(I should mention I’m straight so I talk abt having boyfriends in this but it goes for all kinds of relationships:)
In my Highschool all the popular girls have boyfriends and dates to dances constantly. Most of my friends try to get boys to notice them and stuff like that. It’s a lot of pressure on me to date, but I’m definitely not sure about it. (I should also mention that I was new to the school my freshman year) I have never had a relationship before, and I’m not really planning to until I graduate. Nothing against people who date in Highschool, it’s jus not for me :)
of course, there is that part of me who sees relationships grow and couples having fun, that makes me really sad I don’t have someone like that. Then I have to remember that when I find the perfect guy for me, that’s when I’ll date. It’s hard tho :)
I dont really know what I’d do if someone asked me to a dance or something… I’d have to be friends with him, and explain that we’d go as friends I guess.
The other thing is that I’ve seen my friends go thru awful breakups and bumps in their past relationships, and that’s something I’m glad to avoid heheh
But in summary, being single nowadays is pretty hard but it can also be super chill
