What happened to him then? I looked to the others for an explanation.
"It is still too risky" Talio agreed from behind me while resting his hands around my shoulders "your heart is in the right place, Shie, but Havok and Arson can handle Stone. They are prepared for it."
"We are" the one on the left spoke while moving over to take the cloth from Shie gently "please, don't put yourself in danger."
She looked down to Stone who gave her another weak smile and ran his hand down her arm.
When she rose, the men around the door parted instantly. I was jostled to the side in the unexpected movement and almost fell down.
"Please let me know if anything changes" she turned back to the men moving to take thier place at the bed again.
"We will, my Queen" the left one nodded before Shie exited and closed the door behind her.

"I vote a clear vote for Tor" Sparrow spoke up from beside who I guessed was Resolve "he isn't in the right mindframe to be concerned with things outside the room at the moment. He stays out of the judgment."
Shie looked to the man beside Sparrow who glanced around.
He looked just like him too, from the stained arms to the same glinting eyes Sparrow had hardened on everyone waiting for him to speak.
If anything, Resolve was a lot more outspoken than Sparrow. He didn't have the same brash or forwardness his brother liked to throw around.
"I don't want Tor to come into the vote" Resolve agreed "he's not stepping on toes that way."
"Smart" Talio breathed to me "by keeping him out of it, they won't be targetted if someone doesn't agree with the decision."
That was smart. I doubted we could do the same thing as fully-fuctioning members gathered here with everyone else.

Murmers were rising at the difference already. Sparrow was glaring somewhat murderously to Resolve.
"Just because you think you can heal him with some rocks" he shot.
"Because I'm not giving up on him so easily! There are things out there that will work!" Resolve grew defensive and bristled back.
Both men growled to each other until Blight made a noise to divert the attention to him.
He stood by Shie, placing a gentle hand on her shoulder.
"They have spoken" he told her.
"Well, I think we should isolate him" Ransom looked around the room from his place at the table "keep him in his room and put the other two somewhere else. They haven't been infected by the parasite, so we can still deal with it when that time comes."

Ransom rose from his seat to lock onto Noma who only scowled from the wall behind him where Dashiell and Plague were watching for movement beside him.

It was equal. Two each side so far.

Blight ignored the remark and checked on Shie before moving on.
"Anyone else? Rush?" he called out.
"We could keep him here" Rush spoke up nervously, his eyes darting around to everyone "if it's a parasite, we can just kill it without hurting Stone."

"He's made his choice. Don't fight him on that."
"Keep him here" Rush confirmed with a nod and went back to huddling out of the limelight and Dashiell's dissapointment.

Muttering and peppered agreement lifted in the air. Some decided to remain quiet rather than agree to what they knew was right.
Blight counted this as the word he needed to add the votes.

Carrion snorted, shaking his head and balling up his hands.
"The only thing shameful here is leaving her in this situation" he jabbed a finger to Blight but softened when he looked down to Shie "save yourself and exile him while you can."
Carrion stormed out of the room, everyone making sure to stay out of his path. He threw open the door that Sparrow slipped out of too after peering at the silence before him.
"Well, we need to decide who Havok and Arson go with then" Blight sighed.
Rush went over to close the door, and everyone shuffled closer to decide another factor of thier family.
Talio decided to use the time to reweave my hands and help himself to some cereal. He fed me from my own bowl, deciding to stay out of the shuffling rearrangements of the rooms.

No answers. Everyone was waiting to uproot thier lives and move on unwillingly.

Talio shifted so I could lift from the nook and stand there stupidly, not sure if I should approach her or follow behind her.

I wanted to dispute her logic but could see the reasoning in it.
