattern. I just don't enjoy it as much.
I could skip them but for some reason, there's always✨plot✨ some weird-ass deal or someone admitting to stuff. So it's not so easy.
It's one of the reasons I read more LQBTQAI+ fiction. From what I've gotten there's less description with those for some reason. It's not the only reason I read those books though.
A nice perk that comes with this though is that I get my friend to read them with me so we are both suffering and crying together. Don't worry she asks me to read them with her. It's fun because we're both cringing and yelling.
I guess my solution is either stop reading the genre or put on my big girl pants and suck it up!
Anyways I'm going back on a road trip so has anyone got any romance reccs?
