The next morning, I awoke to the same pair of brown eyes that belonged to my loving husband. A large smile crept onto his face as my eyes connected with his. I felt his arm wrap around my waist, pulling me close. The smile on my face became larger as he came closer and closer, my heart beating faster the closer he got. The overwhelming urge to close the space between us filled me, causing me to crash my lips onto his.
I felt the same intoxicating feeling I always did as our lips moved in sync. He rolled us over so that he was on top of me, our lips never parting. We continued to kiss until I rolled us over again, ending up on top. Our lips separated as I looked down at his face, smirking.
I leaned down and kissed his neck, occasionally sucking at his warm tender skin. I pulled back when I heard a few low moans from him.
"The things you do to me woman," he said, rolling us over again.
He left a trail of goose bumps as he kissed from my neck until he reached the top of my bosom. He slowly tugged at my shirt until I pulled it over my head, wrapping my arms around his neck, connecting our lips again.

The alarm clock on our side table sounded, causing Alex to pull his head away from where it was, laying on top of mine. We both groaned as we forced our unclothed bodies from the bed after I had turned off the clock. I then walked to the dresser, picked up my robe from the top drawer and put it on as Alex made his way into the bathroom.
"I'll make breakfast," I said, leaning my head into the bathroom. He poked his head out and pecked my lips.
"Okay."
I jogged down the stairs and into the kitchen, walking straight to the fridge. I opened the metallic door and pulled out the carton of eggs and milk. I had prepared French toast, coffee and cut up some fruits by the time Alex came down.
He walked towards me, wearing a short sleeved purple plaid shirt and dark jeans, kissing me from across the island in the middle of the kitchen. When our lips separated, he leaned his forehead on mine and looked at me with a smile. "I love you Victoria." I smiled, leaning in to kiss him again.
"I love you too Alex," I said when we parted.

After breakfast, I walked upstairs and took a quick shower. I then changed into a pair of jeans, a ruffled red top and a white blazer with sleeves that went slightly past my elbows. I then picked up a pair of black flats and my small black bag, stepping out of the bedroom.
"Ready babe?" I asked Alex, plopping myself into the couch beside him. He threw his arms around my shoulders and pulled me towards his body.
"I'm always ready to do anything with you," he replied, wriggling his eyebrows suggestively. I playfully slapped his chest.
"We're meeting your brother and his girl today. Remember?" I asked. His face contorted, feigning mock disappointment for a few seconds before he composed himself and smiled, pecking my lips.
"Okay, I think I'm ready to go now," he said as he got up from the couch. I followed his action and put on my flats. We walked out the front door and he walked to the car while I locked the door.
Inside his black Mazda 3, music blared out of the speakers as Alex tapped his fingers on the steering wheel to the beat. "Ready to go?" He asked, smiling at me while I buckled my seatbelt. I nodded my head, taking out my cell phone to check my messages.
As he pulled out of the driveway, my phone buzzed in my palm, indicating a text. I opened it immediately:
Hey. You guys on your way? We're waiting for you inside.
"They're there," I informed Alex. He nodded, still tapping his fingers to the song while driving. He turned a corner a few minutes later and the building came into view.
Alex parked the car somewhat close before we both got out. Walking towards the white brick restaurant with a tropical theme, I intertwined our fingers and he swung them gently. I smiled to myself feeling the warmth of his hand wrap mine.
Inside the restaurant, a young waitress wearing a black mini skirt and a white shirt with a name tag that read Jessica greeted us at the door. "Table for two?" She asked, a smile appearing on her pink glossed lips as she looked at our hands.
"We have a reservation under Matthews," Alex replied. She nodded and led us to the balcony at the back, picking up two menus on the way.
We have been here many times over the years, having met here for the first time ever, but the breathtaking view took me by surprise every time. Behind the balcony was a large body of water that looked like it went on forever. It looked so perfect with the sun reflecting off of it.
"There they are," I heard the familiar sound of Mike's voice as we got closer to our table. A small breeze blew past us, sending my long brown hair flying in different directions. I felt Alex's hand leave mine as he walked towards his brother and did a man hug with him. Amanda, Mike's girlfriend walked up to me with a small smile. She was wearing a pink dress with a floral pattern falling just above her knees accompanied by a pair of black high heels. A flash of something appeared in her eyes for a split second as she hugged me tightly. I smiled at her as we parted.
"So nice to see you Victoria."
"You too Amanda," I replied.
"There she is!" Mike said, taking a few steps towards me. He was wearing a black V- neck shirt with jeans and a pair of red vans. A large smile appeared on my face as I received his hug.
"Hey Mike," I said, looking over at Alex and Amanda. Alex was trying to get out of the hug but it looked like Amanda didn't want to let go. As Mike and I separated, he dropped his arm, wrapping it around my waist. I was taken aback slightly.
"It's been too long Tori," he said, lifting an eyebrow, "we should meet up soon after this don't you think?"
"Um... Su-"
"I think that's enough man," Alex cut in, slapping Mike's arm away. He chuckled, looking at Alex, whose face was the complete picture of annoyance.
"Relax. I was just joking," Mike lifted his hands defensively.
We all sat down and looked through the menu before ordering. When the food came, everyone was happy to dig in. The food here was great and knowing the owner had its perks.
"Alex, Mike."
We all turned around at the sound of the owner, their father's voice. He had a large smile on his face and it got slightly larger when my eyes connected with his. I returned the smile, feeling relieved it wasn’t their mother.
"Enjoying the food?" He asked with a serious face. Whenever he asked about his food, he always expected an honest answer.
“It's delicious,” a chorus of voices surrounded us as we all replied.
His face lit up brightly as he nodded his head slightly. “I’m glad you’re all enjoying it,” he said before waving a good bye to us and leaving momentarily.
“We should get together more often,” Amanda said, breaking the small silence which surrounded us as their father left.
“Sounds good babe. You guys up for it next week?” Mike asked, looking between us.
“Yeah we should be free next week but we'll see you two at the barbecue on Saturday right? You two are coming right?” Alex asked.
They looked at each other blankly for a few seconds before they smiled, obviously remembering.
“Oh yeah. We can still meet up after,” Amanda said, her eyes lingering on Alex before she looked at me.
“If you don't have any plans babe.”
Alex and I both erupted into laughter as we said the same sentence to each other. It always surprised me whenever that happened. He leaned into me and placed a quick kiss on my cheek before looking at his brother.
“Looks like we can make it.”
Mike's smile expanded as his eyes moved from Alex to staring at me, as if I was the most fascinating thing he had ever seen. I flashed a small smile as I reached for my glass of cold soda, taking a sip to relief my dry mouth.
Alex cleared his throat loudly, obviously sensing my uncomfortable state. Mike shook his head before looking back at Alex.
"So when is the barbecue?" he asked, trying to change the mood.
"It's at..." Alex trailed off looking at me. I shook my head in mock disappointment as I chuckled.
"One p.m." I finished his sentence.
"Sounds great. We'll be there," Amanda beamed.
The rest of our time together went by quickly after that and before I knew it, we were on our way back to the car.
"Well that was just a jumble of awkward moments," Alex said, wrapping his arm around my shoulder. I smiled and pressed my lips to his.
"Tell me about it," I replied.
When we got to the car, Alex walked to my door and opened it. "Milady," he said in a fake British accent.
"That's the worst impersonation I've ever heard," I said between my snickering.
"It got you to laugh though," he replied, grinning like a Cheshire cat. He closed the door and walked towards me. I ran to him and jumped into him with a hug, wrapping my arms around his neck. He picked me up and twirled me around as we both laughed.
"What's wrong with us?" I asked jokingly as he stopped twirling.
"I don't know. But what I do know is that I love you Victoria," he responded.
"I love you too Alex," I said, before he pressed his lips against mine.
